That felt pretty intimidating at the start. One thing that really stands out is those people have nothing but nature surrounding them. No internet, modern tech...nothing. They look like the happiest people on earth. Amazing!
I went to the island of Santos Vanuatu about 20 years ago now. We had a tribe meet us on the beach and perform a tribal welcome dance and we stayed with them for one week. There was no electricity and we ate chickens and river prawns. It was a very interesting culture. We were personal guests from a lady we met in Vanuatu. I would do it again. Very grateful for the experience.
@andreaalvarez3001 I imagine that we only need community & love for happiness. Us who live in modern societies are blinded by materialistic things that we don't really need. I love how their culture seems so pure. We are raised in our modern societies to act and be a certain way wheras they look, normal? Maybe that's why we don't seem as happy because we're not actually living how we were born to live. Idk, it's late and I have work tomorrow 😅
That was absolutely awesome! I love when people from different backgrounds/culture get together and connect. They seem to have a simple yet envious life on that beautiful island.
I'm from Vanuatu, my family has been there for generations and we are mainly in Efate Port-Vila. My family has helped the country develop a lot through commerce. I am also mixed with Ni-Van as my ancestors are from Mele Village and Ambae. I hadn't been back in 7 years as I went abroad for my studies and wen't back this year for new year. Just arrived back to Canada today to continue my studies and seeing this video really makes me realize how lucky I am from coming from such a wonderful place.
Wow, welcome back bud. You’ve really lived through some different worlds. When I first saw the video I told my friend it was fake, because it was presented as an island no one has ever gone to, but it’s clear it has just preserved its way of life even though people come and go.
@@emmanueloshaddai3259 thanks bud! Yeah honestly I never realized how lucky I was living there until I left for my studies. Don’t take me wrong, the world has amazing places to offer in terms of sightseeing but Vanuatu is just so damn different. Just walking in Port-Vila, everyone greets you. People are just happier hence why we are always close to the spot 1 happiest place on earth and actually won that tittle twice if I remember correctly. If you ever go travel there, Efate, the main island, is great but we used to have a huge sign at the airport saying “Efate isn’t Vanuatu” because truth be told, the other island are way more beautiful! I’d recommend Santo and Tanna if you ever go and visit.
Dude I can’t even get my neighbors to say “hi” back and Brodie just out here as a rando getting a huge ceremony! These people are such beautiful happy souls
@@amberc.2137that's why I'm friendly to most people. They sometimes don't know how to react lol it's true as a society it's fcked how unfriendly and cold we are
Man! youtube algorithm brought me here.... this has to be the best video I've ever seen... I was so damn happy and I have a grin on my face I can't hide. What a wonderful experience. God bless you man and them as well What a trip!!! Thank you for having the camera to record this I would not have believe or imagine it if it wasn't for the video.,.... Cheers from Mexico
Such a beautiful country and amazing locals My honeymoon was in Vanuatu. It’s been eight years since I cannot wait to go back. The locals made me feel at home much love.
And dental examinations, and vehicles with internal combustion, and libraries, and the scientific method, and surplus value(wealth), and longer-life span, and anesthetics, and the right to dissent, and a lack of superstition when making decisions, and the sound of a piano, and a lifetime travel radius of more than three miles Ugh, The level of victim-mentality people can reach 🤦🏻
@@dmonarredmonarre3076 ikr, people just cant be gratefull for what they have. Like yes they have something we dont on that island, but WE have way more things THEY dont.
A guy I know at work grew up on Vanuatu as a missionary with his family he lived amongst some of the local people and tribal people and he’s got a lot of crazy stories.
THAT was absolutely epic! I have a deep respect for ancient cultures, and appreciate showing us this. They pointed their weapons at you to test your ‘lack of fear’/manliness, and your ability to walk right amongst them without fear is the earth based projection of love, and they loved you for that. 😊
One of the most beautiful smiling bunch of people I've ever seen. Just raw emotion, pure hearted people connected with their land. Absolutely wonderful 🥰
@@doomguy584 Respect to them, but I don't think being funded by tourism is how we're "meant" to live. Most tribes are found in a state of desparation, starving, surviving to 40, treating terrible illness with dances and offerings etc. If that's how we're meant to live I'll stick with the evolved society I know 👍
this is how humans should be living. In a village, a community where everyone’s purpose in life is to contribute and care for one another. you always have people looking for you & you back. existing to live. what a beautiful snippet of something that doesn’t feel real to todays modern life but my heart yearns for a life like theirs because it is human nature.
At 4:25 you'll see the same people before they got dressed (or undressed) to put on the show. They love their brand names and mobile phones just like the rest of the modern world. Just more dependent on the tourist bucks to get them, but yes they can be more reliant on local trade and markets for daily living.
