The United States was really the best country the world has ever seen. There is no question we were blessed. It had stability and security and incentives to live and invest. We now have a leadership from the federal and local governments that are trying to destroy this country. Also the voters are poorly educated. I do believe in the near future we as Americans will be living in a different America.. I will not feel bad for my people because they voted for this. They are going to get what they asked for

The tipping point occurred in 2011 for me. I left America late 2011 and never looked back with my duffle bag and soldier’s box. New citizenship, bought properties, turned off the never-ending American doom and gloom news and politics on my news feeds, just an environment of calm sanity. The few American colleagues I have left constantly complain about America then attack me for seeking a happier more prosperous life elsewhere. I do not understand the concept that America is the centre of the Universe. My good looks, education, intelligence, and skill set allowed me to waltz into New Zealand and issued me a residency and then citizenship. I immediately knew I had made the right move while I was being screened by the LAX airport security for international departure. I walked through the metal detector twice, was twice asked to walk through a bomb sniffing/detection machine a second time. The TSA screen identified/displayed me as an US Army veteran, all of a sudden, three TSA thugs body slammed me simultaneously against the wall and began frisking me again more thoroughly. If America treats it’s veterans like that, I knew that I was in the wrong country.

I left the USA in 1981 to work in Saudi Arabia since that time I've come back to the US then to East Africa, UAE have traveled around the world mainly for vacation and am now retired in Asia, i haven't been to the States in 17 years and when I'm asked by friends and family why I don't want to return to the States my reply is...I don't want to give up my personal freedom that I have enjoyed living abroad for many years. From where I sit the USA is beyond the point of no return, pollution top to bottom, crumbling infrastructure, homeless people across the country, rampant crime, unaffordable healthcare, high taxation, police brutality which in my view the US has become a police state, human rights are out the window the list is endless. Frankly speaking I'm simply not accustomed to living such a lifestyle. My brothers tell me don't come back, California in particular is a disaster, friends living around me hate visiting the US but have obligations which will wash out in a couple of years after which time they will stop traveling back to the States. @@billiam4835 Our infrastructure could be a lot worse, and most infrastructure is maintained by an 18 or 24 cents/gallon excise tax on gasoline/diesel fuel; biodiesel has no excise tax on it. The fact we can sustain our highways on that alone is nothing less than impressive. "Highway-related excise tax revenue totaled $41.5 billion in 2022, 47 percent of all excise tax revenue. Gasoline and diesel taxes, which are 18.4 and 24.4 cents per gallon, respectively, make up over 85 percent of total highway tax revenue, with the remaining from taxes on other fuels, trucks, trailers, and tires. (The tax rates for gasoline and diesel include a 0.1 percent tax earmarked for the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund.) Most other motor fuels are also subject to excise taxes, although “partially exempt” fuels produced from natural gas are taxed at much lower rates. I'm convinced the US's problems won't be solved in my lifetime because so many people adopt a 'if you don't like it, leave' mentality. How do you resolve conflicts when a significant portion of the population refuses to come together and solve problems, acting like petulant children who shut down, ignore issues, and storm off with their toys? You can't mend relationships with someone emotionally shut down like this, and we certainly can't fix a country this way. Watching this video makes me nostalgic for PBD before he fell into conspiracy theories.

You said that very well. Someone else who said almost the same thing (but with more malevolent motives) was Saul Alinsky. (I'm a capitalist, but Alinsky's book, "Rules for Radicals" is a "must read." He talks about how to win, politically, using Machiavellian tactics.) If you want the advice about Machiavellianism without the communism, read: Morton Blackwell and if you want to supplement it with realism from 2004, Michael Whouley. This nation has been controlled by evil, greedy people for well over a century so yes, I have much to complain about. This does not mean those same people have any right to pay me off with tax payer money to leave permanently. Instead, I have every right to fight for change which starts with pointing out the problem and seeing to it that the criminals are fined, imprisoned and later, deported. If I wish to move, that is my prerogative, but no one has the right to demand I leave simply because I assert my dissatisfaction of policies enacted by corrupted entities. I have county level authorities on camera and in legal documents threatening me and my family starting in May, 2023 until I was kidnapped in Haverford Township, PA by a plain clothes individual who repeatedly refused to identify themselves. The corrupt DA, who is a neighbor, oversaw this behavior and currently holds false criminal charges against me despite clear video evidence that shows the reality. I would seriously benefit from obtaining that $100,000 to start my new life in a country I am grateful is protecting me from what has been acknowledged as political persecution.
