The "Living with Leopards” program was initiated in Devprayag by the Uttarakhand Forest Department and Titli Trust. It aims at promoting peaceful coexistence between humans and leopards. The Uttarakhand Forest Department organized the awareness programs first in Tehri and Pauri. 37 cases of leopard attacks were reported in Tehri between 2006 and 2009. Between 2017 and 2020, the number of cases came down to 9. Going by the numbers, the project has been a success in Tehri. To initiate mitigation measures, the program educates locals about leopard behaviour and implements innovative techniques to prevent human - leopard conflicts. They have created a Rapid Response Team (RRT) and an awareness program for all stakeholders telling them why it is important to mitigate conflicts with the leopard. By fostering harmony and understanding, this initiative strives to protect leopards and ensure the safety of both humans and wildlife in Devprayag
The film is made under the Green Hub Central India (GHCI) fellowship, a project of Dusty Foot Foundation and Mahashakti Seva Kendra (MSK), that looks at empowering youth in environment conservation, sustainable agriculture and livelihood through the digital medium.
