I got back at my high school (c/o '79) bully 30 years ago (1990), he saw me riding the trolley and laughed at me and thought I would never amount to anything, I got in his face and asked him what has he achieved in his life, and asked me if I wanted to step off the next stop, I said no and knocked him out cold. (I took up boxing and martial arts and man did it come in handy) about 15 years later (2005) we met up again.....he sat down and we had a long talk.....but most of all he apologized and then......he became a close friend. Sometimes in life, people might never change but you always hope for the better.

When I was growing up, I was bullied through four phases of my life, elementary, middle, and high school, as well as job corps when I was in my early twenties. During this time, the people who bullied me pulled knives on me and threatened my life, and one nearly broke my brother's finger against a chain link backstop. My revenge came when I inadvertently injured my bully's knee by him ramming my bicycle with his, and us toppling over. Twenty years later, he came to my family's farm to seek help with his drug addiction. In a way, it did us both some good, because it gave us a chance to apologize to each other.
