I’m getting chills just thinking back when Penacony first released. It was so fun BTW beware some quests have optional dialogues/events, for example, you chose to talk to the bird right away, instead of doing the optional quest of asking Firefly to take your photo, so you missed that Later in, there’s a MEGA lore drop that is only available in optional quests, and if you miss it, it's gone forever

Yay more pacony story to start the day! Is aleady explained but not in a clear manner, penacony was a prison that part you know but the owner of the prison was the IPC that is the corpo aventurine works for, now penacony is a hotel that get a lot of money so the IPC want it back for them!

Penacony had the best arc and I miss it so much, it's so fun watching someone play it for the first time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!

Just as a note/reminder of why Ratio and Aventurine know each other- Ratio is a member of the Intelligensia Guild, which is a Subsidiary of the IPC. So technically, Ratio is an IPC employee (albeit has nothing really to normally do with the financial side).

Excited to see you experience Penacony for the first time 🎉 Seriously this region is truly amazing. And you know, you're right about Inception! Fun fact but during Penacony livestream, devs even put a little easter egg with a spinner toy from Inception when talking about dreamscape 😂 Just a little side note because it's not explained anywhere in the story. In Chinese and some other languages Sigonian means gypsy/romani so when you encounter stuff like Ratio conversation and so on... It's basically ethical discrimination/hurtful stereotypes based on real history. Penacony story is really great about that, like you said the surface is really pretty but there are indeed weird and serious stuff going on.

I really hope Mage properly learns to take advantage of Adventurine financially when the opportunities arise. 🙏🏾

★The following text is not necessary for understanding Penacony and currently any future main quest. But because of its great impact in the story of Star Rail universe, I decided to summarize the lore of this event. (I used Lalody's Lore simulated universe videos as a base) Simplified Summary of the Swarm Disaster Part 1 Pre Swarm/birth of Tayzzyronth: Around the start of the mode, is introduced the Order and Beyond the sky choir, followers of Ena the Order (the choir is an allusion of the Choir of Heavenly Angels of biblical stories. I have a theory that they are likely the origin of the Halovians that appear on Penacony, like Robin and Sunday). The Propagation appears with depiction of cries similar to infants, which becomes more important later. Aha messes with an unknown genius, and also a lot of people during this event, but it is going to be an even longer comment if mentioned. (Fun fact, at some point, The Elation wanted to trick Akivili so they pretend to be human, and blew up a planet and half of the express). Ouroboros the Voracity is visualized for the first time, which is Qlipoth the Preservation nemesis, considering their fight to protect the universe from leviathans (cosmic beasts that devour everything, seemingly existing before the birth of Aeon. Also their remains were used by the Antimatter Legion to create the first boss of the game), and Ouroboros is both a leviathan and an Aeon. Around this time, Qlipoth warned his Architects to repair the barriers of star systems. Images of shadows flicker between insects and Melchiez adopted sons (he is likely inspired by a Melchizedek, a christian figure, meaning they're from a civilization likely loyal to Ena). It's revealed that the Swarm originated from the Lepismat star system armies, essentially confirming that the propagation insects are actually transformed humans. An elydichnan soldier witnesses the advent of the new age, the Swarm going to the sky, seemingly a colossal eye was also observing everything, being The Order. We learn of an isolated island named Mandalan, the first world that the Swarm descended after their ascension, being their original breeding place. There's was great increase of newborn babies on the island that all turned into bugs, creating a swarm through the sk. An evacuation happened on Lapole major (I think it's a nearby city) but one woman refused to leave, her name was Melchidek, which lost her children to the swarm. She ended up raising an insect as her own child, which makes her house flooded with her new babies. We discover later that her home was destroyed by the Swarm and inside, there were 87 tiny garments and over 7000 pairs of small shoes, her children never returned and she finally cast herself into the dark cloud that enveloped the sky, the Swarm. Now the Swarm Disaster finally started, leading to one of the biggest events in history.*

Hey Mage, make sure you check messages from the people you run into in Penacony as soon as you get them. You lose certain messages as the story progresses

Penacony in general is supposed to represent the US, just as the Xianzhou represents China and Belebog…idk Russia or something. Hence the whole “land of dreams” as well as Acheron’s message of false realities (not everything is what it seems)

One thing they don't clearly explain when you start, is that in the Dream you can look like anything. Beastar isn't really a bear, just someone panhandling for hugs (I think). I mean, that's their idea of a good time I guess. There is, of course, a dress code of sorts so you can't be too wacky-looking or upsetting to other people, obviously. There are several characters you meet who are not as they appear in the dream. :3
