The Press said a lot about how poorly Liverpool played. They pretty much ignored any idea of giving Rangers credit for winning at Anfield for the first time.
a year earlier around the same time we'd won the league beating QPR 2-1.... what a difference a year made. king Kenny had just quit we'd been knocked out the fa cup by Everton and we was losing the grip on the title..... for me this game was the beginning of the end of Liverpool dominance period.... a few years later Man United took over 😔😒😞😭
I was at that 2-1 game too. You only won with the obligotary penalty that was actually shown to be a foul a good yard outside the box on match of the day!
Shocking penalty decision. Though I blame poor officiating rather than any pro-Liverpool bias. And sadly, there is no certainty that today's hapless VAR system would overturn it.
you would love to be QPR , but unfortunately we dont tolerate glory supporters , idiots , other local dickheads , there is only one team in London and thats the Rangers 100% QPR
our one and only win at anfield, see us get battered so many times up there and never went that day, gutted!! how typical the ref gives a shite, penalty to them, still goes on today.......
We didn't get battered at Liverpool over the years though did we? Our performances had always been decent. I had seen them lose a couple 1-0, one game we lost 2-0 when we absolutely dominated the game from start to finish when Super Ray ran the show. I'd seen a 0-0 draw, a 1-1 draw and a ludicrous 3 - 2 defeat when we were leading 2 - 1 and Les got sent off for a second bookable for kicking the ball away which was actually a shot on goal right on the whistle. The winner that day was yet another Annfield penalty against us at the fourth attempt as the spice boys took it turns to go throw themselves to the ground and look at the ref. By law of averages he had to give one eventually! That 3-1 victory had been coming for many years. I'm just glad I was there to see it as I missed the Old Trafford mauling.
After the absolutely awful season we've been having (other than beating you know who in January), I needed to find these wonderful memories, as it's all been so bloody painful. I don't blame Harry, but Hughes for all those wasters who just want to turn up, get their money and not put in a shift. We had the same problem when we got relegated in the 90s. I also see that a load of sneers from fans of other clubs, such as one in Fulham Road, saying the Rs are in freefall.
1st time i went to Anfield....Not the last time though. thats me behind the i on the makita sign 1.34 best mat david next too me and Dad and brothe st behind us...we were supposed to be in the 2nd row but some scousers kindly swapped with us cheers YNWA!!!!
Same, was bought the tickets for my 9th birthday sat in the anfield road end with my Dad and my uncle. Was so excited to be there and then we got pumped 🙈
@@waynehigham6504 . I'm not a smart arse although I am a die hard Lvpl fan. Within 18 month's 'Nicol' had moved on, his best days were behind him plus he gave away the 3rd goal on that day against QPR
