Love this video. Brings back memories of my mum, and her stories. Her family lived on Kirkdale road. She emigrated in 1959, but visited home (Liverpool) in 1965 with my brother Phillip and me (not born yet) in April 1965. I was born May 1965 at Walton Hospital. It's liking seeing her hometown through her eyes. Thank you!
thanks for posting,l now live in spain, and miss my home city and most of all the people. never met anybody like them any where in all my travels.i grew up in everton ,went to rosscommon st, school never missed a day loved it so much, happy times indeed, best regards john
Thanks for this! Been a good few years since I was in my hometown of Liverpool and I prefer to remember her as she was - dignified and just a great place to live. I enjoyed seeing the photo of the Brittanic - my grandad was Chief Engineer on her for a few years and he took me on board to see her when she came back to Liverpool to be scrapped.
My Grandparents came come Lancashire, my grandmother from Liverpool, I have had a fascination for the place for a long time, but have yet to visit. I hope one day to take my wife there.
Fuck that's brilliant, so many memories. I wish somebody had some pictures of the neon "Post it to Vernons," lights which animated a man posting his football coupon. Absolutely loved that thanks so much, fuck me I wish I was back there.
Lovely little video, nice selection of photos, one thing I notice most in the street scenes is how clean everywhere looks, do any of the buildings shown hear still survive ? (particularly the VERNONS pools building)
Love the pictures, my only gripe is they are not on the screen long enough. A few more seconds each to give me a chance to take it all in would be appreciated. Keep up the good work. Ps, any pictures of Daisy st school?.
