NO CLOTHES DRAWER OR TOILET TOUR??!!?! I adore how, from the begininning when we were practically begging you to tell us what/where/how /who your job was- you politely, nicely and righteously told us what was and what WASN'T our business. What you were and were NOT going to share. Some things don't need to be shown or shared and often people can show and tell too much. I applaud you for finding a seemingly perfect balance as a youtuber with tens of thousands of subs(wow, look at you) sharing personal experiences with us , your audience. Brava !!
What type of power station do you use? Can you do a video about it and show how it charges and how much power each appliance uses. Do you have an electric toothbrush? What are all the uses and why did you decide on that particular one? Thanks so much.
Please get a carbon monoxide alarm/sensor also, when you go to Alaska, you are going to want screens on those windows (they are cheap and slid over the window frame). The bugs will eat you alive. Good luck, enjoy and be safe!
Agreed! And I think they’re going to be bad this year. We still have snow at our house and i already have two huge mosquito bites! I have seen a screen for the sunroof, too. I planned to make myself some of the window cover screens and one for the sunroof just for local Alaska adventures. Hope she gets some of them before her trip up here!
You did good! Looks and functions perfect! I have a tip that might help some day. If you are every feeling unwell, flu, cold that wont go away, etc...and you just need to rest. Try to park by the nearest walk in clinic in case you get worse and need to go in. Its hard when youre alone to get/drive to help sometimes so try and position yourself if you are waiting out wether to go in or not. Safe travels!
I've seen you Tubers when they get really sick they get a hotel room...I understand the nomadic lifestyle but it really makes sense to be better safe than sorry.
Seriously I'm so in tune with you and your videos that I literally just clicked on your channel I was like where is my girl at clicked on your channel and there you are. You posted 3 minutes ago!!! In my head you're my dear friend that I always worry about out there in the world. God got you covered❤🙏🏼
I love the way you think things through, do a lot of research and then proceed. So many van lifers just buy a bunch of stuff without a clear vision of the outcome. Then the next thing you know they are changing everything because it didn't go as planned.
If you put the weathertech side window deflectors, you can crack your windows open and no one can see that they're open and you get fresh air in and rain out.
Awesome...your small space is so functional and organized. I'm 5'1" as well and I just love how I can fit so comfortably in both big and small spaces. ❤🎉
I love, love, love your set I’m 5’1 also, we are the perfect height. Make sure you put cotton balls with peppermint oil around the vehicle and inside to keep the mice out. You can also use the spray and spray around your tires and inside it will keep unwelcome visitors out . I learned that tip from @wheresTiffany another van lifer, she showed how she keep mice away.
Hi Nomi, The newly built bedding in the SUV looks amazing & carpenters did an excellent job. It's a perfect fit & definitely suits your needs. We're incredibly proud of you for making every effort to keep your viewers informed as a nomad. 🙂
I honestly was so happy to see you looking over your shoulder as you’re moving things around in your SUV, so many videos I’ve seen you doing things in your van and people are walking so close to you right behind you and it seem like you didn’t even know they were there. Scary to think that somebody just come up on you unknowingly. So I’m glad to see your situational awareness has gotten better. ❤ love you Nomi and your videos. So excited for your upgrades to come. The install.
I see you changing this layout in the future. Why? Build is perfect for you now, but stealth is not having to go out of the ride to 6:29 get to all your stuff...peace
Looks great only one item you should move is the cooker sitting on very top - unsecured - if your break suddenly it could fly out and hit you in the back of your head. - i would move it under bed? Just food for thought
You can check tire pressure on lower left hand side of steering wheel. There’s like three little switches. Flip through them and tire pressure will come up on screen in front of you. You can also check other things through those options. Just learned that for myself. lol. Drove my dealership crazy getting them to check my tires every week. lol
I admire Nomi!! She a lot braver and more of an adventurer than i will ever be. I love watching her videos and living vicariously through her. Thank you, Nomi. Travel-on girl ❤ ✌️
Hey, Beautiful Soul! So happy for your new build ❤ May I just advise: you should cover your power station with the garbage bag or whatever you prefer any time you’re away from your rig. Criminals know its value, you don’t want them to see it. Tinted windows have never been a barrier for stealing stuff from ppls cars. Sending you lots of love and light ❤
But you can’t get to the drawer storage from inside. And I’m thinking it will be a tight fit to sit in there on the bed it’s so high. Nice carpentry and perfect for. What I love about it is it will probably easily move to a van if you ever change vehicles some day.
My question is😭 what would happen if u were to cook and u forgot something in the draw lol and it’s at night and freezing? I love her videos but making dinner in the front seat and all ur stuff in storage in the back is crazy. Granted grab everything u need but u kno u gonna forget that one seasoning lol
I think the drawers should be facing toward inside im 5'1 also. Seems like it would the bulky the way the set up is. But to each their own. Happy adventures await🎉
If the drawers were facing inward the depth wouldn't be as much as she has and she'd have to move her bed every time she wanted to grab something out of it
Sweetie, I love what works for you, and I admire your personality. But for me, the downfall is that you have to open the trunk door to get things or cook ❤ But I believe in you, and besafe on your Van Life❤❤❤❤
I'm so glad your build turned out the way you wanted it. For myself, I 'd only last a day. Loved your van, though. You're pretty amazing, and I hope you have fun!
