Darren's a great guest , explains his life story's very well in detail. You can tell his hearts in the right place, ended up in prison because of his childhood traumas.
@@EdwardCLin yes I understand your point, childhood trauma often leads to violence, criminality, drugs and homelessness in the victims. I think Darren would agree that ultimately he must take responsibility for his actions
@@yobeatthat85 yes you're correct I agree , at some point Darren has to realise you can't blame others for your own life , especially when you're a grown man.
Darren, love the comment about "you don't need to give them trainers, bcos you didn't have any, you need to give them the love and affection, that you didn't recieve" very true
"Absolutely Heartbreaking" ?? There are people who had it wayyyy worse than he did. They never done things he done. It's all well and good saying he's got "choose a life not a knife" but what's happened to that now? He'll throw the acronym up every once in a while, just for aesthetic reasons... he's asking people for money on his lives. What's that all about?
DARREN I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT YOU FOR A COMMENT. I HAVE NO ILL WILL. HOWEVER ONE OF YOUR PODCASTS MAYBE 2YEARS AGO. YOU TOLD US HOW YOU GOT SINGLE CELL STATUS BY WAKING TO YOUR PADMATE SMOKING SMACK " I JUMPED OFF THE BED AND PUNCHED FUK OUT OF HIM, " THIS WAS SAID WITH VENOM BEARING IN MIND HE WAS PROBABLY 8 STONE AND VERY SCARED, HENCE THE FACT HE WAS DOING IT AT THAT TIME. BUT IF YOU GO BACK TO WATCH IT I THINK YOU WILL BE MORTIFIED WHAT WITH THE PROGRESS YOU HAVE MADE. HE, I BELIEVE, COULD BE THE VULNERABLE PEOPLE YOU WANT YOUR MESSAGE TO REACH. I WAS ON A WING WHEN STEPHEN WAS THERE DANNY WAS ON B WING AND THOUGH DANNY WAS 5 MAN UP STEPHEN MADE NO EFFORT TO SAY HELLO.. LIKE I SAID BEFORE AM NOT CASEN YOU. I AM NO GANGSTER I JUST THINK YOU COULD BE USING YOUR PLATFORM TO HELP US AND SWERVING THE GANGBANGER SHIT. I WILL LEAVE ON THIS.. YESTERDAY IS HISTORY, TOMMOROW IS A MYSTERY BUT TODAY IS A GIFT, DATS WHY IT'S CALLED THE PRESENT
I love Darren's passion for Liverpool and his people. That's what it's all about, community and respect for each other. My grandfather was a scouser. Worked the docks aged 14 and came from a big family, very poor. Volunteered for the army in 1939 and ended up in India and came out a decorated soldier with kings medal for bravery after the war. He was very humble about it and had a great typical scouser sense of humour. There's something about scousers they are very friendly nice people, just like many other northerners. It's a shame like Darren said that 1% ruin it for the 99% by giving Liverpool and other cities in the north a bad reputation when in reality most northerners are some of the nicest people you can meet in England.
There needs to be a movie made about Darren Gee. I admire him for his honesty and his compassion to help the most vulnerable. Keep doing what you're doing Darren. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Or a movie about his abs.................oops just kidding, been watching his story and it is a good thing he is trying to wake the kids up from. That in itself is a long road, they are lost!
Absolutely ……. See w hat did there? 😂😂😂😂 I get a little distracted! Obvs not on these stomach churning heartbreaking tragic videos made about his life & of course the family he loved so much
@@bushcraftadventure5215 for most people who turn around and change there ways its after loosing alot of people and being alone for a long period of time. having kids dont stop nobody from doing crime/violence.
A huge point Darren brought up is that if an adult is asking a child to keep a secret, don’t keep their secret. It’s not a child’s secret to keep. Say something to someone that listens. If they don’t help you, then tell someone else. It isn’t your secret to keep no matter what they say.
@Kevin yes but he did his time and learned from his mistakes and is trying to give something back to society by helping kids. Surely that's got to count for something?!
Thanks for having the heart and the honesty to tell this story Darren. I think what you are doing to educate people on the negative nature of drugs and violence speaks volumes on how good a heart you have
love this podcast, i follow Darren Gee and fully invest in his word. We can all change, change is everything.Seen all the slagging off between influential podcasters and can absolutely understand the reasons for this being put out. Sending love, strength and positivity to Darren Gee and his message.
@Ritchie no, but I believe his heart is in the right place. Nobody walks in his shoes. I just think we should all take a piece of the goodness the podcast showed. Happy New Year.
Looked after himself physically and mentally and educated himself as you can tell listening to him I would be happy to help this man any day of the week
well i was 1 of them kids aswell and still have emotional distress to this day becouse of the law and goverment in scotland but is brilliant to see darren so strong and posative after what him and his family has been through .
I hope it doesn’t upset or unsettle Darren having to keep reliving this stuff. I think it would be good to focus on the future and what he has to look forward to as he’s witnessed enough sadness as it is ❤
Super happy to see this dialogue. Well done Darren for creating this incentive to mentor the community to reduce harm. You make a difference & your partner & child must be so proud of you.
