You know a country doesn’t care about seniors when their retirement benefits (Social Security) is subject to taxation. Even in retirement you are nothing more than a revenue resource for a profligate government. That’s why more Americans are moving abroad to retire The will live longer and experience less stress. America is indirectly ending life prematurely for its residents

@zofiajaneczek184
@zofiajaneczek184 Месяц назад
@@leinster22 hopefully people are aware that if you leave in retirement your money is going to be taxed, the government here will not allow you to leave without taking a cut! Yes, it’s going to get a piece of you one way or another because that’s what America does. Of course they’re ending lives sooner here and yes on purpose. See basics of the job system here as it’s set up to end many careers prior to retirement, being let go when you hit a certain age, being forced to leave earlier due to health concerns in Blue Collar jobs and it happens to many! My dad retired early and had to leave the USA due to poor health, he couldn’t physically continue to work and his social security would have put him in the projects or worse. Poverty is not something that seniors should have to contend with as they age here but many do as the cost of living is out to get you now. Few jobs are actually safe from age discrimination in the USA! If you’re older you’d better pick up new skills, start your own side business while still employed or make sure the industry you’re in doesn’t depend on age to get the job done. God forbid you look, sound, or act older as you age that can be an early nail on the coffin in this country and the end of being able to afford to actually live. Also, living here is expensive but existing here not necessarily as long as you’re aware that certain necessities are going to be out of reach. These necessities are basic human rights in many developed countries but apparently not here!

US Americans say that for cognitive comfort. Most US Americans can't come to terms with the fact that the US is falling. Slowly but surely. So to think that elsewhere is better and for the first time in history, they may actually have to leave the US for a better life, is daunting. It's a survival mechanism. @williamdaniels9728
@williamdaniels9728 Месяц назад
Sadly 31K isn't even enough to survive in most places of America. That would be considered a starting young adult salary. More and more adult Americans now living with their parents (or parents living with them) to save money when we were used to separate living situations in prior generations. If you aren't living with parents you are living with roommates or a girlfriend or boyfriend on a salary like that, it almost doesn't matter where in the US you live now. Yes inner cities are more expensive but the outer lying rural areas are now climbing in cost as well. A thousand things could trigger this to get worse. We all know it's not sustainable but were like frogs in a boiling pot. I wish our two countries could find a way to make peace. We could really use a strong partner to run and defend Europe in our absence because we simply can't afford grand military interventions like this anymore. It's not good for Russia and it's not for United States. It's sinking the world system.

I'm doing a paralegal course right now. I feel like the only jobs that don't pay grocery store wages in law are at the government, as far as paralegalism is concerned. Small firms: senior paralegal (think 15yrs experience prolly), $25 an hr. Benefits provided: healthcare. Not even PTO. Level 3 paralegal with the government 75-100k/yr. Baby attorneys start at 50k at some places, too. Speaking of government employee wages in my state: where I live, I am part of a martial arts dojo. I pay a fair $150 a month to train with various black belts, it's one fee for as many classes you can/ want to attend and you can go shooting all their guns with certified trainer and free ammo. Who mostly goes to this dojo? Government employees. Because people who work in private sector get paid so low, they can't afford an extra of $150. For me it's a struggle to afford it and I keep on to learn what I can from the masters and with the training partners I can train with - before I will eventually move. HA!

Half the country want to have an Authoritarian rule from an insane douche bag, and the other half are complacent in accepting that lobbyists, corporations, and politicians of all parties are just what we have to accept. Costs are up because corporate shareholders want maximum profits. They get maximum profits by increasing profits and reducing expenses. Expenses are employees, their benefit & quality of product/service. They maximize profits by eliminating jobs, cutting corners, and raising prices without justification. The problem is that going to another country is not easy due to residency qualifications etc. If you are not rich or young, they don't want you, even if you are of working age. I am hoping to leave when I retire in 10 years but in the interim, it is almost impossible to find a place to go to. It's a huge risk to sell everything and move in hopes that I can sustain myself until I can collect unemployment and use my 401k without double taxation.

In 2023, the profit-sharing bonus for American Airlines flight attendants was 1.1% of their eligible annual pay. Compared to Singapore Airlines, which awarded its employees, including flight attendants, a bonus equivalent to nearly EIGHT months of salary. Is that not an example of corporate greed from American Airlines? American Airlines made a net income in 2023 of $900M... and its workers were given only 1.1% bonus for record corporate profits?

