I love this! It's so fun to see how other people budget their money! I am so envious of the lower house paymemt and fixed expenses in general! First thing I noticed is that they don't have a ROTH or taxable brokerage account listed. If it were me I would fully fund the ROTH and put any extra in the brokerage account. Thanks for sharing! If I shared mine I'm sure I'd get lots of responses 😆🤣... too much on mortgage, groceries and eating out, not enough to sinking funds and auto loan payoff!

enjoy those new multnomah county taxes - 1.5% here for transit, 3% there for schools, maybe a new 1%+ homeless tax... mind you the state income tax is like 13%. high wage earners give a ton back to pay for "additional" services

I would guess a good chunk of their yearly income is bonuses that they don’t see month to month. Ours is the same way; our monthly budget and our yearly income don’t add up if you don’t take that into account :)

plus stock units , if they are engineers they might be getting that too

I calculated their taxes given the 5% 401k. Together taxes and 401k is $75,686. Subtracted from their income, $154,314 or $12859.50 monthly. $2860 seems like a lot for insurance and stock options. They could also max out their IRAs with that extra money.

Usually companies give 10-15% option as stock plans, where 10-15% after tax gets deducted to be invested in the company stocks at a discounted rate. And i believe they contribute 5% each to 401k match? Wasn't clear in the video but if so that's 5% of each income, making it 10%

Seems like they are somebody who came to US for opportunities as they are sending some "home". 401k is a tricky thing If you don't know you will still be in the country 30 yrs down the line. Maybe that why they are not maximizing it. I am not against car loans if they are below 2-3% interest.

Interesting that they don’t have categories for entertainment, subscriptions, internet, or clothing. I live in this area and definitely think their budgets are very low in some categories, like utilities. $50/month for car maintenance won’t even cover an oil change these days, and they must work from home to only pay $80/month on gas. I agree with paying off the car loan using the extra money every month.

Maybe they pay these out of miscellaneous or the extra slush fund or out of his/her personal money.

If you watch her other videos like this one, it’s usually the same case. Lots of comments about costs missing.

If they have that much money leftover every month, they should probably just pay down the car loan asap. Also, maybe they could up their donations category and lower their gift category? The recommended tithe rate is 10% of net income, it's good to be generous and charitable.

They’re already very generous to the parents @ $1200/month + $100 charity donation, and isn’t gift giving being generous too? Not everyone believes in tithing - they may be atheists for all we know.

@@fofita17 Why does there always have to be somebody who is offended? I made a statement. Everybody should tithe, everybody should be Christian. They probably are Atheists… and? What are the gifts going to? It’d be interesting to know what the gifts are going towards? Themselves? Friends? It’s important give to those that we do not know. Giving money to parents is honorable, but doesn’t count as charity.

@@Happytown7523 sounds like you’re the one offended by their PERSONAL choices and how they handle their PERSONAL finances. 👋🏼
