Christine was brainwashed for her entire life, so she couldn’t see what was happening with Robin. She also couldn’t see how toxic Kody was. She had been told her entire life that her purpose was to make babies and stay sweet. She was trying desperately to make that happen.

I wish someone would take the time to correlate the book, the show & interviews in a chronological fashion. It would provide not only missed context but would provide clear evidence of Kody & Robyn's lies & manipulation. When I reread the book in the order of timeline versus how it is laid out, I noticed so much. Christine was always consistent & I appreciate her for that.

Janelle left a few times. I see a patern with Kody. They needed to move to a bigger house and of course he didn't have the money. Suddenly he wants Janelle back who had a good job and earned good money. When Robyn needed that mansion in Flagstaff all of a sudden he called Meri and says to her he wants to work on their relationship. So Meri sells her Vegas house and finally moves to Flagstaff. But Kody just needed her money and would have told her anything to get at that money. Now Robyn could buy the house and he completely ignores Meri..

I think Janelle understood that you should save for a rainy day, but was pressured by Kody to buy what he thought was necessary.

You often comment how Meri and Christine grew up in polygamist families,but Janelle and technically Robyn did not. How much thought is given to the fact that Kody didn’t grow up in a polygamist family either… his dad made his decision when Kody was an adult, and Kody decided for himself after he came back from his mission trip. So who was Kody’s experienced role model that he could relate to for guidance? Was he just getting input from his New AUB community? I often wonder where his game plan came from on how to satisfy four wives and parent and support 18 kids. Why did he think he could handle this huge responsibility. Was it just his patriarchal ego that made him think none of the wives would question his intentions and decisions? Hard to believe that his show’s goal was to “normalize” polygamous living.

My favorite comment of the night was courtesy of Mama Squirrel: ‘Kody is lucky none of the wives poisoned him’. I couldn’t watch from the beginning but excellent commentary. Thanks

Poor Christine not only was she dealing with postpartum depression, but she had to suck it up because Robyn “NEEDED an 11 day honeymoon.” Kody couldn’t be away from Sol & Ari for more than 3 days, but he can be away from newborn Truley for 11 days while his wife is suffering from postpartum.

I am so confused because I have no idea what in the world people are even talking about! I am not new. I watch on a regular basis but they have totally confused me today. I feel like I missed half the program, but I know I’m only in the beginning.
