Update** The loose ground lug I found was not the culprit! I will be skimming through comments and trying other things. It does not happen until up to temp. I stomped it it hit 70 then cut out and the trans shifted down to 30mph and would not go above without feathering the pedal!
Im having high hopes that it was a battery ground that loosened do to no battery strap/ last owner stripped the bolt im sure when i checked it last it was still somewhat tight cause thats usually the first thing I do when I get a vehicle is make sure the terminals are all in good repair. Thanks for the info Im still learning when it comes to the diesels.
Thanks for the idea! This one still has the factory cat. I went out stumped the other day since no codes were coming out. I checked my battery connections and found a stripped out bolt to one battery terminal. I have yet to take it on a test drive it seems to do it once the truck is up to operating temp. Im having high hopes its the wire connection that i could move with my hand. Will investigate the cat or do a delete soon if i’m still having trouble 🤔.
@@Zacpactvcan you post a link of part? I got a 03 lb7 and it does the same but even worse, when hot and in full throttle w a trailer and mowers it pops like it’s banging off rev limiter
