You're taking executive class. Above that, there are panoramic, luxury class, compartment suites. Also now KAI have been releasing New Generation cars for economy and executive class, but not all have been replaced yet. I've seen videos of the new generation and I think I'm impressed and want to try myself. Anyway, enjoy your trip in Indonesia. The train food she tried is Se'i I think (smoked beef).
Thanks 🙏 ☺️. We were hoping someone would tell us the name of that dish. It was very good. We took Luxury class from Bandung to Jakarta. It was very fancy 😂. We will share that experience in an upcoming video. Next time we are in Indonesia we might try Panoramic. We have suitcases and weren’t sure if we could store them in Panoramic class. Jakarta to Bandung seems like the most scenic ride, and while Whoosh is cool, I think we prefer the slow train. Indonesia has some of the most scenic train routes in the world. We were surprised we hadn’t heard more about traveling across Java by train on the Internet.
@@388_daysif you want to try something luxurious but cheap, try using the bus in Indonesia, it is much more comfortable and luxurious than the train but it is not always on time because some places are sometimes jammed
@@388_days the compartmen train is most expensive that KAI have more than 2 million, you have your own room, tv, Wi-Fi, and also your personal asistant for your luxury and food 😊
Yogyakarta to Bandung, reminds me of the person i love, who passed away on March 8 2024. She always used the same train when she came home from Yogyakarta to Bandung, same train, same route 😢 I just missing her tremendously Yogyakarta and Bandung always be our special city in our heart ❤
Welcome to Indonesia ..list recomendeed placed in Bandung 1 street Braga 2 building museum Asia Africa 3 mountain volcano north Bandung Tangkuban perahu and boscha Observatorium Colonial holand and plantation tea water hot Lembang . Enjoy in Bandung
16:30 they're railfans and railfans are everywhere in the world (yes! everywhere). they love taking pictures and videos of trains and post it on social media mostly facebook groups.
you are right, weaknesses of official app of KAI Access is no english or others language options, don't know why they erasing this. but in the past they have option in english. The problems with KAI and many of government own company they don't accept international credit card due to protect our foreign exchange reserves, that the reason you must know. Yes many public services nowday using the biometric system, our government implemented this system as digitalized program in whole aspect. such as cashless payment system, face recognition system in station to reduce queue and also safety. Etc.
I eventually discovered how to change the app to English, but I couldn’t load in our tickets. I really like the idea of the app. It would be great for foreigners, and KAI is already ahead of my countries in that the app available from the United States App Store. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, foreigners can’t use credit cards on the official KAI website. Hopefully this will change in the future. The train journeys are some of the best in the world.
@@388_days You can use credit cards on an online shop like tokopedia, or traveloka, they sell KAI ticket too, you can enter your IDs, and seat choices, and you can use your credit cards there and the price essentially the same with KAI, sometimes with discounts. The online shop will send you a barcode, which you can scan at the station to print your boarding pass.
luv you both, I feel warm to watched so kind and friendly, as Indonesian honestly I never went by train to Bandung before.. turns out looks like comfort and safe... actually Indonesian train services was not like this about 10 years ago, but now better.. the gov did their jobs
Welcome to Indonesia. I've been here since 1993. I have a family home in Yogya and I live in West Java. It's nice to see my adopted home through tourists eyes. One gets accustomed to the views that it becomes quite normal. Really cute pronunciation of towns and cities 😅. Good try though. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Welcome to bandung enjoyed the city and try the food .. baso..batagor and martabak manis (sweet martabak) and martabak telor the best pie in the world 😊
If you are going to take the train to Jogja and Bandung again, take the morning Lodaya train from Bandung and the night Lodaya from Jogja. They use the newest class for their carriages. However, if you are traveling during the day make sure you choose section C and D, because the view is more beautiful than section a and b. You can see the Tiber (big bend) Kadungora, some mountains (the side with the better view of course), and other views
I'd Love Thank To you two..Can Experience Good Tranformation of Indonesia..and Dpecially to Mr. Ignatius Jonan Who Make Some Modern Transform Before He Was Manager Of Public Tranformation in Singapore..👍🇮🇩🙏
Yes. Mr. Jonan did an amazing job with the rail system in Java. It is wonderful for visitors to Java. I hope it is also wonderful for the people that live on Java. 🇮🇩🚆🫶 Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏☺️
Enjoy your journey on the Indonesian train Mr/Mrs, thank you for visiting our country, namely the rice fields in Central Java and West Java including our country's rice barns.
