I follow Joel and only sometimes watch Lizzie and I have NEVER thought of her as just "Joel's wife". For ppl that are minor in popularity compared to their partner it makes sense, but both of these two are at similar levels of popularity.

I like lizzie She is creative, funny, obnoxious and dedicated She has that girly vibe while keeping control I also love watching the other lizzie, she so girly and over the top, I Iove it.

That was how I started watching his content. I feel kind of bad but at the time of CrazyCraft I just knew he was Lizzie’s boyfriend

I often find that people watch Joel for lizzie, so I'm surprised that Joel is becoming more of his own person without being associated with lizzie; in the sense that he's his own person and not just "lizzies husband" It's quite funny to me that it's been switched around.

It's the fact that they both have pretty huge channels for me. I get it for someone like Grian's wife because we know nothing else about her, because they both keep their privacy. But that's also why people rarely ever mention her, meanwhile with Lizzie, she's clearly talked about often enough for this to become a noticeable thing, so you'd think people would at least try and remeber her name if they'll talk about her this often. Especially considering Joel mentions her by name even in his HC videos, she's been a guest on the server before and was part of the big Empires collab. It's like they don't even bother trying to see her as a person and not just an extension of Joel.

I think it might be that she isn’t as prominent anymore. She’s semi retired and doesn’t upload all that much except when she’s in an smp, while Joel literally did 2 at once.

I read that Lizzie was asked to join, but she chose not to for now. It would make sense that her passing on it would have made it possible for Skizz to then join. (Since Lizzie is an excellent builder and Minecrafter - which Hermitcraft is known for - and Skizz isn’t.) Just what I’ve heard.

I'd say it's a bit of both. The whole thing with Etho prompted a lot of "his wife must be so angry/what will his wife say" comments from people who don't know Lizzie. Which in itself is interesting because the whole obsession thing originally started in the life series, which she is a part of, but even for those who never watched anything but HC, Joel always refers to her by name even if it is preceded by "my wife", so it's hard to imagine someone knowing he's married without knowing her name

Most people who watch hermitcraft also watch f.eks. the life series, or mcc, or empires. Where Lizzie has been in all of them. I don't think there's a legit reason, just people finding Joel very recently and somehow not knowing Lizzie. Like, f.eks. when I found Jacksepticeye, I called Markiplier "Jack's friend" bc I only saw Mark when thye played a game together. Yet Mark had much more subscribers than Jack, I just didnt know of him.

Yeah, the joke itself is fine, but I don't like the amount of people I've seen who assume what Lizzie would say about it without even knowing her name. I genuinely think it's gotten to a point where some people don't realise the whole obsession thing is just a joke

Especially as they’re not the normal couple that spends 8 hours or more per day away from each other because of work. It’s actually impressive they’re such a good couple because a lot of people would have lost their minds

it's just a joke, like asking her about his etho obsession, it's all in good fun, the people saying it know her name or username, likewise if they're saying lizzys husband they know who joel is, or at the very least they know smallishbeans

It's odd to me, because when he's talked about her in Hermitcraft videos, he pretty much always refers to her as "my wife, Lizzie," so even with these new fans coming in who may not be familiar with her, you'd think they'd know her name just because of how often he mentions her by name.
