Found your channel when looking into Vancouver a few months ago. I love your content and your personality that shines through. From the money to bikini tips (relatable) to even more personal videos like what your sister went through. It sounds like your working really hard. Taking and making opportunities. Inspiring 😀

I don’t know if it’s doable where you’re at right now, but one of my ambitions is to get to a point where I can help give somebody a real chance to succeed in life. Instead of focusing on small efforts that improve many people’s lives slightly (still really great btw), why not focus all available resources into helping one person at a time in a life-changing way? Obviously it takes money to do it, but imagine the long-term results of getting an apartment for a person in need and covering all their living expenses for a few months! I’m sure it doesn’t even have to be that extreme but that’s just a thought I’ve had yk? Great video btw congrats on the progress :)

Congrats on growing your income so quickly!! You’re killing it! Regarding charities, there’s one in Richmond called Rabbitats. They capture and take care of rabbits that people abandon around the lower mainkand, get them vet care and spayed/neutered, and try to find foster homes or adopters for them. We found out about them when they did a pop-up at the Catfé two years ago, and ended up adopting two rabbits from them. They have a website (rabbitats.org) and are on Facebook - today they took in a kit (litter of babies) that were in a construction zone, and are currently trying to catch the mom.

Hey Elizabeth, thanks for the recommendation! That's really cool, I'll look into it for sure. It's always interesting to learn about new organizations. Speaking of rabbits, have you ever noticed the hundred of rabbits at Spanish banks? I wonder if they ever release them back into the wild. Now I'm curious hahah

@@HarmonieV That's awesome! I don't think I've ever been to Spanish Banks (even though I've lived in Van for 8 years now!), but I've heard there are tons there and at Jericho too! Rabbitats does not release them into the wild. They search for fosters and adopters, and build "rabbit colonies" where they house them together.

Thank you for this honest and informative video, Harmonie. I really needed to hear the reassurance part about the time you invest in projects in relation to the time it takes for things to come to fruition. I've been working on a new blog for the last few months and been putting so much into it and hoping that it'll help people. I'm not making any money from it and it's a pure passion project at the moment, but I hope I'll eventually be able to monetize it. Do young Canadians do credit card churning? Credit Card Churning: You MUST pay your credit card in FULL every month. One uses his/her credit card to buy gas, groceries, stuff one needs ( not wants) and the card translates those purchases into points. then one can exchange those points for free airfare, free hotel depending on the credit card you have. Or is that just a USA thing?
@HarmonieV
@HarmonieV 3 года назад
Hey Alex, great question. Yes, in Canada we have a similar point systems. Though, I don't think there is a requirement to pay off your credit in full each month to earn points (in most cases). I've had a rewards card for years and I've never encountered a rule like that. Though, I do pay off my card in full every month, so maybe that has something to do with it? Would be curious to hear from my fellow Canadians, if anyone knows feel free to chime in if you're reading this and know more about it :)
@anoopvk10
@anoopvk10 3 года назад
@@HarmonieV yes.. so unless you pay off your full balance every month there will be a huge interest that's charged to the outstanding amount.. to the tune of 2% a month ie 24% a year (varies between banks/cards)

hahah the store atmosphere was having a BOGO sale & I realized it applied to big ticket items like paddle boards 😂, plus they were doing some sort of other sale event where you take an extra 20-40% off your purchase, so it was pretty uncommon and wild. I got them online and then had to drive like an hour to pick them up at the only location that had boards in stock (in abbotsford) . So it's possible, but kind of a pain in the ass. Keep an eye out incase they have a boxing day sale or something

Awesome that you're able to give back! I dedicate 5% of my monthly income to donations to make it consistent. I generally like to support individuals via GoFundMe (because money directly to individuals can make such a big impact vs. large non-profits) but for organizations, I have a few recommendations. People often question the usefulness of non-profit organizations that are doing more response work, so two organizations that do proactive policy work are the BC Civil Liberties Association and Raven Trust. BCCLA campaigns in legal cases around prison reform, houselessness, COVID19 relief, etc. with the provincial government. Raven Trust (based in Victoria) supports Indigenous nations across the country in their legal battles in protecting their sovereign lands and the environment against pipelines and resource extraction. Hope you check these two out! Their newsletters are very informative.