It’s not about bankrupting companies, but about fair profit-sharing. Employees should be rewarded more fairly when companies do well... Also, ironically, AA is feeding the unions ammunition by doing this so its not even smart from a business strategy point of view.

But inflation, usury, taxes, and contracts tied to these are too insidious, arbitrary and capricious. Insurance can suddenly leap or leave you behind too. Penalties amd control frauds strike out. Pays to have a good decent lawyer, accountant, general contractors, medicos, mechanics, etc, but people aren't necessarily raised to cultivate these relationships or think they get what they pay for... when making "good money", no kids, two incomes... Good people leaves unpleasant work situations in all the above. Many walking archives and decades of talent sidelined or in line at store or passing by during a walk and NO ieas who they are. Many would rather just be left alone. They're done serving the public, the state and their professional realm...with very specific exceptions that are not so easy to put your finger on. Much of the shortage of "workers" is refusal to participate anymore. The public is paying for their neglect of these skilled essential people. "Greed is good"? Corporate greed (which tends to force short term thinking), has been normalized in the U.S. One of the drawbacks of capitalism is that given enough time, corporations will learn how to game the system quite successfully. The average person does not have the resources or time to become an expert in everything. So the average person pays 6% of the sale price of their house because of realtor monopolies, losing thousands of dollars. Multiply this by almost every area of life from medicine, police, jails, groceries, new cars, home contractors, etc. Government chases the tail of greed trying to instill some balance and becomes over protective. Libertarians think little regulation is best as they fail to see or ignore the sharks circling around them.

I remember as a child when the steel mills left the country for Japan. I remember hearing my father say “ how can you compete against countries that pay their population a fraction of our wages and can sell their products back to us for less the price we could make it for…”. It finally has caught up to us and now the rest of the world has moved ahead. All they had to do was educate their workforce which means they would inevitably innovate for themselves at some point. The American people knew how this would turn out long ago but the globalists must have never seen it coming or did they and just didn’t care.

can you name an American steel company that closed a factory and built one in Japan? I can save you some time - there isn't one. what happened is American steel workers kept brow beating their employers for "more money more money more money!!!" when they didn't get it, they went on strike. when they went on strike, companies that bought their steel immediately looked for other sources of steel so their production wasn't stopped. this permanently crippled the steel industry in the USA and it never recovered.

@@connor_flanigan I’m certainly not a fan of the unions. My father was in management at the steel mill he worked at. The mills in Pennsylvania are pretty much gone now and the state has transformed itself into more of an IT hub. Now we’re hearing that AI is going to start replacing IT jobs over time. They’re telling the IT people to take the trades route, they need to fill the positions the baby boomers are vacating. The wages in the trades are great now but once they get an oversupply of labor the wages will begin to fall. I think this is what’s causing a lot of the chaos with the younger generations complaining about work. Why spend all that money on a college education or trades school if the jobs aren’t going to be there or not pay well enough to live. There are no guarantees in life but this is starting to get out of control, here in the US and also the rest of the world.

In those places, on top of a completely new country, it's also a completely different culture. If I don't have family ties, the next best thing for feeling somewhere at home is to have cultural/ heritage roots somewhere. Nobody talks about it. I've been to 50+ countries and also the ones you mention but that last thing I can envision is to compete with natives for jobs in those countries. I’m with you! Physical here and currently stuck as wages too low to get me out. I do have a plan but absolutely no help to get there, so it’s going to take time. I will need to leave the US before retiring because I will never be able to stop working here at this rate. Part of the issue is many Americans are too poor to leave anywhere these days. I’m with someone that will leave the country and leave me behind to fend for myself, yet refuses to help me so that I’m able to help myself! Life here is is gutturally sad. I currently also have obligations that won’t allow me to leave yet but I HAVE TO GET OUT!

I don't see how so many are struggling. I'm struggling cause of debt and a shifty job. I make close to $60,000 a year live in Chicago. I don't drive, I could but choose not to. I have a big studio apartment in a nice area that includes all utilities, but electric, plus fiber internet for $1,275 a month. High, yes, but nice. If I didn't have debt, I would be doing better. Electric is less than$50 per month for me, and I pay $75 a month for unlimited public transit bus and subway. Not bad, it could be cheaper, but not bad. I think Americans need to stop keeping up with the Jones and just buy what they need, less of wants. I wish finding jobs were easier. Health insurance is fricken expensive. I pay $400 once a month for shifty insurance. America needs universal health care for a healthier America.

