The narrative LFC fans keep changing to feel good about themselves is so funny 😂 they mamaged a point in a game they were expected to win against a team that already had injuries and missing players and had 2 key players come off during the match. They also got given a huge let off for a disallowed winner - but that's not what we talk about huh
@@bigstelad what are you talking about? I'm saying Liverpool failed to beat an Arsenal team without Saliba and odegaard. Ad only managed to scrape a draw after Gabriel and timber got injured. The only missing player of relevance Liverpool missed out is Alison
one thing about nunez is that he doesn't check out of games even if he's not getting service. he was probing all game and putting in the yards off the ball. that attitude led to the goal
Completely disagree about Nunez. Worked his arse off playing deep first half when we were being dominated by Arsenal and then made a huge number of runs second half in behind getting no service as usual, other than the one Trent pass that resulted in his assist to Salah.
Fair, I don’t really think that’s my criticism though tbh. I like the player but I often wonder what someone in his position would do with the time and instructions he gets.
@@LaurenceMcKennaonLFCi feel like they’re not playing towards his strengths and to me that pass endo could’ve made around the 86 minute was an indication of that regardless of that i think he did a good job at trying to play that false nine roll and not being rash enough to just shoot the ball it seems like his decision making has improved
@@LaurenceMcKennaonLFC My concern for Darwin is that I don't think he fits into a Slot team tactically. As we showed yesterday and in previous games, he's dangerous when we transition quickly into attack but that's happening less often now we are aiming for more control and a slower more considered build up.
It's Slot's first season after a Euros summer. point away vs arsenal is nothing to be disappointed about. playing good or bad. A team can play well and still lose. recall the champions league final vs madrid. don't be fooled by the narrative that they had injuries. Timber is their starting LB, White is CB that rotates into a back 3 on occasion. Partey has played RB for arsenal numerous times and has inverted into midfield from there several times as well. Rice is better as a 6 than an 8. he has been playing 8 to accomodate Partey as the 6 when Saliba plays. liverpool, coming from an international break, played chelsea at home then liepzig away whilst arsenal played bournemouth away and shaktar at home. arsenal had a few extra days turnaround as well. Yes the performance was below par, but if we are saying that and keep picking up results then let it cook. I expect to win the next 4, including city at home. let's see how the table looks after that run
Trent is such an asset going forward, he has the vision and ability to execute crucial passes to the frontline, but I felt in a game like this where he needed to be more defensively present we missed out on having him in the buildup play until the last goal.
His passing has been dreadful recently and he loses the ball far too much whoich pts us under pressure. Still has moments of brilliance yes, but overall hes been quite poor. Distracted by the Real move he's working on I expect.
Only real shame here is Robbo. I hope he picks up, he's ofc has some good game this season but he was off it today. I hope thats a bug not a feature of his season
I do feel Robbo is both trying to adjust to a slightly different system, which is obviously more defensive in relation to Klopp, but also I feel he might be declining in his game slightly. Love him to bits Robbo, but it’s clear teams, especially Arsenal today, are targeting that side especially. Great video as always mate keep it up!
Robbo's been declining since few games ago. I've been watching the backline for the past few games, Trent is improving defensively and Robbo been our weakest link.
A big part of arsenals dominance came from Mac allister being cooked off the ball down arsenals right. Szobo’s physicality and energy made a big difference
Genuinely miss Gomez at left back. He was one of our consistently best players in that role last season. Earned the England call ups. Nullified Saka in the cup too.
Yeah I wonder why Slot doesn’t seem to want to go down that route, especially as Robbo is not at his best. Tbf Tsimikas has been looking better but is a riskier player
What people aren’t talking about is how we’re actually better this season than we were last, maybe we’ll miss that klopp effect late on in games where we need a goal but how many times did we rely on a late goal last season? it felt like every week we scored a 90th minute winner
I feel like i watched a different Nunez to you, i thought out of the forwards he was the only consistent threat throughout the game as well as the one who put in the biggest shift
I think we should have Mcallister and Curtis swapped around. Mcallister is prime further up and Curtis was superb further back making occasional runs forward as he did against Chelsea.
