LK Chen is certainly stepping up and filling in a gap in the Chinese sword market. And as most reviews I've seen so far have been largely positive seems they're doing it right. Sure they still have room for improvement but they seem to be doing better than many companies soon after being in the game; especially at the price point! and I agree with some of the other commenters that for test cutting videos it's nice variety and educational to try a variety of different targets; particularly less common targets.

That uncomfortable nubbin would definitely be a deal breaker for me. Never in a million years would i have thought to cut bags or popcorn. Gonna have to try that. I would definitely like to see some branches in the abusive test portion.

That look like the short handle one. LKChen offers a long handle one that does not seem to have the problem.

Targets to test, I'd suggest, tatami as a control target ( it's kind of a standard for blade testing), 1 1/4 inch oak dowel to simulate the shaft of a polearm, the blade of another sword and of course to finish, Anathar.

Simulated langets (sp) of a pole arm. Leather, silk, lamalar equivalents. Not the actual armor or clothing, but squares of the stuff. Maybe on a pool noodle "body"?

Personally, I'd like to see combat strength blows against armor, but unless you have a big budget it would be ridiculously unsafe. The last thing anyone wants id for someone to get hurt if a blade exploded into shrapnel or became... I believe the phrase you use is "a helicopter of death". I think you need to get yourself a sturdy 4x4 post... it would be strong enough to handle your strongest strike and if a blade snaps is should stay imbedded in the post. I think it would be more insightful to see how different swords perform using half a dozen STRONG strikes against hard targets than how they perform smacking them against other swords with less-than-deadly intent for 20 minutes.

Due to my experience the blade is hard to hold the edge after stropping. Also rust too fast and it just painful to clean the patina.

Cut cloths. shirts, jackets, jeans, shoe/boots (leather material, cut proof bags, wool) anything along those lines would be educational and fun. Make a stick man to dress and attack aha (maybe a small squad of them at once)

@@hunterwolfe6295 although they might have difficulties standing up in high winds lol Since pool noodles have a hole in the middle you can put in some kind of dowel rod to simulate bone & make it a bit more realistic.
