Good explanation but important to clarify that Non contact voltage detectors should be able to detect voltages of 50 V or greater as a minimum- according to BS6891:2015+A1:2019

Good explanation but not what to do if you do find it going. Had so many doing it and getting sparks out to check and they just laugh at ye

One problem with that volt stick it dose not pick up anything less that 240 volts what if there is 110v or 70v for argument sake it won't show vailtage 110v can kill to Another point what about making sure your meter is not live fire or cooker also Very very bad advise in my personal opinion

So this device is pointless in your opinion?

I have a LAP non contact voltage pen that detects voltages from 50V-1000V AC. Does the job perfectly well.

In the advice for gas Safe registered engineers (tb118), which this video is aimed at it does explain what type of voltage indicator is required and the correct type works on lower voltages than 240. Graham does refer to this document in the video.