We were fortunate to get a point today. We struggled to work the ball out from the back. Many times, especially in the first half, Kellerher would kick the ball forward where Arsenal would collect it and recycle back to their attackers. Alisson distributes the ball better. Our midfield wasn't at its best in the first half but did enough. Diaz and Robbo were not good today. Not sure how Salah didn't score that first half chance but fortunately we capitalized on Arsenal's other mistake of the first 45 minutes. The Gaffer made the right changes at the 60th minute. Salah's goal was wonderful (great passes by TAA and Nunez). The lads were much better in the second half and we saw the game out. Arsenal fans will be mad for weeks about that disallowed goal and no corner kick at the end. Expect a lot of salt, enjoy it if that's your thing.
Not having a go at VVD but in my opinion he can learn from Konate. How Konate supports TAA. Vigil can help Robbo out a bit more especially against the top right wingers in the league. I feel for Andy, yes he isn’t the same as he was 3-4 years ago, that’s why Virgil or the tactics should allow Virgil to support him a bit more.
@@nellyprince7366I’m sorry but vvd was definitely partial blame for the first goal. You can’t expect diaz to track back for a counter attack like the one where saka scored
A point won when it was looking very unlikely. Results continue to go well for when we have not been playing well. Hate seeing us bossed in games but in the end result is all that matters. Its going to be a long hard season.
Bro we been bossed in the past two szns at the emirate, today was the most accomplished i hage seen us at the Emirates in 3 szns, y always the negativity i don't understand it
terrible performance, but I agree, the negativity is too damn high. people been waiting for this for their particular agendas. but yeah, Robbo is having a rough time, Trent is still very good. please start Szobo, and tsimikas.
Weird final statement? How is it going to be a “long hard season” based on what’s happened so far. Looks like a really fun, potentially great season atm. You don’t just “boss” every game especially when the opponents are decent and dangerous in their own right. If that’s all you want to see don’t watch the big games and just watch the ones against bottom half teams
I’m happy with our midfield depth to be honest, Gravenberch can sit or endo can play instead of him if he’s out, on the ball it’s not as good but off the ball endo is still good enough for sure. Macca starts nexto gravenberch or jones has proved he fits that role well if he can’t play then szoboszlai is the 10 with elliott as backup. That’s 6 players all more or less like for like profile wise
I think a point was fair today. We were by no means at our best, but we gave our quality enough time to shine to grab a point at the end. While we were not great, I don't think Arsenal was either. Hearing Commentary here in the US, you would think we were played off the park. But we had more possession, more passes, and more shots on target. Hardly the "dominant" Arsenal performance being sold.
I think you are right in terms of them being on an upward path and not walking along the ridge of completeness. It is still the very early days of the Slot era. 13 competitive games played (of a minimum of 49 this season) with 11 wins a draw and a defeat is great. Regardless of the quality of the opponents over many of the games - remember, in the league at least, every side plays all the others twice, when titles are won with over 90 points there are very few chances to drop any points, so there is always an expectation to win those games, so Forest aside we are performing at least as expected. If you look at the table right now though, Forest are performing better than many sides you probably wouldn't have expected them to be above, so, come May, it might not turn out to be as unexpected to have lost points to them. It's just a shame it was 3 and not 2. Today was funny though, there were times when I felt like we were waiting for the right moment to get the 2nd equaliser, as if they were worried that equalising might allow Arsenal to get a final winner, or that (had we got a third) it would have felt deflating to have then conceded an equaliser. It was as if Slot was thinking he wasn't going to allow our team to take the handbrake off in this game, given there's a big game in 5 weeks time against City (just 3 Premier League fixtures away), maybe he didn't want us to be too dominant, potentially to lull Pep into a false sense of security? Who knows what will happen between now and then.
Slot's mistake is thinking Jones can do the same job as Szobo. He can't. Our midfield got overun in the 1st half. Once Szobo came on, we regained control somewhat.
I was confident we'd get something from this match, so I'm glad we did. Honestly, it was Arsenal's match to lose because right now they are a much more complete team. The 1 thing I will point out is, the bad passes from our front 3 is the most frustrating part of our matches. It takes so many tries to score 1 goal. I feel like we just need that magic moment where they all click and they really get rolling. Clearly Darwin and Mo are forging a connection right now which is lovely to see. We may just need to be patient while this happens. I think 1 of the reasons why our midfield wasn't as effective is because they were busy trying to clean up after their messes. 😅 Of course, Arsenal did a good job limiting our midfield, too. Dom was also desperately needed. Overall, I am happy with the point. We are well on our way. YNWA
It’s funny how much people talked about arsenal’s injuries, obviously prior to the game if saka and timber were out aswell they’d be worse off but they only had 2 injuries for the game and 1 wouldn’t of started anyway, then the saliba red card was their own fault so that’s not an injury. Liverpool were missing Alisson and Jota who would’ve both started then elliott and bradley who would’ve come off the bench in this game were they fit
Trent maybe on the pitch but his head is in Madrid, we need to be onto him he’s been awful; especially his passing. Tsimikas should be starting. We have a N10 problem Jones clearly a 6 and Szoboszlai works hard but has no quality on the ball. Maybe Macca plays there?
