any recommendations on what to do prior to storing them? Any tips on how to keep them safe for years? Wash tips/drying tips/vacuum sealed or open storage?
I totally agree that not everyone is on the same journey. I bought my friend's dread when she cut them after growing hers for 10 years. I paid $200. So, you know that was a deal. Someone was like I would never put someone else's hair in my head. And I was like chick you are literally wearing a lace front 🙄 that suppose to be 100% human hair. But, she doesn't know that the real gag is you DONT know who hair your wearing, if it truly 100% human hair at all. And I know exactly who hair this is &&&& it's 100% Afro human hair. Periodttt 💯 My hair is about 14 inches (but natural so the shrinkage is a huge plus for reattachment) and the hair I bought is 10, 16, and 18 inches (she cut them down some because she was going to sell them online before I got them). I can't wait to get my new BUNDLES in BBY!!!
Update! I put my locs un and they came out sooooo nice! I did EXACTLY as you said 😅 It took me about a wk, because I took my time. I attached about 20 a day (and I had 120 locs, but used around 90ish). I wish I could attach pics. But trust me when I say, it looks like I went and paid some real coins 🪙 💯 And spent nothing but the $200 for the hair thanks to you ❤️
Girl I tell people this ALL THE TIME. Yall act weird when people buy locs but you’re literally wearing an Asian woman’s hair RIGHT NOW😂 and it might not even be all hers.
In definitely reattaching my loc's soon, I just need either an inch or two to grow. I started My loc's in 2011 and cut them last year July 28th, I have not been the same with myself since so I'm going to use this video as inspiration to put mine back in...thank you!!!!
Thought I was by myself feeling weird after I cut my locs. Saved them from years ago an been saying I wish I could put them back🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ never knew I could til I searched here🎉
Looks great! Ppl sure like to "police" hair..lol I'm on my third set of locs. Ppl get upset when you cut locs out..like they can't grow back or in this case reattach..lol Sometimes we just want a break & do something different 🤷🏽♀️ The pandemic sent me back to locs because I didn't want to go to the barbershop. I had someone start me with a gel twist & I took it from there 😊
Such a dope video! Your skills and teachings are amazing!!! I was so happy you spoke on the fact that everyone with Locs are not wearing them for the same reasons and that people should do whatever they want and feel with their hair. I so agree with that. Great content! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Cut mine after 12 years. Still have them bc I would be devastated to walk outside and see that someone went through my trash and decided to play with them and make voodoo dolls. I always joked and said I could reattach them. Cool to see someone do it!
This was great! You’re great! He’s great and he’s baaaaacckkl! 😁❤️☝🏽 I watched to reattach my 16 year old son’s hair. He was hospitalized and decided to cut it. He has not been the same. So he decided to reattach and I’m honored to do it. Thank you goddess and God continue to bless you!
@@kjahmbanso by all means I do. I’m from the DMV and that’s what they are referred to as. As you can see I stated both. Now looking more into this I see what you are trying to say 🧏🏽♀️
@@dae619 the backstory of dread and how the definition was to insult how we look explains everything nothing is dreadful about our locs. Nobody else's hair is criticized more then our hair.
@@kjahmbanso she didn’t disrespect anyones hair to began with nor call anyone dreadful. She was simply showing appreciation of the craftsmanship performed by the hair technician.
@@chizcapo1727 not the video the commenter said dread like that's suppose to sound like it's a good thing which definition wise it's not and just a play on our culture like anything else that the colonizers used against us.
Ppl with shorter locks that's not growing fast enough should definitely look into this. Especially those with early stage of lock damage... Great video 💪🏾
Thank u for this video, I was thinking of cutting my Locs off so i could get a different parting system. I mentioned this to one person and they got upset with me about cutting MY hair! I had my Loc now for 7 yrs and over the yrs. my parts have changed. Please post if u come to Dallas TX. I will make a appointment. I may fly out to Orlando just to get my hair reattached.
