Steve does sound a lot like my dad. Both being very strong minded and amazing people. dad always feels so helpless too, which adds to his frustration. when he gets the Igaze it'll be great to give him back a little independence. It's sad to see him upset about not being able to help himself, even though for us as a family helping him is no problem. It's just good to give him what we can to keep him happy. I hope you are all well, thank you for all the support you've been giving me :) xxxxxxxxx

lovely to hear from you. That sounds a great idea, its so important to be able to communicate, steve used a litewriter, we had to help him use it he hated loosing his voice, every loss is another berievement , it is all a very sad time for everyone. but we got threw the best we could, steve sounds similar to your dad. a very proud man. he just wanted to be treated as himself,, but felt like a helpless child, in a mans body.that sense of loosing control is so hard, and frustration sets in xxxxxxx

as you say giving your dad what he needs to help him keep happy is the best you can do,steve loved his back being rubbed and legs and arms too it picked him up. keeping their spirits up is good too. steve did say at times changes all around the house etc was upsetting because its another riminder about the disability. we did get an adapted car which did help, because it gave a sense of freedom for all of us.steve coped better out the house, escape. sending you all love and support, xxxxxxxxxxxx

you are doing amazingly well all of you. As you say just go with the flow, that is all you can do. Your dad must feel very blessed to have you all to help him through this challenging time. I would suggest you look into getting some help with dad from a carer to work with you, my brother had a very caring man who helped us, washing shaving and dressing and keeping moral up, its a tough journey. sending love to all of you xxxxx