The entire island of Java seems to be a hidden gem for train travel. We travelled from eastern Java after crossing over by ferry from Bali. The entire journey from east to west was spectacular. It’s probably one of the best train experiences in the world when you evaluate comfort, cost, and scenery. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 🙏☺️
@@388_daysdon't forget New Guinea (or Papua as we said), Moluccas and Sulawesi, we're very much different from each others, yet united under one language created in 1928 (Indonesian language) to unite the 1,340 ethnicities and languages of Indonesia.
Honestly, we didn’t have any problems with language in Indonesia. Many people spoke English. We used Google translate to talk to some people like taxi drivers. 🙏☺️
Thank you very much for the kind words. Yes, Stephanie is a very nice and gorgeous person, but I am biased because I am her husband 😂. Thank you very much for watching and leaving such a nice comment. Stephanie was very touched by your words. -Chris
just always take executive class....if you want to try economy class, please only try economy new generation train...dont event try economy regular/ economy premium
It’s a great ride. Maybe very soon you can take the high speed route. I hope they will have it complete in a few years because it’s a long train ride otherwise.
Thanks for the tip. It seemed like the right side had a better view for at least half the trip. The only downside was perhaps the sun shining in the window which would have made it difficult to film. 🙏☺️
We have been on quite a few trains in Europe and Southeast Asia. Indonesia has some of the best trains in the world. Traveling through Java is the most beautiful train journey we have experienced.
I like your “I’ll give it a whirl” whole bit. Very fun and engaging! Curious where you’d rank your time in Indonesia compared to the other places you’ve been in SE Asia. 😂 eye candy! Steph, you are so much more than eye candy! You always make great contributions to your videos!
Very hard to rate each country. Of all the countries we’ve visited, we knew the least about Indonesia so we had fewer expectations. That made Java so much more interesting. Indonesia is so big that it’s really hard to classify it. Java is totally different than Bali. Even East Java is different from Central and West Java. I assume that Sumatra is very different and Borneo is also likely to be very different. And those are just the well known islands. Every place we have visited has been unique in unexpected ways which has made our overall travel experience that much more enjoyable. That’s my roundabout way of not answering your question 😂😂
We have a DJI Pocket 2. We use the microphone that came with the Pocket 2. It’s not a great microphone, but it works most of the time. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 🙏☺️
Hi 👋 This was a pretty smooth ride, but the train did not travel very fast. I do not know the maximum speed, but I’m guessing we did not exceed 100kph. That’s just a guess. Maybe someone else who knows more can answer this question. Thanks for watching 🙏☺️
😂😂😂 To be fair, the food in the cities was much better. But the food wasn’t bad. It was much better than food that we get on an airplane so that’s really our best comparison. And the service was very professional. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Indeed, we are enjoying our time in the country. Java is a beautiful island. We really didn’t know what to expect, but we are so glad we decided to travel by train from east to west. 🙏☺️
Hmm… I went back and looked at the original footage frame by frame. From what I recall those two boys were out watching the train. I didn’t see anything to suggest otherwise. 😅
I wish we had met you before we visited Yogyakarta. Vredeburg Museum was closed when we visited. And we missed going to Alun-Alun street. We needed some suggestions for other places to see beyond Malioboro street. Thanks for leaving a comment 🙏☺️
@@388_days a week ago I received guests, my high school friends who graduated in 1981, all 24 of them. Because I live in Yogyakarta, I am the sole organizer. I was busy going here and there while preparing, of course also when acting as a tour guide. I am happy that they are satisfied with my service. People say Jogja is special
From Bandung, it looks like you are going to Jakarta. If you choose to use. Trains, there are many train choices, namely: regular train (3 hour journey) "Argo, Parahiyangan Train" (Executive class and Premium Economy class), *"Panoramic"* train (more expensive, but this train is specifically designed as a tourist train, very good for enjoying the beautiful views along the way), or if you want to try the HST (High Speed Train) *"WHOOOS "* (the first HST in Southeast Asia) which has a speed of 350 kph which shortens The trip from Bandung to Jakarta only takes around 40 minutes.
