what a fighter Honeyghan was, i watched his rise through the domestic fighters, and when shocked the world beating up Donald Curry, Lloyd was a brilliant fighter, I'm lucky enough to own the shorts Lloyd wore of this title defense.

The ref yelling at Chung to get up 3 seconds after he had is nuts smashed in. Ridiculous!

WTF Is Larry Merchant on? Yes Curry defeated Starling on two occasions but they were both very close decisions they weren't WOOPINGS / Car WRECKS as he puts it.

I couldn't figure that out either. WTF are you talking about Larry?? (Or "Lerry" as SRL pronounced it, lol). And this is from Larry's biggest fan.

Larry merchant saying British aren't winners?....cheeky old fart...our boxing record for such a small island is beyond compare..

Dumb comment that made no sense by merchant who seems to talk to much for his own good at times.He should at least get a clue.

Lloyd honeyghan was a class fighter his career wasn't that long at the top but when he was at his best he would have given Floyd Mayweather all the way to go .not saying Lloyd would have won but Mayweather would have known he was in a fight.lloyd honeyghan you were a great fighter

What kind of a dumb rule is that? It rewards the fouler and punishes the person who was fouled. How does that make sense or how is that right?
@SouthbaySpeaks
@SouthbaySpeaks 4 года назад
It doesn't protect the fouler -- it prevents the fouled fighter from taking undue advantage. There have been too many dubious instances where boxers who were hit low purposely stayed on the canvas to win by DQ a fight they were losing.
@1981lashlarue
@1981lashlarue 4 года назад
@@SouthbaySpeaks I can understand that, but it still seems like there could be a better way to accomplish that goal and to protect the fouled fighter. I've never understood why they don't treat it like the accidental headbutt rule. For example... if there is an unintentional low blow and the fighter can't recover within five minutes, if it's so many rounds into the fight you can go to the score cards or a no contest if not enough rounds have been fought. That would seem fairer to me and would prevent a clear injustice like this.

Well Duran fouled Buchanan in 1972 and fraudulently was awarded the world title and that was a 100% damaging low punch shot.Ken Buchanan needed hospital treatment.Chung just looks like he`s play acting

Asian fighter's are usually as tough as they come so I assume the only reason he didn't get up was cause he knew his only chance to win was by DQ.

Lloyd Honeyghan had a reputation of being an angry brawler, but in this fight, Honeyghan had prove that he can be a slick boxer.

Back in the day (80’s) the ragga & I had a dust up on the Edgware Rd in a kebab shop, he accused me of giving me the side eye, I calmly explained I was Chinese & he threw a piece of cucumber at me….well anyone who has ever visited Ho Lee Fook would understand the significance of that insult. I dropped him on the spot with a round house kick & his top lip was cut & he looked concussed….I took the priece of cucumber & pressed it against his cut lip to stop the bleeding, he really appreciated the act & paid for my kebab….now maybe the story isn’t true but I did stand next to him in a kebab shop….great fighter.

That definitely was not a good night of boxing 🥊 with that Low blow altercation in the first fight and the punch after the bell 🛎 in the second fight
@joeblough261
@joeblough261 Год назад
Am I correct that under the present unified rules of boxing (vs. New Jersey) that the low blow, rules unintentional, would either be called a no contest or go to the scorecards if it was after the 5th round?
@MaleNotForSale

Chung clearly quit, he got caught on the left side of his hip, not on the gonads. Chung were getting lit up and was only a matter of time before the Ragga man stopped him. Cracking little boxer Floyd, Eubank jr could do with studying /learning from him.

That was not an accident that was a designated low blow in professional boxing the other fighter needed a better protector cup Larry Holmes has special made cut protectors
