Yes it was a nice fall at the cabin. It did change to winter in a hurry it seems. I enjoy your pics of your cabin on facebook. Hard to beat time with family at a cabin in the woods! Glad you liked the video Shawn.
It was a good time for sure but a very different season than usual as you will see in the video in Dec. on deer season 2022. I plan on doing some muzzleloader hunting in the next couple weeks so still time on a deer stand in 2022. Glad you liked the video steve.
No we haven't. A lot of lakes have had so much slush on them from the early, heavy snows we had that it has been tough getting out on the ice. We have a trip planned for lake of the woods in the middle of Feb. Looking forward to that.
Thanks Todd. Fun to do a project that doesn't take a ton of work. Cost is another thing these days. Probably close to $500 with metal, screws, 2x4's and misc fasteners. In the end it is a nice addition at the cabin. Thanks for watching Todd.
Same here. Video will be delayed a bit since Steven is in Brazil now for his college roommates wedding and peacock bass fishing. Hopefully he has some video on that too. Glad you liked the video.
Thanks Larry. I remember that now. It's been some time since I've seen one of those around. Supposed to be a cold, snowy winter so see how accurate the wooly bear is in it's prediction.
Thanks for the reminder Bill. A lot of black on him so it is supposed to be a colder, more snow than normal winter. We will see how that prediction works out. I believe in the signs of nature as predictors more than the weather forecasters. Glad you liked the video.
Hey George. Well deer season is upon us again. Good and safe hunting to everyone. What brand of dryer sheets were you talking about?? I’m interested to find out. Wishing you ATB and again a successful and safe hunt. Mike
Mike I just bought an off brand at Aldi. I don't think it really matters which one you buy because they all have a very strong smell and that is what the mice don't like. I had a different brand the last time so again it shouldn't matter. I plan on doing some muzzleloader hunting next. We had a tough rifle season as you will see when that video gets posted in early Dec. Thanks for watching Mike.
The state will have to get the plan in place soon because I think there are a lot of unhappy hunters in northeast MN this year. The camper is set for the winter and hopefully no critters get inside. Thanks for watching John.
We call those little critters , wooly bears in the north east. The more black , the harder the winter. Hope you have better luck hunting than I am having. Been in deer camp for 7 days and have not seen a tail. One more week but it only takes a moment to fill the buck tag. Good luck to you and your son.
Thanks for the reminder on the wooly bear. The prediction for winter up here is cold and lots of snow. The wooly bear is mostly black so we will see how accurate it is as far as predictions. If that happens I have a feeling if there are any deer left in the woods they will be eliminated with winter kill and predation. Might be a long time before we see deer back in our area. Hope the second week of hunting brought you success. Thanks for watching.
Sounds like all you need is the lazy boy out there Todd and it can be like sitting in your living room! Good luck with the hunt. You probably already have an idea how we did but that video won't get posted for awhile since Steven just flew done to Brazil until the first week of Dec. I plan on doing some black powder hunting in another week near town where there are deer around. We'll see how that goes. Thanks for watching Todd.
George, I was watching Joe’s video and they saw nothing on the first weekend. He said he was talking to you and apparently the state has to do something about the wolf population. Hope that gets settled.
I'm sure the state will hear from a lot of unhappy hunters this year so hopefully they will put a plan together to manage the wolf population. They have a place in nature for sure but overpopulation is not good. That and the tough winters the last few years has certainly reduced or eliminated the deer in our area.
Hey George, Looks like you’re all prepared for deer season. 👍 Is Steven’s son going to hunt with y’all this year ? I hope the wolves stay the heck out of y’alls hunting area !!! Joe and Zach say the wolves have the deer population whittled down to nothing. I like the lean-to you built. I thought for a minute it might be for the Coleman. 😃 It’s perfect for your red wagon and maybe a few rows of firewood on the backside. Good luck with deer season. Hope all y’all harvest a nice one ….or two …each !!! 🦌 🦌 🦌 🦌 🦌 🦌
Thank you TMM. Steven doesn't have any kids so maybe you are thinking of Jon, my son-in-law. He will be up the second weekend of the season. The wolves and tough winters have definitely eliminated most of the deer population in our area. The addition was a fun project to do with Steven and not difficult to put together. Like most things, it will get filled up with stuff eventually. Glad you liked the video.
