In this video I head to the western Beacons for my favourite hike in the Brecon Beacons - the Carmarthen Fans! Taking in the two beautiful glacial lakes of Llyn y Fan Fach & Llyn y Fan Fawr, along with the three peaks of Waun Lefrith, Picws Du & Fan Brycheiniog in the Black Mountain range of the Beacons - it's an absolute beauty of a circular day hike!

Great video - what amazing weather for it! I did pretty much the reverse of this route to start my year off (rounding Fawr then up and along, then round and back down by Fach), and totally agree - it’s a fantastic place; such massive landscape. Hats off to you too - because it was a challenging enough hike itself, without also going back and forth, up and down setting the camera to film yourself - sometimes at quite a distance too - very well done 😊

Fantastic video Christine. The views looking down to the Lake on your ascent are amazing and also the views of the peaks you are about to hike up. It looks a super day for it too. Incredible scenery from start to finish, that golden light towards the end of the video however was stunning. Looks like a great hike to do, I will try and add this on to my upcoming Wales road trip

Yes absolutely, couldn’t have asked for better conditions for October! Definitely before Babet & shortly before Cribyn actually, first one after illness! It was blissfully quiet later on in the day when the sun started setting, so lovely! & no luckily not Covid 😅 thanks again for tagging along Graham, pleased you enjoyed this one too 🫶🏻
