I keep mine in for the longest is a week but like you said that’s only b/c my head be itching if it didn’t itch I’d probably keep it up for 2 weeks or the whole 4 weeks only because I be liking my styles
For my locs usually I keep my style in for a month then get a retwist but since Covid I just been washing my hair at home & no retwist when my hair itching I use the itch spray by Jamaican mango & lime no more itch gro spray & I use the menthol one
I take my twist out about a week before I get it retwisted. and I get mines retwisted every 4 weeks.. what has helped me with the itchyness is spraying my locs with rose water
I just got my starter locs last week. Today make a week exactly. My scalp itch so bad I’m ready to take these barrels down like now to oil and massage my scalp

I’ve been growing mine for 2 years and they just now starting to grow Bc I used to use way to many products and wash my hair too much also mine are free form I literally just twisted it one day and they started growing on there own
Just stay away from beeswax and a lot of product and use sulfate free shampoo and if you use locking gel use residue free gel or try water only for a retwist with any type of natural oil mixed in like coconut 🥥 or olive 🫒 oil and a AVC rince every 6 to 12months stick to that and you good.. oh yea try to stretch the retwist as long as possible too no more than once every 1 to 2 months minimum I’m 2 years locked with high top and I’m shoulder length nearly 10 inches in length 🔒🔒🔒💪🏼✌🏽
not necessarily. some people's hair just frizzes less and grows longer. everybody different. and just bc it grows slower don't mean you doing sum wrong lol. don't listen to the other dude
I did a style after my starter comb coil twists and took them down in 2 weeks also lol. Just got my 1 month retwist sept 9th and just left them down no style. My hair is long enough to leave it down and it have some hang time so that’s what I decided to do from here on out. My hair itches more when it’s up in a style
Good Vibes Good Times with the coils the side coils come to my ear lobe and the back coils come to the middle of the back Of my neck. But my back and sides are cut so I will have high top dreads once they mature
