Livestream: Trekking Up To Landmannalaugar in Iceland 

OMG! That was incredibly beautiful! Thank you for this incredible journey through a gorgeous landscape. And kudos to the drone operator for showing the panoramic view. Those blue lakes on top of that glacier area was just amazing. You just want to get in there and swim in what feels like the top of the world there! The old volcanoes are still venting and bubbling around. I love rocks and would have had a rock pick and a backpack just for rocks...obsidian...etc..I saw so many amazing types of rocks! And the moss and small flowers along the way...just a beautiful countryside.

I don't know what's more beautiful the volcanoes or the mountains! What an extraordinary landscape!

I visited your Country three years ago. It is the most beautiful place on Earth! Not only that, the Icelandic people are so friendly and nice. I can think of few places I have visited where I felt more welcome! I can't wait to visit Iceland again!

Thank you for sharing. We did this hike 2018. Weathercondition from sunshine to hailstorm on the top and heavy rain on the way back. Always worth to climbe up there, to explore the Beauty of Mother Earth.

Some very excellent camera work there. Nothing moving too fast, giving the viewer lots of time to take everything in. I also really appreciate you not polluting the video with disposable electronic music. The silence is perfectly appropriate for a video like this. I enjoyed that, thank you.

The images are fantastic, so many vivid colours in these mountains! And the way this has been filmed is particularly clever, all images are really what one wishes to see, the camera moves in an ideal way, horizontally and vertically, close to the floor at times, as well as from high above the ground. Good job, many congratulations to the Grapevine team!

Hiking and exploring this area was a favorite for all of us serving at the Naval Air Station at Keflavik in 1979-80. Not to mention having a good soak in the Landmannalaugar Hot Springs after a day of exploring was great!

if the fox is the only native then what did they eat ? Obsidian looks beautiful, they use it in making scalpels , It is the sharpest material and can be knapped so thin that it slices so well .

Did Icelanders know this volcanic activity was going to start, before it actually broke the surface, and for how long? I would imagine some calderas rise slowly, reveal themselves long beforehand. I live ... plenty close enuf to Yellowstone. I've heard it has been rising for years, but everyone carries on, not taking it as indication of anything worth taking action. After all, these are geological processes that span way beyond any single lifetime.

The colors are very Kodachrome and filmlike. This begs the question of what camera was used and what software was used by the Colorist.

So, I didn't quite get why that part of the walk up to the mountain was really smooth like it had been graded? Can you explain again please?🙂

First I must say that hearing the guide snorting and blowing to clear his nose was not pleasant, a bit gross even. BUT: What a beautiful view to start off with, some gorgeous colors and forms, . . . from a distance I could've sworn there was a person standing on the slope of that hill @4:05 . . .but no! . . . you should give that figure a name! 😀 . . . Obsidian = Neolithic mans' 'Sheffield shield blades' . . . I'm wondering if the early Vikings used it that way? . . . also you said the red in the volcano ahead oxidized iron, is that where you might also find alabaster? I can imagine when it rains the colors of the rocks would be very dramatic. I imagine that many would be realizing that their fitness levels aren't to quite up to his hiking lark, but keep it up after you get home and it will get better. The landscape is SO rugged you really can imagine what the planet used to look like millions of years ago. I assume that is an old lava bed that you’ve been hiking through.
