@@rickbault1221 Good interview thanks for sharing your story. We are about to make our move to Thailand from the states. We are currently doing RV and enjoying taking hikes before we move to Thailand. We are debating if we should keep the truck and RV while we try out Thailand. We heard you mention a travel trailer, do you still have it while in Thailand? And how do you arrange to store it and the truck?

Tipping in this country is crazy right now, Door-dash wants a tip BEFORE the food is delivered now or they warn the delivery person might not take the order and you could wait longer for your food. You go into convenient stores and there is a spot to give a tip to the cashier for taking your credit card. It's everywhere, was in Macy's buying a shirt and when I got the amount, the credit card pad wants to know if you want to tip the people in the store (or something like that) and the question was asked in a confusing manner so I accidently gave the store a 60 cent tip. The problem is companies don't want to pay their employees enough and want you to fit the bill.

Retiring before age 60 is tough because social security and Medicare hasn't kicked in yet and you don't want to burn money on medical care and living expenses, you have to worry you'll run out of money if you live to 90 or so. Even if you have a million or two these days you can't start going into savings until at least 65. I think I'd like to get my January-February period in Thailand or someplace warm before that age if possible, closing in on it now. Just getting a way during two winter months would really help many people.

It's the end game that matters. Folks who choose a job that does not give them a pension and employer paid benefits that continue after retirement have to live with the bad choice and struggle through their golden years. Looking forward to retiring to thailand later this year with my benefits

@@stevedice5963 I suspect a much lower percentage of companies in the future will be offering pensions in order to compete, it's been happening for a while. I think the younger people don't realize it when they start off how bad things will get and a lot of them are for pushing the social security age to be raised. It's not as simple as accepting an offer into a company that offers pensions these days, a company can cut the pension anytime they want, and they did with my company after working there 20 years. They said we are reducing the pension because other companies are. and that's it. At least I get some pension, but it got reduced and the new hires were told they aren't getting one. I am well off so could make it but many can't.

Yes the younger people need to come up with a good retirement strategy early...
