Thank you Jamie, again your information is very informative and you have given clear ideas and channels where to look for housing and the different types. Shared housing, although the cheapest would be my very last option, even the studio apartments are more appealing to me.

What specific programs/schools provide living arrangements for teachers in Costa Rica, Spain or Mexico?

In these countries unless you are a certified teacher (not just TEFL) working at an international school you will typically need to find your own accommodation.
