Thank you. I wish we could have shown some happy hunters but that was not the case this year. It is always nice to be in the woods no matter if we harvest a deer or not. Glad you liked the videos.
Yes but that is hunting. I guess if it was only about getting meat it would be better to buy half a beef, ha-ha. Hunting is so much more than that. Thanks for watching.
Nice video George. I wish I could send deer to your cabin area from here. We have possibly too many in southern Michigan. Lots of car/deer accidents. Have a good week.
That would be nice. I believe it will be a long time before deer return to the area around the cabin. Even this mild winter will do little since there aren't any deer left to breed. Nature will figure it out over the long haul. Thanks for watching todd.
Wisconsin just signed a bill for the next 4 deer seasons in the northern wisconsin region bucks only to allow the deer population to reproduce between harsh winters predator problems and to many antlerless deer seasons
Won,t help.. ya need a season on Wolves....get rid of some of your Wolves..Deer have been dealing with harsh winters before America was a nation...Wolves are a 24 / 7 predator ....you can thank your liberal senator and congressman Democrats that helped to re introduce these animals to the northern mid west states..
Yes I saw that. I just went through Wisc. on my way to the Janesville knife show. I probably saw a dozen road kills on the way. Nothing in northern Wisc. but all in central and SE. I think it will be a long time before the herd comes back at the cabin and NE MN. Bucks only will help for sure. Thanks for watch Scott.
@@living_north Wisconsin offers a December antlerless hunt and use to offer a Oct antlerless hunt now they offer a Holliday antlerless hunt the week of Christmas and a youth deer hunt they didn't have any of that when I started and deer populations were good in the mid 1990s
Yes that is part of the problem. Since they are listed as endangered, there can be no management plan put in place. The other side of it is the very severe winters we have had recently. That we have no control over of course but it has to be considered when a plan is made to help increase the deer herd. This mild winter will help in areas where deer are present but won't do much in areas where deer numbers are low or at zero. I hope it turns around over the next few years. Thanks for watching.
Hi..George .. always like your videos buddy.... I feel so fortunate to hunt were I do.. I average 2 bucks a deer season..but we have lots more deer and no Wolves .. Things are so bad in Michigans UP ..that deer camps are being sold......We cant blame our Michigan DNR on this.. the US fish and wild life service were behind the planting of Wolves in Michigan in US federal forests....Being the Wolves are classified on the endangered species list.. ya cant shoot them... but I do have some UP Finnish American friends..that have shoot....shovel and shutup licenses for Wolves
Yes that happens here too in a lot of deer camps. Between the wolves and several years of severe winters, the deer at the cabin are gone for now. Wolf management will help with part of the problems but with protection, that can't happen right now. We can't do anything about the weather however. This mild winter will help in some areas but I don't think it will do much at the cabin because there isn't any deer left to breed. Nice to see you continue to have successful deer seasons Eric. Thanks for watching.
@@living_north .George..thanks for your reply..I,d be screaming at these damn liberal congressmen to do something about the wolf situation.. wer,re putting the pressure on here in Michigan.... I know ..ya gotta be real careful on what you say on youtube..
That could work. Also, ridge stand works since it sits on the top of the hill. Choices in case we decide to name the stands out there. Thanks for watching Steve.
Yes. I have my cabin across the lake from Joe and live about 30 miles from Joe in town. Great neighbor and friend. I hope you follow us to see a little different view of cabins and woods. It is fun to share our time at the cabin with viewers. Thanks for watching.
