Living The Porsche - is a Film by Sydney based company, SoDUS Films. The guys from SoDUS followed Grant and the team at AutoHaus for more than 8 months to capture stories here at the workshop, away at the track and from some of our clients. The film was premiered in Sydney, we were there along with 250 of our good friends. The night was a huge success but obviously not everyone could get there to see the work. Here is the full-length version of Living The Porsche and we are proud to share it with you. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Many thanks to the guys at SoDUS films for letting us share it exclusively on the Autohaus channel.

I never feel compelled to comment. But I just bought my first Porsche 911 cabriolet 1987 yesterday and watching this gave me the urge to tell the world I am now a Porsche owner. I wanted this car as a kid and now it’s mine. I am so blessed with my life and this is a cherry on top. It feels good to be parr of the club. One day you’ll own one too just be patient and humble and the opportunity will rise. Stay blessed guys and gals. Take care.

Going through the research and buying process myself. I still remember the GT silver Carrera miniature I used to play with at my grandparent's house when I was 3 or 4 years old. It's a car that is simply cemented with my being. 99% of people will never understand and that's ok...

How i got my Porsche; A rich friend of mine, nearing retirement age, envied myself seeing me having fun in my Z3. He asked me to get him one also. I (a simple poor technician) told him, (he was a doctor); ''No Adam, rich people like you buy Porches. I'll find you one" Which I did. When I send him the pictures, he was shocked, afraid of being hijacked etc. I was very disappointed, so I bought it myself. God has a sense of humor. Never give up on your dream. It will materialize. After many years I never get over it. An awesome privilege indeed. Life is too short not to own a Porsche.

As a 911 owner, which took me a while to find just the right one, I love this. Every owner I’ve met is indeed an enthusiast. Such a strong brand loyalty; I’ve never met a driver who didn’t love their car or know all the intricacies of it. Hard to meet someone who just had money to blow and doesn’t understand their car. Thank God. Those people can find another brand 😅

7:34 in and yes it speaks of Porsche well. I am an aircooled freak I love them. My dad told my Mum he was going to buy a Volkswagen (Beetle) while she was pregnant with me, he came back to the 1 bedroom unit they were renting in a 356 B, 2 weeks latter I was transported home from Hospital in that same car. My Dads a champ and my Mum was considerate in his love of beautiful cars.

I'm going to break tradition and comment on RU-vid. This is the best Porsche short film I've seen. There is no other marque that brings people together; that ignites passion for engineering excellence and dynamics; and that lights up the faces of young and old alike in the same way. This is truly the zenith of automotive driving development. As a 3rd Generation German auto enthusiast and engineer, it's great to see the passion continue into the newer cars that undoubtedly are robbing some of the 6 senses from the driving experience. (yes I am slightly partial to older cars!) I've passed this onto my father who I think trained Grant in the early days at Hamiltons. Good to see Klaus and Alan as well. As for me - I'll have a sweet shifting aircooled G50 of any sort, everything else is superfluous. 'A product that is coherent in form requires no embellishment.'

What a great film. From the editing, the music, and overall artistic standpoint, A+. Thankfully I have a couple of Porsche products to admire and enjoy. I feel gifted in that regard. All the opinions and comments reflected in the film are spot-on. My favorite manufacturer without question. Once you’ve driven a Porsche, all other vehicles are judged with the Porsche experience as a standard.

VERY VERY touching I am in love with Porsche! I remember how I found out about Porsche I was about 7-8 so 2007 or 2008 and I saw a 911 it was black on black and I remember asking my dad what car is that? And he said that's a Porsche he does not like Porsches however I feel like I am connected to it somehow like it runs in my blood every time I get behind the wheel of my first car which I just got recently a 86' 944 which I am gonna make it to a street legal track car bride seats, maybe a newer Porsche engine, tint the Windows, roll cage, better Porsche brakes, some Porsche rims that don't look crappy, new badge maybe, 944 badge, repaint it white, get a new decal for the back, new under spoiler, fenders, doors, new steering wheel etc.

The tipping point of driving a classic 911 porsche begins with an unbridled desire for a degree of self actualisation sparked by any one of numerous triggers. The fancy of a drive is tickled by one's dreams of self super car status being realised. One achieves this through a kaleidoscopic imagination and partial satiation of sitting in one and experientially enjoying the joy of the many quirks smattered with exhilaration and deft hands on feeling. From first sight followed by the solid grip, unlocking clicking handle to your gentle sliding entry on the leather seats which snugly hug your body. The moment you feel the taught steering, the car begs you to insert the key. As you slide in the key and turn the key the motor growls into a roar that spikes your adrenaline and takes your breath away... more to follow

I'm only 20 mins. into this film yet I can already see this is the type of driving I love the most. I once spent about 15 hours driving through the night in S. Korea on roads like this, no idea where I was and the passengers not appreciating it one bit, yet it was one of the most enjoyable nights of my life. How does one get into this type of racing, in North America, for example? Or, for that matter, in Oz, where I've also spent some time? One question in particular: suspension height. I imagine it's quite different from what you'd have in typical road racing. Thanks for the film, which I'll now continue to enjoy. Cheers!