It’s a good build. The top portion maybe could have been made to access from the inside so that you would not have to get out to get to ALL of your things on cold days. 🤔
Build is a good use of your small space😍, curious to see what changes you would consider making after living for awhile to make it much more functional, those are always the best videos when considering a build like these especially regarding accessibility to any storage issues without the need of opening your door 🤔
The company did a nice job on the build. The only thing I would be concerned with is the fact you need to have the back door of your suv open in order to access those drawers. It doesn't appear you can open those storage areas with the door closed.
I’m about to convert an older mini van here in the uk. Your words have made me feel even more encouraged. Thank you, love your videos, so relaxing. Take care. 😊
Looks really cozy, I'm happy that you are comfortable, and content with your life. Enjoying and living life to the fullest. Stay safe and may God bless you. Thanks for sharing your life.
I went hiking at Red Rock this morning & thought of you, then I went to smiths to grab canned tuna & you’re standing next to me lol. I didn’t say Hi cause I’m a very shy person.
I'm 4'11" which is great for fitting in my minivan. I'm so short, I can sleep across the back seat and not have to have a bed. I've been sleeping on the couch for years because I sleep in the wrong position for my back if I'm on a bed. I have a bunch of throw pillows I can use to even it out. Then I'll have room for more stuff, build-wise. I'm still in the planning, list making and clearing out stages . I'm giving myself to the end of the year. In the meantime I'm researching what is necessary if I want to travel to Vancouver Island in BC and maybe stay there. It's no better than the U.S. right now but I might as well be where I want to be for my remaining years (I'm 76) and my social security will go further in Canada. Oops! Got carried away for a minute there. Loving your build!! The silent close drawers will also close by themselves if you just give 'em a lille push. I love not having drawer pulls, too. Have fun!
So in order to get things in the drawers you have to get out of the Subaru and open the hatch? I see that as a huge inconvenience ! But if you're happy with it that's all that matters!
Exactly and she can have a house if she wants this is what she wants to do ! She is a nomadic introvert ! Her van can’t go through terrain the way her suv can and she’s got money to do this this is how she envisions happiness and joy this time in her life and I’m sure before she does anything she gets with God !!!
Costless suggestion: get a cardboard box and place it on the empty back seat to use as a little stand to set your laptop on when you're laying in the bed watching movies on your laptop. You can fold/flatten it when you're not using it and slide it anywhere so it doesn't take up space. It'll have the screen leveled or higher than the bed for comfort while watching. And also, I'm not sure if they sell these or if you have to get them custom made, but screens for your windows so that you can open them and get a breeze without worrying about bugs getting in.
Thank you for explaining the bathroom set up. I never wrote in your videos asking about it but I was intrigue on how would you do if you have a bathroom emergency.
Love Love Love you girl..... Just a note about your hiking alone. I also hike alone; however, you should always have a Garmin or Zoleo that you could send an SOS with your GPS location. I twisted my ankle hiking solo and this saved my life. Stay Blessed and keep those videos coming. I always squeal silently when I see a new one come out!
Love your videos. You might want to let your insurance company know you have a custom build in the vehicle. Your insurance company could give you problems if you need to file a claim and they didn't know you had a custom build
I REMOVED MY SPARE AND USED THAT DPACE FOR BACK-UP STORAGE......TRUST ME when I tell you ..... IF YOU ARE GOING TO CANADA/ALASKA you are going to want to get a 5 gallon bucket with a SCREW ON LID. You WILL have a mouse issue with your food like that. Have you EVER had a mouse run across your face ??? I HAVE. Learned my lesson. ALL MY FOOD is on LOCKDOWN. In a storage Tote /5Gallon Bucket.
Hello there girl! You should have showed us your makeshift toilet. I want to have an idea, in case I go traveling. Please let us know, at least for me, it would be helpful, as I’m a lady. Thank you‼️ 🤗
Good morning Nomi. Good to see you, excited to see the install. Wow that build is awesome, they did a great job, and so much room to store things, ❤it.
God bless and safe travels, exploring and adventures. Your videos are so informative. I pray God goes before, beside and ahead of you always keeps you safe. 🥰🙏☀️🌞💕💗Betty
My only concern is…should you have a flat tire, how on earth do you get to your spare and jack?!? You’d have to pull the whole build out or am I missing something???
I wanted to point out that the bed platform may bugger up the back of the front passenger seat. Maybe put some type of foam or something on the end if it shifts. Love ya girl!
You should remove that seat behind the driver seat and let them install you a toilet there when you're on the road or in the desert you will have something you can use without getting out of your SUV