Homelessness is growing partly due to the unaffordable cost of living. Some people have become desperate and are giving up. Working hard is no longer a guarantee of success or prosperity. People are losing their motivation to work hard. That is very sad.

BTW, up until recently I used to live in one of those third-world countries. Had some real estate there to rent out - nothing fancy, but decent. Some of my favorite tenants were companies that would rent my properties for their low-paid employees sent on business trips or career training into my city. Manufacturing companies, fast food chains, - never dealt with railways or airline companies personally, but to my understanding, they were doing the same thing for their employees. The country wasn't particularly good, the work culture over there was *#@t, the employees were mostly overworked, underpaid and disrespected. Still, none of them were bums forced to sleep in cars.

To all those doubtful Americans; Kl, Saigon, Bangkok, Seoul, and other cities all across Asia are FAR BETTER than those hell-hole US cities like LA, Chicago, San Fran, NYC etc. Quality of life, quality of healthcare (far better and less costly), transportation costs, real estate, low taxes, etc are far superior to those US cities. Get over. The US is no longer the 'best' place to live. My wife can walk down the street with her phone in her back pocket and purse over her shoulder at 11pm in SIngapore or KL and not worry about getting robbed and attacked. Don't need to worry about carjackings or drive-by shootings. Hell, even Phnom Penh is better than Chicago or LA.. I've been in SEA for 25 years and will never return to the US (American here). Hi Andrew. Been following your channel for forever. It has been largely your program and advice that I took on myself to 'go where I am treated best', which for me turns out to be Brazil. At this moment I sit in a brand new (actually not even totally finished yet) apartment in an upscale suburb of Rio de Janeiro. I am no flight attendant, I am a (recently) retired software engineer. I might be interested in something like your job offer. I think Brazil should be on more people's radar as one of their options for going to where they are treated best, at least treated a whole lot better. COL, climate, culture, financial infrastructure stability, security, all these aspects of day-to-day life, in most of Brazil, are far superior to those same things in the USA/Canada. Brazil stands alone as the only BRICS country that is a viable option for moving to get treated better than the USA/Canada does: Who would consider moving to Russia, or India, or China, or South Africa? I could be a point person for people considering Brazil as one of their options, simple as that. Thanks for all your input and guidance in getting me to where I am right now!

Careful. I was recently in Brazil for three weeks. On the third week, I had to evacuate after someone kicked in my home door and attacked me. Fortunately, I was armed at the time, but found I was in extreme danger so left that same night. I found Presidente Prudente very accommodating and mostly safe, but Pelotas very very dangerous. I think they were after my IT Equipment, which might have been reported by my house cleaner to the folks trying to break in.

I am Brazilian born and I have British and American passports also. Brazilian consulate is the most difficult to deal with. It is not easy to obtain Brazilian nationality if you weren't born there. Taxes are not good for the clients Andrew caters for. It is also extremely violent and even Cariocas want to leave Rio de Janeiro for the violence. It is a good place for a vacation or a 3 month stay if you take care of security ( unlike Americans you cannot defend yourself with firearms only the criminals have them - it is a very corrupt country in terms of the police also ).

@1:16 They must be only working part-time or some such thing as this, and many other data with similar numbers came up in a 5 second search. "Flight Attendants made a median salary of $63,760 in 2022. The best-paid 25% made $82,410 that year, while the lowest-paid 25% made $47,760." "The estimated total pay for a Flight Attendant is $118,506 per year in the United States area, with an average salary of $106,528 per year. T" (of course that includes the total benefit package) "average Flight Attendant salary in the United States is $86,370 as of June 27, 2024, but the range typically falls between $73,474 and $102,652." Where did those numbers come from that are in yoru video? The lowest base pay, part-time without any bumps? Oh, wait I know why that you have such a low number, "....their union said" The union was cherry picking data and almost certainly using part-timer pay, or lowest entry level base without any bumps, or some other such BS. You @8:50 stated that you don't take the propaganda yet you (or your staff) had you parroting union propaganda.