Really enjoyed this documentary, really pro level photography, music, and a wide range of owners/interviewees. I was never a car guy, until my buddy bought a cayenne. Don't get me wrong, I don't like SUV's at all, but something about his cayenne (and he later got the cayenne turbo) just set it apart from any cars I've ever been in. I had to go try a Cayman S for myself, two months after I got my driving license, and I was blown away. The sound, the feeling of the car, just absolutely different than anything else. I could barely control it, you have to really be careful with your inputs, especially when you don't have much experience. I've long looked at other vehicles too, Audi S5, Volvo S60, BMW 3/5 series, but something just keeps telling me there's just no substitute. I will buy a Cayman S/911 one day, I could buy one now, but financially speaking it might not be the smartest decision at my age. Thanks for being an inspiration in owning a Porsche guys.

This documentary is beautiful and 100% on target. Unfortunately, I will never own one due to the cost, but still love them as their beauty is timeless. My favorite are the 930/911 Turbos of the 1980's. Those were raw Porsches here in the states. I imagine it was like owning an uncontrolled, unrefined animal that had way too much testosterone and was meant to run wild. The car screamed and yelled at you when driven, you kicked it back, and then the turbo lag........gave you a kick in the ass along with the heat (anger) from the rear as retaliation, while shaking you around in the cockpit causing you to use two hands on the wheel. The car was driving you as much, if not more, than you were driving the car. A real head turner even today in the states....the sound, look, and it's own audacity makes everyone pay attention to it's presence. Please Porsche, bring back turbo lag, simplicity, and the raw crudeness of that era .....it's infectious😉🙏🤸‍♂️

I call it my 'point and go', or my 'make things in the rear-view mirror get smaller' machine. The Autobahn is basically a war. . . and a Porsche 911 is the nuclear weapon. I kicked EVERYONEs butt without even blinking. I would even slow down for this Audi A6, just to blow him away again. God bless Ferdinand Porsche.

@29:47 The gentlemen talks about how the auto industry is "full of people who are miserable", I couldn't agree more. It seems the true techs and mechanics who really love what they do are getting harder to find by the day. I've worked in garages and as a parts salesmen. The common denominator that ruined it for me is peoples attitudes. I tried, I tried for years to put on a smile and while I could sell anything to everyone, at the end of the day it's either people had unexpected expenses for the car they didn't understand the costs of maintaining or they think that just because their is competition they can walk all over you and expect you to take it. I've quit working with the public in this regard because of this, which is a real loss to them as I know auto parts inside and out. I'm the kind of guy that will go the extra mile and really look at parts as to how and why they are designed, what is the history of the part etc. My current build is a 76' 924 and I have systematically went through almost the complete car and rebuilt it from the ground up. Because of the NLA list of many of the parts for this car, I was able to rebuild it from numerous parts from a half a dozen cars. Love what this movie is about and I hope Autohaus is here for a long time to come!

@@jaikee9477 I couldn't agree more about the statement you made there. I am American and there is a point where if you don't have a passion for it, then it's just a miserable job. For me, though it's an addiction. Porsche is in my blood and will never leave. The 911 air cooled is in my book the best invention in the world. They are a European hot rod. They are what true bliss is all summed up in lightweight metal and glass. There is nothing like getting my 68 911s and cracking the throttle on a quiet spring morning. It's a drug and it's a lifestyle.

Once you own a 911. Nothing else really feels right. I don't know what it is but, it's a in your soul thing. Thanks to the US Army for letting me live 1985 - 88 where it was born.

Honestly i love Porsche i would love to own a 911 one day, i recently took a 997 911 Carrera S for a test drive it was amazing... however until then, my 98 Spec ITR gives me amazing thrills for very little money and with extremely high reliability. Like the guy says, "just before you hit the rev limiter.. you feel alive." I get same feeling.

In the process of purchasing my first Porsche, however im worried if it makes a big difference if i got an import one or not. It would be an right drive factory so no conversion would be needed.Any ideas?

As a lifelong Porsche/VW lover or visa versa lol, just enjoy the fact that you are going to get one. With all due respect be thankful that you have this opportunity to do so. Think of all of the others who wish they could be in your shoes and inwardly know that they might not ever have their chance. So I guess to answer your question...what ever model/variant that strikes a chord with you must be the one. Thank you for your time and no disrespect intended by the way. Now go get that dream!