I've only ever seen short clips about Darren G & if I'm honest had a negative opinion of him, this & a few more of him talking about his life & opening up with his emotions has really changed my mind.hes a nice bloke very intelligent & had a traumatic life.his stories are fascinating & I for one will be buying his book, thank you for sharing your stories
Spent a lot of jail with his bro Danny and Ste in my late teens, early 20s. Danny is not of this world, a terrifying individual but if he liked ya he'd kill for you literally. Messed up what happened to Danny and Darren as kids and people need to be held responsible for what they did and what they created! Keep up the good work Darren, your ain't been n angel but your trying, and you're trying more than most. Keep it up. Man your an inspiration.
@@cs9115 thanks for info, iv just recently came across all of this the past couple weeks after seeing Darren on the British gangsters programme on Netflix interesting story
Love Daz and Shaun. Watched this several times in the past (or portions of it). But glad it's back up in full. Fewer characters are as compelling and passionate as Mr Gee.
Whenever I hear these stories of men ending up in prisions for large chunks of their lives there's always a story of abuse that goes with it while they were children.
Wow what a man👌🏼 his determination and resilience and passion is a force to be reckoned with!! Love this Darren’s attitude smash through everything no matter what!
I actually like Darren Gee. It's horrible to see him full of pain, struggling to trust anyone and frightened of letting his guard down to accept friends because he's so traumatised. The guy is still trying to send a good positive message even with no loyal backers and all the odds stacked against him.
Wow!!! Just sat through this what a powerful message darren has.... Hopefully he can carry this out.... To turn your life around after a life of crime big respect darren
I have the utmost respect for what you're doing nowadays; hope to shake your hand some day. Keep doin what you're doin, stay safe, respect to Darren. The real ones always stand out; he's a real one
Whew! Powerful! I'm happy that your companion keeps you from brushing your hands of him. Obviously he needs good, unconditional support and you Shaun, provide that. The ups and downs you 2 have can be very frustrating but I understand. There are some people we just believe in and unconditional support is crucial to recovery. BUT, don't compromise your own mental health. ❤️ sending love to you both from Michigan, usa
God this made me cry. Seriously weep. I'm so sorry Darren. I admire your strength of character, I really don't know where you get it from. God Bless you man, bless your efforts. Know there is a small patch of love for you in New Zealand where I am from. And we could do with your message down here. May that mind and heart endure ❤ 🙏
Alot of normal people think the police would never lie or do something to make someone look guilty of something that they’re not but they do. They definitely do.
I get Darren’s anger towards police tactics especially against his brother but by the sounds of it they needed to fight fire with fire, Darren has to remember his family terrorised their own estate for years with drugs, gang wars, beatings and murders…it’s hard to have too much empathy
He's a see you next Tuesday. Lies all the time, Is still trying to be a big man and seems to have given zero fucks for the absolute carnage this rat wrought on our city.
Regarless ofbwether you feel empathy for them or not who want to live in a world where the police kill and nearly kill people because they dont like them, some people might think it justice because they do ot to criminals that they know are guilty but they cant prove it but thats not always the case some of them are just bullies with a license to hurt people from poor areas
Obviously darren no fine well that he was part of but he has turned his life around an comes back trying to help those that are doing same thing now ,, he deserves credits for that I my book
Regardless of what criminals do, the police take an oath, they have to do the right thing always, they have a duty of care, if what this guy is saying and I don’t doubt it tbh they failed not only this family, but every family that rely upon the services 😔
Darren gee not heard bout u till me son mentioned u today he's an artist Wes Morris he told me to watch ur podcast to learn about u wot an interesting man wot uv been through no wonder u r as strong as u r today loads of love and respect Danny gee x
Omg.without a shadow of a doubt the most gripping most passionate podcast I’ve ever seen..the stuff this man and his brothers gone through is unimaginable.I wish I was in a position to help out.I can’t imagine going through a quarter of that..keep fighting Daren don’t let them dirty corrupt twats get the better of you now not after all you’ve been through..if shit gets that bad again I’d pick you up and give you a roof over your head and feed you.. ❤
Oh, you are appreciated, Darren. You have walked the walk, which is why you are special. None of those so-called professionals could have lived your life for one day. So sorry about your Billy.
Hey Darren and Shaun. Where I live in Luton knife crime escalated. Last week a kid was stabbed in Primark clothing shop in the afternoon. I myself had my arm broken in two places in November by an assault from a beggar. I should point out I’m an elderly woman. I truly believe that law and order is breaking down. Am I imagining things? Are Manchester and Liverpool more dangerous now?
