Start this new chapter with me as I move into my SUV, beginning my full time SUV life - Van life - Car life, whatever you call it! In this video, I'm converting my 2011 4Runner to a livable space, and giving you a tour of my setup.

Stay strong. I'm a 57 year old grandmother, and will fully testify that freedom is the only thing that matters after caring for children. Once you have it, you see life, the world differently-- peace, no matter the cost-- is heaven on earth. I've lived off grid, in CO-- no electricity, no running water. You find a way to make it work. Great build out! I recommend that you get your rear doors, rear windows & tailgate windows tinted with limousine tint. That’ll help keep the prying eyes in the gym & store parking lots from seeing your stuff. There’s a lot for them to see. Especially, your Air Jordan collection!

Good recommendation! I currently have my windows super dark, but I wanted to still be able to see out of the rear. I decided to just blackout my rear window cover. It’s been great!! Thanks for hangin, homie!!

Dont forget to get you some refectics window shades. Weathertech, a lil pricy but worth it, have them for all your windows, ready for use. Also, they will help you with insulation along with your privacy.

Great build for an SUV! What will be your heat source? What will be your cooling source when it’s hot? I’m going to be testing a Toyota RAV4. So I greatly enjoyed this. It gave me some ideas.

I plan to stay warm with a couple things, like a good low-temp sleeping bag, space heater, heated blanket, and insulated window covers. I plan to do a video that goes over how I stay warm, so stay tuned! 😃😃 At my elevation, staying cool will be pretty easy. I really only need good ventilation and a fan. 😎 fortunately, the nights stay pretty cool.

Nice work! You may want to move your CO monitor to the same level as your head while sleeping. And how are you securing your kicks so they don't fly off the shelf?

Thanks! I do plan to move the CO detector. Just gotta find a good spot out of the way. My shoes conveniently wedge into place between the shelves. So they hold themselves in place. The ones on top are held in place by a bungee cord stretched across them. It’s been working great!

Ive always been told that a carbon momoxide detector should be below where you sleep, since once it rises up to where you have it youre already a goner 👍

Both. I have them tinted pretty dark, and I use reflectix window covers for additional privacy and as a thermal barrier

if you plan on doing this long term you will need to be able to stand up. high top vans a bus or sailboat does a much better job at comfort and class. being in a 4runner is cute but you lack function for style. I guess you fgotta figure it out for yourself! @@dirtmartians3534
