Living in UAE/Dubai/Sharjah - My Two Month Review 

@zaheer00 could you please advise any areas in sharjah where you could buy a nice luxury villas and still be close to masjids, schools, towns ? i am planning to shift within 6 months from east london, but i am looking for a posh family oriented area but still be close to the amenities

Slms Mansour, I'm not an expert on Sharjah, however I know many people that have made the move. Its quite an open ended question but if you want Villas then look along the beach area between Sharjah and Ajman. That area is quite private and has plenty of Villas. The City Centre area is mostly apartments so not sure if that's your preference. School wise, I know many people that are online homeschooling rather than their kids actually attending school. Sharjah does have a fair few schools but you probably want to send yours to Dubai so probably worth staying on the border of Sharjah and Dubai. The schools part may be a bit tricky. There are plenty of schools in sharjah especially in the Muweliah area. the newly improved area. plenty of new apartments and schools out there.

I agree. Predominant muslim community in sharjah and ajman.

I’ve not felt like there are any issues with the air tbh. Healthcare seems good from what I’ve seen

air quality is not good anywhere in this area, we are in the desert. But if you're asking if we've felt any difference, than the answer is No.

So this tbh I don’t know because I’ve never really researched

Schools r really expensive

really expensive, expect to pay around 30k AED per year per child for any good educaiton. However, there are other options like government schools or cheaper and less favourable schools at around 8-10k AED per year per child.

Ajman is more run down for sure been there and it's more 'industrial' but a lot cheaper. It all depends why you moved to UAE. For me it was purely to live in Dubai so I moved to UAE because of Dubai so living elsewhere was pointless even though it is probably 80% cheaper in Ajman!

Muwailih Commercial is excellent

Muwaileh, Zahia and Maryam Island are really good but traffic to Dubai is awful(you will lose 2-3 hours in just commuting). There's a place called Wasl Village in Qusais which is pretty cheap and decent living standards but still expect some traffic