Hope, Hope, Hope - “Big, Bright Opportunities” come to fruition for Darren in 2022! Stay Strong Darren, you’re on the verge of a mega growth spurt! 🔥💪🔥💪🔥💪
Yes I think so also the needs to catch a break somewhere he would definitely be useful somewhere doing motivational speaking, can speak better than that bumbling Boris Johnston 💯
Its a quality podcast this one, Darren needs credit for the way he puts his story over etc very passionate and concise. Terrible that they won't allow him to see his brother even under supervision. I'd have loved to see Darren and Frenchy have a sit down and just a general chat about Liverpool now and then and how they think the whole region can change for the better etc
What a small world. I’m from Los Ángeles, yet I found the same kinds of dirty cops; only difference is I’m a woman. I was a Volunteer for Los Angeles Police Dept, in Volunteer Surveillance. (It sounded good at the time.) The day I was told I was made Volunteer of the Year, I was battered & raped by a cop. Rogue cops stalked us for a year and the cop who raped me tried to frame my husband. I had severe PTSD. I couldn’t find an attorney or psychologist - no help at all. We finally escaped to Texas, where we could at least defend ourselves. (Self-defense is impossible in California.) I finally got EMDR therapy for PTSD after 3.5 years. Jesus! Abuse is everywhere on this planet! My saving grace is that I study psychology autodydactically. We all have to bootstrap ourselves, just like Darren Gee. I Absolutely LOVE your podcast! Keep it up!
Brilliant podcast Shaun. Well done Daz for sharing your story. As I've said to you before, everyone deserves a second chance lad. Keep fighting the fight and stay on the right path 💙👍🙏
Keep up the good work Darren! Keep having these great guests on Shaun! The message needs to be sent out. Also Darren, as for love from Liverpool, the good book says 'A prophet is never accepted in his own country'.
@@shaunattwoodOFFICIAL Shaun im a little concerned your not reading the comments your putting likes and love hearts to some comments your condoning are abuseing darren and his story sorry for replying on this thread Wich is not related to what I'm saying but it was the easiest way to reply directly to yourself, my point being if I was Darren reading these comments and seeing your love for some of them I would feel disrespected to say the least so if you respect Darren and his vunerable mentality I'd strongly suggest that this will lead to Darren replying in an offensive manner and maybe opening a similar can of worms to which you fell out over previously i hope I'm making sense bro some of the comments you've shown love to are disrespectful and character assassinating towards Darren and his story , and condoning that behaviour makes u apart of it pay more attention to your comments bro
I'm from Coventry in west Midlands, love Darren Gee, He talks REAL SHIT that Only Street People would Understand... Trying to Make a change for the Good....
When you go through certain stuff, it ends up catching up with you later on in life and shows itself in unhelpful ways. You've gotta admire Darren for the shit hand he was dealt and the way he's been able to turn his life around. It's not easy when you have a colourful past to move on from it. Fair play Darren 👏
PEACE LOVE RESPECT its great from you speaking from your heart! From watching you speaking in the past on many past speeches on podcasts , YOUR 💯 bang on whit your lows and finding your self being USED from RATS and the Systems that have given you strength !! Love from the Muslim brothers x
this man gets alot of stick but i find him to be the realest out of all these criminal speakers. no one could say they would fancy a one on one with him and he doesnt glamourise the life at all
He's talking a lot of sense. About putting kids in cells with older men. And also about kids on the street on drugs. Then they have kids and it's a vicious cycle
I can vouch for every word he's said about the abuse in the care system god bless you your my hero the truth will set us all free and these evil bastards will get the judgement they deserve in this life or the next
I was brought up in the care system for 15 years, my mum is a alcoholic and my dad is a ex heroin addict. My experience while I was in care was mixed I was physically and sexually abused by one lot of carers and I reported it to the social services and all I got off them was it’s what’s happens to naughty children so I took it to the police and I got paid off to be quiet
Sounds like the whole family didn’t stand a chance and have been badly let down by the system. I think it will take a life time of therapy for Darren and his brothers to try and recover.
I mean fair play to Darren for reforming himself but never forget that his little firm back in the day caused a lot of misery, overdoses, in-direct crime and he was basically selling poison (heroin&crack) to vulnerable people and funding a nicer than average lifestyle. People are quick to forget all that aren't they.
@@arghshead9004 It's a highly addictive substance (hence the class A categorisation) that hijacks decision making areas of the brain. Try some yourself and let me know how you get on
Absolutely heartbreaking what Darren talks about - because it's all so damn true - I fuxxin hate this government RIP Billy - you'll never be forgotten 🙏 💔
Darren gee is so right about drugs it's unreal. As an ex heroin addict 30 years clean, the war on drugs was lost years ago. Its still in every city, town and village of Britain. They learnt nothing from . AL capote and prohibition. The government needs to listen to people like Darren because its only gonna get worse, it saddens me to say the least.
What a great podcast once again very sad but Darren is one of the realist out there sean he’s lived the life and trying hard you have helped him do this I’m sure as you are a genuine bloke to happy new year to you both
Respect To Both Men, from Belfast, wee Northern Ireland, (both doing absolute fantastic powerful work) (a lot of people been through so called war here for 30 years, but was not war it was terrisom, anyway nuf for now) Both Shaun and Darran doing fantastic powerful work.
Absolutely amazing interview 👏👏well done Darren gee for sharing your heartfelt ,emotional ,raw ,personal story in the hope of saving others 💯💯 you are an inspiration ✅✅✅ respect my friend 👏👏so powerful
