Yes that is very true. Many people say the "rough areas" here in Utah are nothing compared to what you find in other major cities.

Ogden Airport has regular flights to Phoenix and Burbank.

I'm off wall on 28th and it's been getting nicer (Pingree is still a little run down looking). Also, the airport has flights out to Mesa, and a new one to California (Can't remember which city). I work on Hill AFB (lots of people out of Ogden work there). Grew up in Centeville in the "80's, back then it was all farm land.

Do you have to worry about land slides and forest fires being so close to the Mountains?

To be honest, not really. We have only had a couple of fires that was close enough to the cities to be concerning. We don't have many landslides here either, due to the high rock content of the mountains

We just moved to Ogden, I’m starting a new job here. I was interested more in building restrictions within Ogden as I see big potential in buying an older home but don’t want to get stuck with building code restrictions. Advice?

What restrictions are you concerned about? So long as you complete everything with permits you would be just fine. If you’re concerned about community or zoning rules, you can talk to the city about that

Is it that the city where Everwood was filmed? Im a big fan of this Tv serie and im trying to find all the real locations. Unfortunatelly its pretty difficult to relocate scenes basing the material on something olds 20 years. Greetings from Italy.

I remember Everwood because it was being filmed at a house just up the street from my childhood home. I believe the house is located on 73 Laurel Street in Salt Lake City.

@@luca01090 No it is a real house! It was built in 1916 and is still occupied. Pretty sure I met the people living there now.

I'm curious how the city was named Ogden. Yes, I understand it was named after Canadian fur trader Peter Skene Ogden, yet I understand he may have never actually been there. Ogden's name was also given to a point of land up here in Victoria BC Canada, where I currently live on Vancouver Island. I understand his grandfather was American who fled north about the time of the war between your country and what is now Canada under the rule of England in the early 1800s. I also know he went west as a fur trader with the North-West Co, the prime competitor against the Hudson's Bay company, which during Ogden's time managed to buy out the NWCo. I know this as I had a gr,gr,gr,great uncle, Finnan McDonald who worked with Ogdwn for a few years in the BC as well as in the US north-west. I'n love to visit Ogden and may soon. Idohopesomeone can explain how his name was adopted. Thank you Allan McRae

North ogden is trash. Cops are bullys, will give you a ticket for going 4 over the speed limit. Neighbors are the types that will call the county on you for having a dry patch in your yard, or if you dog barks too much for their liking.

@@LivingInSaltLakeCity yep. Two torn down in Woods Cross/Bountiful, 1 in Layton, 1 in Riverdale soon to be bulldozed. Those people have nowhere to go. Townhouses went in in front of another by Hill AFB. I'm sure that one is also just a matter of time before it's gone as well.

It’s so sad how much development there is. Humans just take, take, take… Let’s not forget that Utah was Native American Land before it became whatever this is
