A journalist by training, Samuel who once eked out a living reporting for a radio station here in Kampala realized he could not meet his targets with the meagre salary he earned and quit he job. Samuel then took up tyre-cutting from which he makes car carpets, engine bushes, and sandals among others. He earns 30,000 shillings daily and has managed to cater for the needs of his family for the last three years.

so it took me about 3 weeks worth of research, taking time to visit recapping tire shops, landfills, recycle experts, tire repair experts, the list goes on and what do I see? people making due with what they have. Picture perfect! I will be doing the same in order to make a product and I will donate money to charitible organizations with this video enginuity. Thanks you so much!

SUPER VIDEO-thank you, why don't you now show us hot to cut the tyres into 'shoe soles', and what kind of glue to use to stick the tyre cut shoe soles to the shoes! it will save us all a lot of money, and could be the start of a new business for you and your mates!

@@samharris246 the land was for $5 million shillings. Which as of today converts to $1341.80 USD no idea where you got 50k from. Also it says in description he earns 30 000 shillings a day which as of today is $8.05 USD.

@@samharris246 I didn't even know shillings were still a currency until I saw this video. Since they are in Uganda I used their Ugandan Shillings.
