I stayed at Sun Sea Sand for a month a year ago and had a great time. Beautiful views of the forest on the left, friendly staff - very quiet location - it now has a restaurant.

JC Big Fan as always however I have 2 requests, 1st - You have done a couple of vids about Pattaya, Breakfast, information booth & a couple of places to stay but it would be nice if you done and in depth series on Pattaya covering places to stay, places to eat, the nightlife, mikes shopping mall, central festival mall, the soi markets like you've done for Cambodia Also 2nd - A series of videos similar to what I said above but for the islands of Koh Samui & Koh pan yang. Please let me know if you could do these in 2014 soon as it would be great.

Sorry Sherman, Pattaya is on my retiree no fly zone for a multitude of reasons. So don't expect anymore coverage of that particular city from me. But there are many other places coming soon.

You are correct that the Andaman Sea id clearer than the Gulf of Thailand. Beautiful water. It also is a lot rougher and now that we are going through this period of undersea quakes you need to be aware of tsunamis as well. Just had another quake a week or so ago. You might have a little challenge getting some high speed internet off the beaten path though. Something to keep in mind.

Thanks! My ideal is to find an off the beaten path little village by the sea where I can live in a small bungalow, do some fishing, work on my web-based business, and live a very good life. I don't necessarily have to live super cheap and I'd rather not live in a condo if at all possible. From what I've seen so far the water on the west coast is a lot more clear than the gulf and that appeals to me. Once again, thanks for what you're doing.

Great Job JC, I am in BKK and watching these new videos your putting up is helping me know where I want to visit next LOL, I now am in Saimai in north Bangkok, and my full rent is $100 US dollars a month, or $3000 Baht a month, and I have a beautiful, brand new Condo, with CCTV, WIFI, and a guard 24/7, with Magnet keycard locks, very very nice, a place like mine in the US "Florida" where I live would be $1,200 a month, or more, so this is great.

I know this place very well. I go there twice a year because I married a girl from there. You are right about the sea, no tsunamies, it's calm water. You right about the restaurants, wonderful seafood for few dollars. You right about the week ends, it's more crowdy etc etc. BUT: why didn't You say that at less then 20 km south from this place is the biggest chemical and industrial plant of Thailand which has ruined the tourism over there? The seawater isn't clean anymore!!

Agreed. I have been looking into the Phuket area and while it does seem a bit more expensive it also has a lot to offer. Looking at the map, there are a lot of areas along the west coast that don't get a lot of press.

Nine thousand to refurbish a unit like this would make it a palace! Not including furniture of course. Not paying maintenance fees usually occurs from certain people in general. Also need to understand who is the management of the building to make sure things get due attention. All things to be watchful for.

It's the Map Ta Phut Eastern Industrial Estate. Just take a look around over there and You will understand. Indeed, the water quality in Pattaya isn't better!

Oh no LOL, Saimai is the name of the Main road I live by, in Bangkok, and most of Thailand, the mail road all the business are on have a name like Saimai road, then the little side roads off that main road are called Soi's, so the Mail road here is Saimai Road, in the District of Saimai, and the Soi's off Saimai start at Soi #1, and go to over Soi #90, my building is on Soi 43, to a cab driver you would say, take me to "Saimai C-Sip-Some" that is how the Thai words for this road sound in English

Great stuff. Thanks for all the good info. What about a fishing village? I'd like to live in a place where I can go out fishing frequently. The beach is ok but I'm more into saltwater fishing.

If you can read the rental advertisement it will be more expensive no matter who owns it.

Or just get a Thai friend to hang out and go around with you in the area you want to live and have them find the signs and inquire for you.

Are you talking about the port where the ships come in with petroleum? If there is a chemical plant how did it ruin the tourism? I see thousands of people there every weekend. I doubt the water quality is any worse than Pattaya. It sure looked the same. And that hasn't stopped tourism there either!!

JC, are the condo prices you quote normally foreign freehold title? Because I've noticed that the Foreign freeholds are a bit more expensive than the Thai freehold or lease units.

the sound "C"=4, the sound "Sip"=10 and the sound "Some"=3, the Thai's say 10 in the middle to show it is not 4,3, but 43, before you come here, if I was you I would learn 1-10 in Thai, and a few much needed words like Bathroom, in Thai it sounds like the English sound of Hong-Num, this I would say is the MOST important word to know in Thai LMAO, and also Sawandee Kaa, Woman say Kaa after things to make them sound nice, like our Please, and Man say "Kup", thats how it sounds,

Well first I seen if you look on the web, it seems the Thai's know westerners will reply to these adds, so the prices are much higher LOL, I have a Thai Girlfriend, soon to be wife, she found it for me, but if you live like me in a all Thai area, you will find much cheaper prices like I have, where I live in Saimai, you will be hard pressed to find any Westerners LOL to tell the truth I love it like that LOL, living with the Thai's is very nice.

but if you want to get a place in my building, I think there is only 3 units left, all like mine, never lived in, and brand new, but I have the nicest one as I have a corner unit, I will get you the Address and phone number here, and post for you, but my building is on Saimai Road, and Soi 43, on the north west corner, pink building, and very nice.
