It's funny, wherever you go in the world, there are people with this thinking. Currently in the UK there are a lot of people with your view. I understand you want to keep your culture and tradition, that's great. People like me will live in your country and respect it. You can't just say no foreigners. People are people at the end of the day. Some good, some bad but skin colour or nationality has nothing to do with it in my opinion.

Yeah it's crazy how many people live in Jakarta. I know it has its problems but for me it's so nice to see so many people living happily together in a small area
I live close to where you were staying. Please take care especially at night. Parts of south Jakarta whilst nothing like as dangerous as Tettenhall, you can get into difficulty.

The weather in Jakarta is quiet hot either for me, evenso I am an Indonesian. I'm living in Bogor, the city located at southern area around 60km from the centre of Jakarta with a lot of greeneries and mountain, So being in Jakarta makes my body sweat so much. I hope you still enjoy your trip in Indonesia, because the tropical heat may makes you exhausting.
You have to go to the mall. Jakarta is a mall city big durian..There are 96 malls in Jakarta alone. 200+ malls if you include all cities on the outskirts of Jakarta
There are so many malls in Jakarta! I'm not really a mall person, but they're always good to get out of the heat in the afternoon. I lived by Lotte mall, so I was in there most days for one reason or another (playing in the arcade mainly 😅🤣)

Apart from Bali 😅 I think Indonesia's visa laws are probably the reason why foreigners are more likely to settle in neighbouring countries. Understandable with the size of your population in Jawa though. Maybe Indonesia could offer an easier working visa for foreigners to live in your new capital, Nusantara to help with growth.
I dont think so.. many exptriats are working and staying in Jakarta cause many multinational companies in jakarta. Kemang and pondok indah is their favourite area to live

It was more for the experience, I like taking Bajaj, but some of these guys would be better off taking less money and more jobs than trying to overcharge people. You're right though, gojek, etc. Is better, but it would be a shame to lose the bajaj, it's part of your culture.
@@cworldwanderer it’s fine too if you ride bajaj, as we did in the past before gojek/grab available. Also we might had ojek (where gojek basically comes from before the apps) more expensive at that time than bajaj. Don’t get it wrong, i still took bajaj too if i have more time to spent on the road and bargaining. Cheers mate

Honestly, I just feel a strong connection with Southeast Asia . The people, food, and cultures always amaze me. I still love the UK, but it's not as good as everyone in Asia would believe it to be, the constant wet and cold weather for a start 😅