We did see a lot of options. We liked the slower inter-city trains because you can really see the beautiful country. Maybe we will take Whoosh in the future if we just need to get somewhere fast.
Hi 👋. Thank you for the nice comment. We took the Argo Wilis 5 which runs from 12:00 - 18:08. We have been using a DJI Pocket 2 for our videos. An iPhone is probably a better camera, but the Pocket 2 is a little easier to manage. To be honest, we were not sure how this video would turn out when we shot it, but the country was so beautiful we decided we had to try to capture it as best we could.
@@388_days It looks like it’s around 2-3 pm in Central Java. The lighting enhances the scenery beautifully, and the way the green blends with the sky is perfect. This scene truly captures the magical feel of the place, reminiscent of Javanese landscape paintings by Dutch artists. Thank you for sharing. I’ll probably get one soon (the camera), as I’m planning a trip to Jogja. Good luck to both of you!
@rizkibalki that sounds about right. About halfway through the sun was perfect, but it also depends on the direction of the train compared to the sun. Sometimes it is shining right in the windows which makes filming difficult.
We consider Sumatra, but decided we didn’t have enough time. We wanted to take a ferry from Java and then take a train across Sumatra. We will need to research more because I think the train may not be as developed as it is on Java. 🙏☺️
We will be taking Luxury Class to Jakarta from Bandung. The private cabins were too expensive. Even luxury class was expensive. We will post a video of our luxury class experience in a couple of weeks.
Thanks. Yes, we spent many weeks traveling from Banyuwangi all the way to Jakarta. Indonesia is very big so we obviously didn’t see many islands, but we did get to visit multiple cities and Java and see the beautiful countryside. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🙏☺️
5:06 Just a suggestion, you could buy "norit" from any local pharmacy when you have a stomachache because of food poisoning or something. It is made from activated carbon which can absorb toxins naturally 🙌
The northern side of the track you could see all of the volcanoes. Ideally you should start the journey from Bandung to Yogyakarta in the morning. The picturous area at the left mostly at the first 2 or 3 hours from Bandung.
We are publishing our videos a few weeks after we visit a location so we have already moved on from Bandung. We really could have used some advice for things to do for the one day we visited. We didn’t have a good plan, and the Asian African Conference Museum was closed the day we were there which was one of the main things we had planned to do. We will have to return in the future and do a better job visiting the city. 🙏☺️
We needed to get some recommendations for things to do in Bandung. Since we only stayed for one day, we didn’t have time to do a lot. Plus, many of the activities were quite a distance from the city. Maybe we will get some good recommendations from viewers about things we should plan to do the next time we visit.
The facial recognition in train station really helped me on a few occasions. It's faster cuz you can breeze through easy especially when you had 7 minutes left before the departure lol classic Indonesian traffic 😅
😂😂 That’s very interesting and very futuristic for us Americans. The traffic was very heavy in many of the cities we visited. Glad you made your train 😂 Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏☺️
We use it quite a bit. We typically try to learn how to say hello, goodbye, and thank you. We also learned "you're welcome." So many people were surprised when we said just a few words in Indonesian. We visit a lot of countries, so it is difficult to learn a lot of vocabulary, but we think it shows respect to learn just a few of the frequently used words. terima kasih
Train ride in indonesia 10 - 15 years ago actually almost the same or sligthly better than india but all change because 1 person name @ignatius jonan who change all of that.
Wow! It’s a great experience. We were both surprised at how nice the trains are. Even better than many trains in Europe. It seems to have been a good investment as we saw many people taking the train.
There is no face access in America that I am aware of. Sometimes we use finger prints or palm readers for access, but I haven’t seen face identification for access.
🙏☺️ It has been very memorable. Most Americans don’t know very much about Indonesia so it was interesting for us to travel through Java and learn about the history. We still have many other places we could visit in Indonesia. I heard Raja Ampat is very beautiful.