My best mate is a Full Blood Kanaka his Mother was from Tara Island & hi Dad was from Tanna! They both were Stolen off the beaches & forced as slaves to work in Queensland Sugar Cane. Sadly he has just passed away from cancer, but I will never forget his Smile & Laugh, miss you my Brother Joogie!
It's obvious that they were in much contact with people before. They have homes and some are wearing clothes at the end. So he knew that he wasn't in danger.
@@ViralVideos-pr2oi If you read between the lines you could tell he was instructed to raise his ands and act submissive and they would let him pass. He was smirking the entire time and some of them were laughing and smiling while they were pretending to attack him. Did you not see watch the same video as us? Did they actually come across as threatening to you.
I am from Vanuatu and I'm glad Brodie had a chance to visit & experience some of our local traditions. 👏 People here are super friendly plus there's still more to unravel!
Hi I'm from Vanuatu and I'm glad you're enjoy with the people out there. They usually did the custom performance for tourists that's why they dress up traditionally. Small is beautiful, welcome to Vanuatu ❤💚💚💚
The one villager pulled his bow and arrow up at Brody on the trail to the village. It was difficult to tell, in the beginning, weather the islanders would lead them to death or celebration
probably some sort sort ceremonial welcome dance that incorporates warriors - if they didn't want them there you can bet they would be launching arrows from the shore lol
@@julius43461 aww no this is a real tribe lol 😂 they have been recorded before lol an there are many many more just like it lol they do see people some times thon unlike what they tell us. Yes it's video for views but these are real people that live off that island an these are those people
hey brodie, the last 6 months of my life has been crazy as i have had a 5cm tumour removed from my brain and have been through 6 weeks of radiation and your videos always put a smile on my face :) keep it up legend, always looking forward to your vids
The worst thing that can happen to a wonderful community like this is to be " discovered " that becomes the beginning of your problems and disintegration.
Don't worry, this Brody guy was just another mug tourist to them, they've acted out this backpacker fantasy dozens of times before. They'll do the same for you if you go there with a pocketful of spending cash.
@@ZZ-mh2nv Oh shut your overly-sensitive ass up. No offense was intended. When we clicked on this video, we knew NOTHING about these wonderful people. But as we watched the video, we were educated and learned that this is not a hostile tribe. You DO know that some tribes around the world are hostile and WILL kill you, right? So yes, the tribes reaction to him had us concerned at first. Understandably. Sit down and be quiet.
Watched a series about 10 years back featuring this tribe. Happy to recognise some familiar faces and see them still in strong numbers. Can't wait for more content Brodie!
I discovered this video from shorts others have posted, all of which people are joking in the comments. But I'm so glad to have found the original video. This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. These people are so welcoming, happy, and beautiful
Come to New caledonia mate, French island 4/5h flight from Vanuatu. French paradise on earth if u want a kinda paradise cheap experience ! and wilderness !
No wicked influence? They were cannibals until colonialism outlawed it in the 1950s. They used to cut the penis of little boys to have sex with them. Mothers routinely ate every third child. They have a history of such savagery that they were feared by Polynesians. The Japanese thought they were demons and included them in their legends as cruel demons who would eat people.
These people are animals, this is absolutely no way to live. I hope In the near future they adapt to our modern ways, If not they should definitely be eradicated. As for the tribe on north sentinel island, those people need to be completely killed off, they literally killed 2 people who accidentally landed on the island after their anchor snapped.
Uhm we actually do have technology!! But that is in our capital city (Port vila) And some other islands have it too (by the way in Vanuatu has 83 islands)
These are islanders from Vanautu. They’re very friendly and this guy is living on the island learning from the tribe. He posted on his channel like 3 days ago. Man is still alive and is having a very educational experience.
I just looked up the full video after seeing the short... I bet this was an amazing and awesome experience.. they are soooo dark their skin is absolutely gorgeous!! Reminds me of black obsidian. ❤️🔥 And their energy and smiles!! Thanks for sharing this amazing experience!! ❤️🔥🫂
Vanuatu is a beautiful country and so are its people. The loud greeting and show of traditional hunting weapons is a show put on for tourists all throughout the islands. They are a very friendly and welcoming people.
No , he's doing really well but hes not main stream yet. People like Mr Beast or the Paul Brothers are main stream, that's not to take away from how well he's doing but he isn't main stream... Yet
I just love how welcoming they are. I would've just cried out of happiness when some one would greet me like that. I would be so into jumping and screaming around with the locals. My ADHD would be on 110%
Wow! What an incredible experience. I can only imagine the slight bit of terror and excitement you felt at the beginning, and then the privilege to be accepted and witness their way of life. You have stepped it up a notch Mr. Moss. Thank you for bringing us along for the ride. Whooo!-----------------------~
@@TribalShark142 He is saying your an NPC because you believe this shit. Its like 75% staged at best. How does your simple brain watch this and think yeah this is a tribe that has only seen 1-2 white men before. This is insanely staged. Come on dude...
