I may be embrarking on head gasket AND timing belt replacement next spring. My question is, will that locking pin go in, in ANY other position the engine is rotated in? say 180 degrees opposite? Good video very helpful as not much is out here for the little freelander KV6 engines 👍

That's explains it, my Rover 75 kan after 2 year standing be fixed. I gave up when I never manage to get it in safe position. Thanks!

NOTE: The locking pin goes in the INNER hole to lock the crank via the DRIVE PLATE on AUTOS and in the OUTER hole to lock the crank via the FLYWHEEL on MANUALS.

Had the belts been replaced before? Did the crankshaft pulley notch line up with Safe position on the cover?

@@Life_Of_AL I pointed out there are two holes for that pin one is for an automatic and one for the manual the one closed in is for the automatic the other for a manual
