I am and I'm very grateful. I used to feel that way about a particular family member. He'd use money and other things to control my life. When I wanted to move out or be a chef, he'd tell me I couldn't get an apartment without his help or he wouldn't help pay for culinary school. I'd tell him, often, how that made me feel, to no avail. When I became an adult and could do things on my own, I told him I'd rather struggle without his help than not live my life the way I wanted to. Eventually that made him change and now my family no longer tries to , intentionally or unintentionally, hold me back. I hope things get better for you ❤️

Hi, Moosa here! Yep, yep, I...agree. The first winter in the car was a real shocker. This past winter she rode out beneath her blankets and, admittedly, never complained. Not once. Still, on my carlife-list is about three style of sleeping bags that I plan to entice her with before things get too cold! Wish me success!

I agree. For one, stealth parking is easier because my car blends in with other cars in parking lots. Also, my vehicle doesn’t need as much gas as a van. Gas prices are rising where I live, so I’m grateful for that. Those are 2 of my favorite pros about car life. Thank you for the nice comment!
@@lk2j938 the only pro for a van for me and my life style is space. Everything else is literally a con. Parking, driving, gas, remaining stealth, staying minimum just way too much. Carlife is easier to maintain and more fitting for my lifestyle.
Glad you choose the WM & the Planet Fitness. My dad warned against EVER stopping at rest stops. He's warned us since the '70s. If you're on the road, Loves truck stops have showers. Not sure how much, but my uncle was a long haul trucker & used to tell me about loves. For heat in winter, I use a heated throw that plugs into an adapter in my lighter (or could plug into your box) w a shutoff. I also have a down sleeping bag that goes down to -20° I put as the base layer then I snuggle under my faux down comforter. I also layer up and cover my head and I wear fleece lined socks, fleece lined leggings, & fleece lined top and I'm still in the oversized house I got after my Exodus. But now the kids are grown & flown. Life is too short to keep paying for wasted space. I like the ideas and it's not just for car/van lifers. They're great to implement into just downsizing. Also glad to know the type of car you have. I'm in something similar and at 5' I'm GREAT!😊 ~Great video!
Hi. About the warmth ... maybe an electric blanket could work, though you have to be careful with it. I've heard of people using it with their power source.
What REALLY helped my SUV for heat and cold: Insulation. I removed all the panels and installed a peel and stick closed cell foam. $50. and some elbow grease. Much quieter and stays warmer/cooler. So much about living in an SUV is about a bunch of tiny things, changes and additions (and withdrawals-took out backseats and most of the interior molded panels). You’re doing so great.🌿

I use a hot water bottle when I’m in my van and usually the water is just warm enough to wash with in the morning so I don’t feel like I’m wasting it :)
Hi Monique, I am a new subscriber to your channel and would love to hear you speak about being an introvert and how that effects your relationship with others. Being around a lot of People can be draining and I need my alone time. In these time we are living in has made me enjoy my space even more and now bc of covid I get that space with out have to explain anything. Just last week I turned down a baby shower, we just wanna be safe I said . Truth is I didn't want to be out at a park on my Saturday off around people I barely know. You said you don't have friends I can relate to that, I have acquaintances but my ride or die would be my husband.

This is an aspiring video if one finds themselves homeless, or out of wanting to do this to save money and get a better footing or financially free. There’s a lot of good ideas here as well as great tips of do this/that. At my age I could see me doing it more as an adventure and traveling all over enjoying life and experiencing things. My hat off to you for sharing!
For winter time you can use heating gloves and heating socks 🧦. They charge through your battery pack and they are usually for people that go in to the mountains etc.. but I believe you can sleep with them. I never used them but I saw them on Amazon and Alixpress. Also there is a jacket that recharge with your 5v battery pack, that could be also useful. I will move into my car and work full time and I’m thinking too for the winter. Nice content ✌️😁

Thank you! I would actually squat over the collapsible bucket while it was in its collapsed state. It wasn’t the most comfortable, but it was better than nothing.
At night time can anybody look in the car because I see little holes here and there so they could see when you have the light on even though it’s a A little area can’t be seen. Do you go outside and make sure that everything is covered or will it have some areas that won’t be. Do you put up the the covers when you leave at the front and the signs?
Yes, I’ve gone outside and checked all of my windows and I couldn’t see any of the lights from the outside. I was really surprised because, like you, I thought people would be able to see little cracks of light from the spaces. I’ve recently started putting up my front and side covers when I leave my car, after watching a video the other day of a car lifer who was robbed while she was out at a bar.
Lol, I forgot to mention that I leave the bucket collapsed when I do the #2. I put the trash bag over the collapsed bucket and squat over it, similar to how you’d 💩 if you’re on a hike in nature or something (digging a small hole in the ground and squatting over it).

I have a large rectangle sleeping bag I open it out put flannel sheets and assorted blankets I lay on one half and flip the other half over me use a pillow for my head sometimes Izip the sleeping bag up. I also have a down comforter to put over the sleeping bag but most of the time its not needed. If I get too warm I peel the layers back. I put my shoes in the sleeping bag because in the morning nothing is worse than freezing cold shoes. I have warm long johns and thermal sleepwear. So far I have not been cold.
Try Hot Hands warmers. You can get the large size at Walmart in the hunting or camping section. The large ones last about 18ish hours. Put one near your feet and it makes a huge difference. I put them in a ziplock when I get up so I can get 2 nights worth out of them.
ur so lucky your friends are your family and fiancé lol I'm a deep introvert too but I'm an only child and my boyfriend has a very active social life and my parents and I don't have any kind of bond. so hard! I don't wanna make friends I wish the people that were already in my life could just be close to me smhhh.

