Started to get interested in W40 and nids after a quite few years. I wanted to say I like how you manage to explain, understand and combine that big amount of info, aaaand specially that is more than evident that you like nids hehe. Good job!
The whole time you were talking about finding all the old models for nids...I just looked over my ridiculous collection that I've collected for the last 15 years...ebay and buying from people at hobby shops has been a blessing. Haven't bought a single thing from GW's website or store in almost 10 years. Also 3D printer helps a LOT! I used to play Apoc all the time so I made sure to collect a massive swarm for all day long games.
My problem with those detatchment is just one thing: every list i made and tryed, was just better using invasion fleet for output dmg and tankiness. The only exception i found on insvasion swarm, but i don't thiink is overall enogh good the only swam list Really liked this video and your channel😆
Vanguard Onslaught is solid if you play the points game and focus a tad less on killing. Stuff you're opponent up in there deployment zone turn one if you can, take off on points turn 2 and 3 and play cagey turn 4/5.
Been playing assimilation exclusively and I'm finding that you need at least two full units of pyrovores plus a set of rippers to keep it running cleanly. Put biophagic flow on the parasite to create a 9" regeneration bubble throughout your harvester network. They can't shoot the parasite and he's good defense with genestealer and a broodlord. I put monstrous Regen on the broodlord to return two genestealers whenever possible. I could share my current list at 1250 if you like. Still tweaking it but I'm 4-1 with our local store.
I feel for these small local hobby store but GW man... It's like being in an abusive relationship. They do poorly in a quarter prices go up... they do well in a quarter prices go up... the sun comes up, the prices go up... I have zero qualms about my 6 thousand or so points of printed nids. Don't even get me started on the fact that the new datacards do NOT come with the detachment rules so you'll have to buy the codex whether you buy the data cards or not and you have to bring the codex with you as well. GW has screwed us every chance they get for a very long time now.
I have just lost (more like i was destroyed....) with my Tyranids agaist Imperial Fists 😅 it was like - he moved all models throu ruins and in one shooting phase clean 85% of my models 😂 Like - one unit has 18 shoots, twin linked, lethal... o cool, 15 wounds on your exocrine 😅 it was insane, i have fellt like he has 3 shooting phases in one 🙃 I already am trying to change my list (i have played and am going to play Assimilation Swarm), but it was soooooo devastating that it is hard for me to think that i could have a chance. I am going to change the list with your advices, this video was super helpful ! thanks You ! maybe next time i will survive 2 shooting phases of Space Crappins... 🤭
Great video. Lots of good stuff. I do think the Invasion Fleet is no. 1 right now because it is so versatile and it will benefit your army better against almost every opponent's list.
Two Emissaries are just powerful, and force a lot of bad decisions from your opponents. If not dealt with fast, they control 2 primaries, and allow your units to ensure a great secondary objective game. Just remember to screen them, and your opponents will cry
Except theyre not good at all. 290 points for a norn emissary that struggles to even kill a leman russ tank is a J-O-K-E. i dont know why most of the tyranid big bugs are so insanely overcosted. They really have strength of melee weapons screwed up badly in 10th edition. Norn emissary and Norn assimilator melee weapons all need +1S or +2S in some cases. Either that or just knock 50-75 points off their cost.
@@Khobai they aren’t for killing is why. They are for surviving everything while your Zoanthropes and Maleceptors destroy whatever is trying to kill them. If they target your shooting bugs, they will never get a point of primary. If they try to take out the Emissaries, they will be shot down by everything else. You can’t look at a unit in a bubble. You have to see what it does in coordination with the rest of the army. 290pts that eats 24 lascannon shots minimum takes the heat off of your other units. Please realize that I have been helping my friend play test his army for an upcoming GT, and that even Tau can’t provide enough firepower to take two primaries before turn 4. You are looking at the wrong aspects of the unit as it pertains to the entire army
@@Khobai a Leman Russ takes 8 lascannon shots, a Rogal Dorn takes 15, and you expect a unit that cost 1 1/2 times as much as a Leman Russ and takes twice as many hits to kill as 1 1/2 Leman Russ’s to be able to kill more? Do you understand the problem with your math on that?
@@Khobai let’s put that into practice. The best damage you can expect from three Leman Russ Demolishers is a 50% chance of doing 10 damage for 600pts. The crack back is 9 Zoanthropes and an Emissary for 620pts, Which flat out kills 1 Leman Russ and does 6 damage on a second, which reduces the incoming damage on the Emissary to survive a second volley before wiping out the other two in that second crack back. Mathematically, I don’t see what you are trying to say.
@@stevenburton7725 if you say so. i kill leman russes with cheaper units in one turn all the time. a 190 point eradicator squad can easily take down a leman russ in one turn. the reality is the norn emissary is garbage. even zoanthropes are garbage now. their points cost increase was entirely unjustified if you compare them to what other factions get for similar points. tyranid point costs are way too high for most things.
I picked up nids in 10th. I have been focusing on more of a horde army that has some shooting when I need it. Unrelenting Swarms let's you not take a tervigon because you can strait up just bring back units. With that in mind keeping 2 cp available to do this is key.
a swarmlord seems important for unrelenting swarms to keep up the 2cp. unfortunately the swarmlord is obnoxiously overcosted for no good balance reason; its overcosted just so they can sell more norns :(
Tervigon is probably still an auto include, maybe even two. Giving lethal hits to all your gants makes them a ton more effective especially against higher toughness stuff.
@@effindave6909 tervigon is auto non-include. that thing is terrible. even with lethal hits termagaunts still barely kill anything. its just not a route thats worth pursuing. you dont want to spend points on bad units that make other bad units less bad. just spend points on good units instead. The main problem with the Tervigon is that it cant spawn new gant units anymore... that ruined it. Even if they just gave the Tervigon a once per game ability to respawn 10 dead gants it would be a lot better than it is now.
Thought id like synaptic nexus but all the strats are much more situational than the invasion fleet. I lost by 5 points but I feel with the same list id have won using invasion fleet.