Gakpo should have started. Tsimikas as well, agreed. we should buy Bryan mbeumo today. Szobo should have started. you have arsenal tall players in midfield curtis should have come on 2nd half
Not sure the Trent-specific hate Did good and they didn’t get through his wing. Can’t always expect him to create a goal, especially when he’s expected to sit back more
I think Arsenals strikers were really poor today, how many times did martinelli or saka get the ball 1v1 with trent or robbo then van dijk or konate would come along and double up on them, early in the game they found some joy like for the saka goal but we realised the strikers just weren’t taking up that position so if trent and robbo were beaten virg and konate were there to clean up cus no striker was holding them back
It doesn't matter a FUCK wether we're (and everyone ELSE is) 1st, 2nd, 3rd 4th or 5th. Analysis of the end-of-season at THIS stage is a little 'previous', to say the least. We're without a couple of OUR major movers, from each end of the pitch so arse claiming injury problems is bleurgh. We came through and we matched them, that's what matters. city? WHO gives fuck??
cause Trent was that good, that's why most our chances came from the right flank. Konate was delegated the passing job until it mattered, then Trent took over, got us a goal. Trent was solid the whole game. Konate MOTM.
VAR is wild. How are they drawing straight lines? A straight line (ie. the onside line) implies a few things. Why its so hard to show the goal line, side lines, onside line.... and then draw out the lines. Arsenal's second is not based off 90 degree angles for me. PL should utilize technology they do for the World Cup. The manual application of lines is infuriating as a spectator.
I feel the issue with us in possession is that our defenders are still playing klopp ball. We need them to find our midfielders more. Throughout pre season we did it perfectly and even the first few matches Trent looks off it. Feels like his mind is elsewhere. Never thought I'd say this but his passing has been awful recently
@@anish26295 I think you bugging, you talking about Robbo for sure. Tsimikas is our number 1 left back at the moment, it's official now. But Trent made that second goal happen.( Three world class players saved the game today)
@@SW-by9ob he's playing in a different system, with different demands on him... he isn't expected to be assisting anymore. There's nothing to suggest that recovery pace has "gone", if that were true he wouldn't be playing ahead of Tsimikas.
@@pixlhound He gets into attacking positions regularly where he crosses, and you only have to watch the games to see he's not got the legs he used to have. Tsimikas is decent but not great, and has been getting more game time than ever recently.
Bit rich to be suggesting other channels are lacking in their analysis and at the same time ignoring Trent having another disaster. Konate having to cover two positions because of him, which previously could have been excused because his distribution opened up other teams. But his distribution lately has been awful. Diaz was brutal. No end product and a generally a black hole when he got on the ball. No idea why you're trying to convince us otherwise. Robbo been shit for weeks. Need a new starting LB asap.
Macca and Robertson had a bad 1st half right? too many soft fouls also played into arsenal's strengths... ssolid if anonymous performances from others but a draw is a good result
Depleted? Saliba was out through suspension. Odegard is the only missing player. The rest of the players are first team players , apart from maybe trossard.(Who comes from the bench to change games) That is by no means a depleted squad
For me this performance was dissapointing, we didn't pose much of a threat outside of set pieces, we were often reactionary to arsenal's game, we didn't impose ourselves on the game until Gabriel went off, intensity wasn't as high as it could have been. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy with where we are at the moment, but there's something missing with this style currently, I trust Slott to do well, but the glazing is unreal I personally feel. It's glaringly obvious
Gakpo should have started. diaz can't play when teams lock the wide areas. Arsenal with midfield titans from AOT. complete Arsenal midfield domination. start Szobo. sub on Curtis later in the game. without our three world class players, we would have been worse. hopeful Arne slot learns from this.
@The_capital_groupWhat are you on about? LOL Arsenal fans just have so much ref complaining in them. You’re responding to a comment that admitted Liverpool had no threat. You went on your whole monologue while they agree with you.
