Facebook, now known as Meta, is expanding its Company Headquarters in Menlo Park, CA by building the Facebook City or Willow VIllage, which will significantly increase its presence in Silicon Valley. Real Estate in Menlo Park is some of the most expensive in the entire Bay Area Real Estate Market, but what is it actually like to Live in the city?
Tech has had a big impact on Menlo Park because of the Facebook HQ and its proximity to a number of other Tech Giants, but Menlo Park is also known as the Capital of Venture Capital since Sand Hill Road is home to many of the World's Largest Venture Capital Firms. In neighborhoods like Sharon Heights, however, you'll feel mostly secluded and tucked away from all of the hustle and bustle of a busy work day. Menlo Park is really a wonderful place to call home!

Thanks for the tour, Spencer. I spend my childhood and much of my adult life in Menlo Park. I left in 1990 for a work transfer to Chicago. I retired in 2015 but by then was priced completely out of going home. It has only gotten worse since. I miss Borrone's, Kepler's and BBC. Saturday's at Zotts etc. I'm homesick as hell but I do love seeing that the old home town is thriving. 😍

@@suzyq5629 So I hear. The Dutch Goose, Zotts and even Alice’s up on Skyline have succumbed. I guess it proves the old adage that you can never go home again. 😢. Thanks for the reply.

I've spent most my adult life living in bad neighborhoods. Shootings, crime, shady people. My dream is to buy a small house for myself in Menlo Park where I can feel safe enough to walk outside and talk to neighbors.

Isn’t the place you talk about is next door to East Palo Alto which was the murder capitol of the us back in the early 2000’s

Palo Alto is also “next” to East Palo Alto and is one of the most expensive cities in the country.

What type of annual salary do you need to have at Facebook in order for you to be able to afford to buy a house in Menlo Park as a fist time home buyer ?

You don't need to work at FB to live in Menlo Park. There are many cities within 30 minutes that become 1/2 the price. However, for a starter condo that's a 2 bedroom, it would be $875,000. You would need to make around $200k as a collective family. Many starting engineers at Meta make around $170k
