Btw. LOCK is part of the free trial for Dreams, which means you don't even have to spend money to play it

This is super late, but FUN FACT about the Pick-A-Pipe puzzle in Super Mario Odyssey! that a lot of people don't know about and they (rightfully so) call it a dumb challenge. If you stand close enough to the correct pipe, Mario will always look toward it, regardless of your position or camera angle!

I completely agree. I think it would be so cool to see a publisher pay 800 Pixel Gorilla to create Lock separately and sell it on steam, etc. idk if that's even within their wheelhouse, but man that would be awesome.

How did you miss The Witness as an inspiration?

I see the comparison, but it seemed like the Exit games were a bigger inspiration than the Witness, having played both. I also didn't like the Witness that much so, meh.

Thank you for making this video and bring attention to dreams. I think many people saw Dreams when it launched and there was not many polished games. I'm myself developing a game for about a year now and I'm so happy Dreams exist bc I'd never be able to start making this game. It would have been too complex to do so. We just need to wait for more games to come out and brings attention to it.

I haven't had a chance to play LOCK myself (yet), but I watched Keith Ballard's playthrough of it. And just... wow. This game absolutely *must* be on a shelf of iconic puzzle games such as MYST, the Witness, Talos Principle and others, purely for its concept and execution. It's small, but it's genius. It took all the turns and it will make your head go round. It's not at all easy to make a puzzle, let alone a puzzle game, let alone a puzzle game that twists itself inside out and then wacks you on the head. Sorry for a sheet of text, I'm just still blown away by the entire concept of that game :D I hope more people get to experience it. Dream itself looks fun, I hope to pick it up on PS4 some time and see what I can cook up!

Lock is just amazing. If you want a similar experience, try the Exit: The Game series. Great games with a similar premise. I'm not sure if they are still working on it, but I remember rumblings of a Lock 2. I'm totally on board if it happens!
