Hi Julie. I understand how you feel. I spent a lot of time with my parents, taking them out and looking after them. I’m on my own now and it’s hard, I know. But they’d want above all for us to be happy, so got to make an effort and make the best of it. Take care.
Julie, I’m so sorry that things are not working out as you had hoped in your new venture. I do hope you can resolve the issues that you have mentioned, but if you were a relative of mine I would be asking you to think again about whether this was the lifestyle for you, especially if your health issues are going to be ongoing. I Do ask social services for assessment re. some help. Every good wish from me 👍
Hi Julie. I hope you start feeling better. Do you still keep in touch with Nigel? Also, could you change to a composting toilet? I don't know if it would be easier, but it seems like it might be. Hope you can connect with someone soon.💐
Hi Julie, we’ve been boating 20 years and never heard about not being able to steer your boat because of insurance? Can’t you ask the marina for a different mooring nearer the facilities, also you’ve been on your boat during the winter months you will find now the spring is here you should see a difference, everyone will be coming out 😊
Hi Susan, my boat is very near to the facilities, I moved from previous mooring for that reason. I will change insurance when it runs out as it costs 3 times as much as anyone else is paying. Yes, I am so looking forward to the better weather and being outside.
@@JulieDrakeUK we don’t pay anywhere that last year it was £154, this year £163 that’s for a 50 foot boat valued around £50,000 but we’re not livaboards weather that makes a difference 🤷♀️
Hi I'm disabled , I've got a spinal prob lem and nerve damage I both legs! . I've just split from a 30 year relationship. But I've always wanted to live on a barge, when I sell the house, I'd be terrified to do it as a "novice'!! And I'm worce in winter so is it achieve able! daunting Anyway you've answered a few worries. Just daunting how to choose one . Thanks im scared to to do it on my own how do you get to the guts to change your life would love a chat to you because im so indis icive .on my own
I can tell you if you have a nice Marina to stay at and you get some paid help, it is great. In the year I have now lived on the boat I have made some great friends and the social side is great. We have quizes, BBQs, roast dinners, fishing competition and then there is Christmas Day Meal, Halloween Party, New Year's Eve Party and lots more. Happy to chat if it helps.
Hi seems to me marina is not very helpful. I find liveaboards are very helpful bunch, but often paid people such as marina staff and brokers, less so. I have had my boat just over 12 months, insurance no problem.
