I load 100 grains of FG with 1 5/8oz of #6 nickel plated shot for turkeys out of my 1873 Charles Daly 10 gauge SxS. I use a 1/2” fiber wad over the charge, no shot cup, and roll crimp a card board over shot card. I also waterproof them with clear nail polish. You should see the fire and smoke mushrooms that I took pics of exiting the barrel. Shot a double bearded gobbler with the load the first day I hunted with it.
@@theshotgunscientists Thanks. I didn’t figure they all were. I stick to my known safe loads but am eagerly waiting for your video on some 1901 safe green dot loads for plinking and waterfowl/pheasant type. 🤠🤘
I do a similar load as that 2oz, but just to duplicate 12 gauge factory 3 inch 4 buck. It does a bit better with the full length wad, relative to the 12. If I were to keep my BPS 10 as my HD shotgun, that's the load I'd keep in it.
2 oz for the 10 gauge it s the best charge reloading ! After for 3 oz charge i reload the 8 gauge with fiocchi hulls industrial and sp8 wads for the 2 guns artisanal Saint Étienne 😵☺️
Well, I got the clear bingo chips or I should say Learning chips from the dollar store I’m just wondering if you’ve noticed pattern changes versus a thin cardboard OS card versus the bingo chips?
I've been using a 19 mm leather punch to make over shot cards. The material I've been using is caps and water bottle caps. Was wondering if you can do a video on that
Thinking about buying the HODGON 2023 manual for reloading....in your opinion, do you think this book is suitable for reloading any shotgun shells? Aski g before I purchase...THANKS, and can I use this Hodgon maulnual for ANY reloading machine?
I am getting into shotgun reloading I haven't done any yet. Just gathering up the stuff and watching videos. But my question is how do you know on how many ounces of shot to put in
Buy a Shotshell reloading manual it’s all explained in there. Lyman 5th edition is a good one. Also join the buck and slug reloaders group on Facebook.
