I should add something to this review, I said that it was a little top-heavy but in every shot you see its standing by itself. This kit is remarkable for a HG, props to it!
Which gundam markers should I use for the details of the entry plug and feet? Since it is a 1/144 scale kit, can I use it with a Action base 2 without problems? Loved the video btw, I wanted the HG one for practise to get the RG one.
A pretty nice re-issue, looks like it's aged pretty well despite being a design from more than 10 years ago, which is pretty impressive! AT field is a nice addition too, great for re-enacting Angel battle scenes!
Question for those in the know: I didn't really keep up with Eva kits past the original run of the series, so the PG and original 90s LMHG kits. Is this kit a reissue of the LMHG Eva-01 kit, in movie colors (ie the green midsection, etc.) and with new parts for the shoulders/knife/AT Field? Or is this a reissue of some 2000s-era (LM?)HG kit with new parts for the AT Field? Thanks, everyone. EDIT: 2007 runners. I see, then. EDIT 2: Wait, so the 2007 kit was itself a reissue of the 90s kit (or apparently 2000)?
old kit (without green mid torso) is from the original tv show. The green torso version is from the new movies (which came out in 2000's). They most use the same parts but just remolded to the movie version or tv version etc. sorry if this was a late reply
Yea would be really cool but the hard core fans would totally burn that I think. I guess they will at some point but atm they are milking this arc for all its got, man how many remakes have we had now.
Real grades the way to go bud, this is only for nostalgia purposes but I feel like the RG will age better over time due to its build quality. The rubber on the LM that covers the sleeves will rip over time.
But if you want a sturdy kit this is the way to go, I should have said more, this thing is insanely good at staying together and moving! Props to the Bandai of old haha
It's all about opinions at the end of the day so just go with the one you think looks the best. I have this kit (the 2007 version) and it's a lot of fun to build, it's slightly bigger than an RG, it's solid and the proportions are way better if you ask me. The RGs look too much like robots, they're too square. The engineering is insane, sure, but the peanut arms, the abuse of panel lines, the blocky design and the proportions aren't very much EVA-ish. But I'm a sucker for the original design though, so just go with what you like.
@@jelaienfinue Thanks! Will probably come down to availability and cost in the end as I'm in the UK and Gunpla has to be imported, usually from Japan so with their insistence of declaring full value UK customs add 25% of value and postage costs then a $12 handling fee minimum, oh yeah and Covid shipping prices too!
