G’day Jack and Co. I may have worked out a way to prevent dead birds in the water troughs. If you had an old boogy board and cut it into a wide triangles then glued that piece with the point up so that it reaches the top edge and the lower sides in both directions are well under the water surface this would allow the birds to climb out alive. This would be better than a float and it would be extremely hardy against wear & tear from the cattle rubbing on it. There are some serious glue products like T-Rex ( quick setting ) that would work quite well. Two per trough would be good. Hope this helps. 🤟😎☮️🇦🇺👍 J
