love this channel i was thinking of names for a fantasy rpg idea i got and i remembered thegnthrand. can't help rn as im currently unamployed lol but I see that the house goal is not yet met 10k tho thats some help that will soften the blow for sure. Keep up man, nothing is grim in life, it's all part of the motion, live passionately, burn with life. Much love bro, love your content.
Something that occurred to me when Thegn thrust the spear into the armour was that it was stuck pretty securely and took a lot of effort to remove - imagine if you'd landed such a solid strike on an enemy in battle and, not only had you not done more than slightly bruise his belly and alarm him*, but you'd just lost your spear too! (*though then Thrand did show that one thrust had got through and made a small cut on the belly, and he suggested that the force of the blow would have knocked him on his back, which sounds plausible. Certainly it could have badly winded him. Nevertheless, you still have the problem of retrieving your spear)
Instant differences can be seen in the two bows. I'm not sure what poundage Shad's bow is but that brace height of the string was huge for a long bow. Thrand's seemed to be much more where you'd expect it to be for a long bow. I have a long bow but the poundage is too high for me to start practicing with a right side rest. Thanks for the content though chaps. Always interesting to see other folks testing older techniques.
Kirk is in sick bay picking bamboo slivers out of his ballsack; while the drag queen Metrons were laying bets and laughing their ass off about being “civilized”! “He actually ignited a 💥 bamboo pipe bomb near his privates, didn’t see that coming, no species has ever been that stupid, and to waste those perfectly cut 💎 diamonds as ammunition?!!!lol He was exhausted, darling” “Maybe, but there was a trivially camouflaged tri-cobalt-grenade launcher but a mere half click over that rise, this MAN runs back to the bamboo like a savage primate. Then uses our raw materials we use for make-up to construct an explosive that almost sterilized him instantly as he’s painfully realizing now” “ yes , I believe I do owe you five rubies over that act of near self- defeat. The species needs help, and their fashion is fucking atrocious”
Completely forthcoming: I have worked with mainly Japanese or Korean style swordsmanship. But I have looked into blunt weapon and different knife styles to use a one handed wakizashi. I have noticed that with proper katas they can effectively be used to a degree where you get swordsman’s hands; meaning the grip becomes noticeably strong in a short amount of time. With katanas and wakizashi not having pummels, I think it’s probably weighed evenly according to blade usage. Of course, this is America and you never take a sword out and about. Even more so, we’ve all seen Indiana Jones. Just because you own a sword doesn’t mean you have any intent to use it outside of training, like yoga. But, it does provide a distraction from the hellscape of working in a job, the struggles of familial ties, and every other unwanted effect of modern culture and the people that you interact with.
My dad got hit with a hand climbing mountain pick that went into his kidney: he beat the fk out of the guy with his bare hands until he was uncontious. When he got home he was dieing and the ambulence to him in. He was only wearing a tee shirt and it never broke through the shirt. That result didnt suprise me: its a testement to this content creators accuracy.
My hammer was made of Meteorite, and I used it to make the dagger. End of story. Any fool can pick it up. Not anybody knows how to use things and what they are used for.
Weapons like like that was used since the stone age. A sharp blade mounted in a right angle to the shaft. A horse scull has been found, with a flint blade deeply imbedded.
Funny that you mention another practitioner while simultaneously displaying the cover from our interpretation. (You can see our logo peeking out from behind Henry VIII there)