My parents and I haven’t always had a close bond and my relationship with my ex was more like a dysfunctional friendship than a marriage. I used to feel so alone. Thank you 😊. I looked at some electric blankets, but the watts they used were too high. The blanket would eat up the power in me yeti goal zero in a few hours. I might get one of those zero degree sleeping bags for next winter.

Ive been thinkintopg about living in my car its just when i looked at the links some items arent sold anymore like the electric energy. I have a honda pilot 2006 and want to do it i lived in a tent during the winter before it wasnt terrible but the summer was awful

There are some things that I noticed from your cooking video (you cook all vegan foods, which we are 95% vegans, can't seem to go full), you may or may not be vegan but either way, we dig your cooking video. Also, your trash bag is biodegradable (which we are trying to be as "zero" waste as possible, but we'll likely never be fully zero-waste and there is another story there but hey! Anything helps). We are also in the process of being bike commuters (in an effort to be be active and less harmful to the planet) but I digress. You are our role model for looking for information to Van Life. We would only Van Life to chase bike trails but you are one of the rare ones out there who have not only shown me how to cook in the car, keep it clean, and with minimal resources (water/soap), which is what we're all about. Please do share as much (and as often as you can). We look forward to learn more from you. Whatever everyday life thing you do, will be super helpful for us. We worry about things like condensation, winter (cold!), cooler (we will be using our Yeti Cooler), laundry (we won't be going to the laundromat, likely will be using our wonder washer which we usually use when camping, so water source would be a concern), hanging laundry (we like hand washing laundry, but when van life-ing, that might become challenging). That guy was creepy af. When he said someone was watching you and saying he was looking to give people water (just like him btw) ..he was describing himself..he was watching you..and if he was so concerned, he would have called law enforcement..you should also get a dog if you can. I'm a single female living in my car as well and cheap motels (which means in sketchy areas) and all it takes is one look at my German Shepherd for someone to leave me alone...(even tho she wouldn't hurt a fly lol). Whenever approached like that again always film and go live...you can either tell them you're on a face time call or even better is to tell them you're a vlogger/IRL Live Streamer..that way you make it a point to let them know you are live streaming to people in real time...that usually stops people from doing something sketchy...it is also good for if you have any encounters with law enforcement. Just some suggestions. I'm glad you're okay and stay safe!!

I go back and forth with that thought, constantly! If I ever get a van, it would be a small one like a ford transit connect. I appreciate the fact that I don't spend as much on gas as those who live in a van. There are other benefits to living in a car vs a van. We shall see. For now, I'm content with my car 🙂.

Yes, I use compostable trash bags 😊. My main reason was to help me pay off my debt faster, but now that I’ve become debt free I still can’t see myself ever paying rent again, so I’m still living in my car & saving money. I plan to buy land and an RV in cash, eventually.

10 amps is a high draw through the cig lighter, a 200 watt heated blanket might be an option, I've been eyeing up a weighted blanket as I believe it will contain heat better. A luggable loo with biodegradable trash bags might be more comfy in an emergency. Love you're doing this, I was just traveling out West for a month and already trying to figure out a base camp property with traveling throughout the Southwest in winter. As it is I am trapped in Minnesota during the winter and not happy.
You’re very right. My cigarette lighter died from using 5 amps. I have a new power setup that I’ll share in a video soon. I’d love a luggable loo, but I don’t have the space for it in my car. I need something collapsible. I’m searching for an alternative, but for now, my setup is fine. I do plan to buy a heated blanket. This winter wasn’t too bad where I currently live. @@simmpleenough So I used the luggable as storage and also used it to put a UCO lantern candle in at night, if I felt safe too, only had the single but totally gonna move up to a triple candle. Not sure what id need a collapsable for but I have more space, Ill keep watchin, like your content☺
I am in the process of trying to work out living in my car. Last night I spent half the night in there! I am in an apartment and did what you said, just tried it out parked right in front of my apartment but I had to urinate and went inside since I didn't prepare for that lol. Every little noise had me jumping up, but I did eventually fall asleep. I am going to keep trying until I get used to it. I enjoy your videos. I look forward to finding your vegan cooking ones as well. I was curious why you don't have an instant pot and why I rarely see this in car tours. That’s awesome! I’m glad you’re trying it out before your lease ends. I might get a crockpot eventually, but I don’t have the room for it right now. Actually, I thought you said crockpot, not instant pot, lol. I tested the instant pot out on my power station and it used too many watts when getting up to pressure. The watts lowered once it was up to pressure, but almost half of my power was gone by the time the dish was done, so I decided not to use it.

These are suuuuuch good questions! I’m gonna do a video on them. No, my coworkers don’t know. I don’t tell anyone I live in my car except family. During car maintenance, I take my laptop bag with me and I put other valuables in a large bag I have and take that with me, as well, while I wait. Yes, unfortunately, I’ve had things stolen 🙄. My monthly bills total to about $800 / month, but that’s mostly because I have a small online business I want to grow so I pay for several business things (email list marketing, video editing programs, website hosting, etc…). I’ll make a video breaking down my costs.

Maybe some low cost efficiency apartments could be built to accommadate you and maybe you could get a job a one of those companies like walmart, Smithfield or freightliner to pay rent.