@@Bubblebunzz My question mark was not because I didn't know what npc was. It was to get his version of feed back. Thanks for the breakdown S27C. Although, I never once thought or said that I thought (with my simple brain) that this tribe has only seen 1-2 white men before. But since the most unmistakable & all knowing mind on YT has spoken....well, who should argue. I do wonder why you (a subscriber to YBS) watch so much and comment negatively on YBS page if you're not a closet fan boy..orrrrr maybe you just have a simple mind too after all. ***Looks like S27C deleted his prior belittling post directed toward me. Moving on.....
I love seeing and learning about new cultures and this was amazing. I love the enthusiasm they show receiving a guest to their island. I bet that was the best, most amazing and a touch scary welcome Brodie has ever received in his life! What a rush......living the dream!
We didn't learn a thing about their culture. He didn't tell us their names, their tribe, provide some history or description of their beliefs - just _look at me on this wild adventure with the natives who've never seen a white man or drone whoa!_ So disappointing.
@@danidejaneiro8378 I can tell you because I'm from there but not that island i think it's called (Tanna or Ambream) and we are located in the south pacific called (melanesian people) don't mix us with Polynesian people or Micronesian because we have brown skin, black skin or some of us have textured hair (by the way I'm mixed but I was born there ) and our history was a bit deep i know some of the comments are like "I bet they are so happy because food has arrived" so uhm in the past our ancestors did eat humans like some other countries called Solomon Islands 🇸🇧, Tonga 🇹🇴 and Fiji 🇫🇯 (i just know this but the beilfes and the name of the tribes Don't know!)
I was afraid for them in the beginning and then I was jealous when they got to the village. The authentic music and vibes you only see in movies and TV. Amazing culture.
They’re happy because they a not locked into the system.they are free to move around as they wish without being monitored or controlled, they are at peace with each other and are one with nature and have very limited contact with the outside world which is extremely toxic.
@@coolbeans7z539 The current life expectancy of Vanuatu inhabitants is 70 years old. The life expectancy of USA is 77 years. So yea, I think you are full of hot air and zero substance. Good day to you :) P.s. why are "YOU" so unhappy? :P I think you proved my point.
Mate, this show is awesome! The stuff you do,the editing and production behind all filming is amazing! Ive seen shit on tv that doesnt compare to this! Well done guys! 100% support this channel!
Interesting to watch. I went to Vanuatu is 2007. Fell in love with the place. Proposed to my now wife on Tanna. Met a chief, who welcomed me into their home, and showed me around his village. The people are so amazingly welcoming, friendly and just beautiful people. The land is breathtaking. We plan to return with my kids for our 40th birthday. It will be interesting to see how you show Vanuatu, and be respectful to its people and culture. One Life, One Search, Shane
What an idyllic and beautiful way to live. Does not matter where in the world you come from these people right here probably live a life that is more free and similar to that of our ancestors than most of us will ever live. Im sure they are a lot happier for it too.
This video literally cleansed my soul. Thank you Brodie, I just discovered your channel and I've been watching your videos for hours now. I live in Istanbul which is a pretty fast city with nothing natural left in it, watching your videos take me back to my childhood. Being in the sea all day long, appreciating nature and always being in it... Now thankfully I've only got a couple of more years till I can turn my life around and start living the way I want, always being in the nature, always at the sea. Your videos inspired me a lot and I still have a lot of videos to watch from your channel. Also, I was thinking your energy is unmatching, till I saw this video, these beautiful people definitely matched your energy. I'm so happy to see it!
As a freshman in college I took cultural anthropology and my professor was assigned Vanuatu for her PhD thesis and she ended up living amongst the people for about 5 years and considers the native’s family.. I got to learn all about them second handedly and they’re such an interesting group of people.
I had goosebumps watching this, these people are awesome ! I feel their excitement and joy ! Imagine how they live in an isolated Island ..simple and peaceful away from noisy world living in fresh environment and yet happy. :)
This has to be one of the most spiritually uplifting and beautiful videos I have watched so far this year. Would absolutely love to do this one day! Great video
I felt all the emotions watching this. I was shit scared when they just grabbed him with spears thinking, "Are they going to eat him"... then burst out crying because I felt the love when they welcomed him. Then I burst out laughing when the woman at the end danced like I do with that exact same expression. This is what freedom and peace looks like 💛
vanuatu is one of the most magical places i have ever been, i have been there twice now i actually just came back today i was there for a week and a half, honestly so beautiful, im glad to see your having fun there.

This was so amazing to watch how they just welcomed you with open arms it is so cool that they let you into their community and we were able to see a little bit of how they live.
This made me so happy to see!! I would love to meet these wonderful people! They are so beautiful. Their culture seems so rich and lovely. They are filled with joy! I want to go!!!!
To give them Coke and social media and tell them that they have been misgendered. Please leave them and go somewhere that you guys have broken already eh..
