This is a reply to Lockdown Cutting Challenge #1 - Sword Test Cutting Contests
This is the first in a series of challenges - for fun - to keep those of us with outdoor spaces and sharp swords entertained and hopefully some viewers too, during the Lockdown!
The challenge:
Simply try to do what I instruct in the video, using similar materials (especially try to use similar types of bottle if possible - no milk bottles). Once you've done it, post a link to your vid below here, or on the Facebook page. I look forward to seeing them!

Why dont you have a million subs by now, you have the best chiv content honestly this is ridiculous. I see other dark age historians with way more subs yet they dont eveb provide weapon testing!!! 😵😵😕😵🤮🤮🤮🤮 and on top of all that theyre videos are cringy sometimes.

Unopened soda bottles, with the original soda in them? That adds a level of challenge, the co2 escaping could cause the bottle to fall more.

Well that sabre looked nice, both cuts and the sword itself :-) And I have to admit I smiled whenever Kattie told you where the pieces went. Also now I am curious, what are your opinions (if any) on the Swedish Carolean sword?

im pretty impressed, i figured the hydrostatic shock of the water would just plain old fashion push the container off the shelf but the perfect technique and sharp well made blade worked amazingly

There was a lot of background noise in this and I found it difficult to follow what you were saying. I think you could really improve your video quality, if you decide to work on that. Maybe ask Shad, because I never had problems following on his outside demonstration. Anyways, I just found through Shads shout out on the Longbow draw test and I really like your content. Just wanted to share my input.

33 views in under 20 minutes! Thrand is definitely a popular channel! I've only been up 2 years...but I'm unpopular! Lol I did the challenge again yesterday...have like 3 views lol Honestly it's not big deal I do RU-vid for fun & have watched Thrand since his Viking vs Samurai Deadliest Warrior rebuttal videos. Proud of him & his accomplishments on RU-vid! He was one of my major reasons for deciding to launch a channel.... Even if my content is weirder than his LMAO Hilsen

Thrand, how much should a viking shield weight? Hurstwic claims that it is 10-15 pounds and Roland W. Claims it should be around 6-8 pounds. What do you think?

In my opinion 7 to 13 at most but depends on the strength of the shield made. A good shield for war would be 8 to 9 at lightest.

Man, that civil war spadroon was awesome. Looks like it cut with so much ease. Was that used from horse back? Or infantry use? Or both? Seems like that sword would have been devastating from horseback. Also there is something about swinging a saber that just feels so gentlemenly...

I like using gallon jugs the plastic is so soft and easy to cut. The 2 liters need much better edge alignment to cut good.

holding proper posture all day makes it much more natural to hold proper posture when you are going to need to use it. It's easy to think the right thing to do is to relax, but many will argue it's have your hands ready and with forward upright posture.

Is it possible to do a vertical strike and split the screw cap in two without causing the bottle to fall? I bet, I could do it with the right blade, but I doubt I could do it with extracting the blade by following through

The plastic in a gallon jug like for milk is way softer. Ive cut the cap in half horizonially and vertically. Ive cut the jug like 3 times just chopping it down by a few inchs each time.