That's crazy how tight she got it. I was skeptical about the locking it in part with the technique until she damn near pulled his scalp off lol but nice work
Same here, I have mine in a bag. It will be a year July 28th since I've cut mine...started them back in 2012, I have not been the same since. Music don't hit the same, the way I feel spiritually after cutting them makes me feel awkward. I need my strength back asap and this video helps 100%.
I guess, but for me, our locs are energy..each being specific and unless, like spark plug wires, they can be re-attached in the order cut, energy isn't free to flow as before, but disrupted..though it looks amazing & clean👏🏾👏🏾👌🏾
As a man with locs down to his hips. Never cut and reattach your locs. You disconnect yourself from scalp/root to your ends. On top of that it’s pointless.
Wow this is new to me! I thought once you cut the hair from your head that's it, you can't put it back on - I see now that that is not true and that's beautiful, proves you learn something new everyday😲😯
I’m a believer in hair holding power but as a truly spiritual person you are not defined by the cutting or reattaching of hair , people can’t help but display their simplemindedness
Just stopped by to say.... Hair carries memory & trauma etc...Not all the time should ppl be reattaching their hair. Let it grow back and loc it again. Hair is more important than we realize.
I cut mine off also because I was thinning in some spots. I’m working on my scalp and the hair is coming back in. When it’s fully healed I will see you for the reattachment. I want my boxes bigger next time.
Just woke up and this is my sign lol. Wanted to cut mine after 5years so I can rock short hair for a little then reattach them but I got scared 😅 Im not scared anymore lol just lazy to go buy hair products...and omg COMBS!
@@dae619 Facts you feel naked without em I started my loc journey again yesterday after cutting mine in 2020 after 3 years this time I’m surely never cutting them again
@@Newera1047 that part! It’s scary lol but I miss my scalp and I never really embraced my loose natural hair so idk. Also wanted to try a different parting system 🤷🏾♀️
Some things I guess I'll never understand about human nature and human beings especially our ability to be such hypocrites!! - People wear weave all the time without thought we just go a purchase someone else hair and put it on our heads.. Of course the hair is dead and has been dead for a long time when we place it on our heads.. However, this man chopped off his OWN hair and people are talking about they wouldn't put dead hair on their heads.. People it's his hair!! It came off his head!! alive or dead, nothing is going to come of it because it was his... btw, you did an excellent job of freshening this young man up a bit. Too many of these dread wearers allow their hair to die off long before it's cut. It looks dry, damaged and dirty.. When you were finished this mans hair was shiny and alive and he looked so much better..
Lol I said I could do the same.. when I heard if it exits the follicle it’s dead.. I get my energy n power from my hair and I am on a spiritual journey… I saw that buzz cutt clear though lol GOD BLESS
Cut my Locs (two rulers long) in 2020... just placed a deposit to the lady who did the famous rapper “Pop Smokes” hair in Brooklyn NY to get my Locs reattached 8/4/22. Wish me luck 🤗
@@yezmirsheppard-halika6892 As you can see pictured (profile picture) what it looks like. Stylist did an excellent job and I've been forevermore satisfied.
Great video. I recently cut my hair after 3 years. Question. Hair does hold energy. They're our antennas. I want to reattach for sure as I kept my hair. Though my hair is dead, if I attach it back, I'm assuming they should come back to life as they're antennas. Just need an outlet to connect it to which is your new growth. Just trying to get my connection back without waiting for two years.
You have now convinced me to reattach my 14 year old locs but I have to un loc a small part which is going to be time consuming. Question: as they are interlocked is that more difficult to loosen? Then I need a good hairdresser with 'good' vibes and energy as I've had my share if bad experiences with negative energy. I have some Aloepecia in front and wonder if it is wise to interlock or twist as I'm using some medication on my scalp due to seborrheic dermatitis. Any advice is welcomed❤🙏❤
