Wondering if you can help I’ve moved into a house with baxi precision boiler I bled a radiator but depressurised the system it only had one on off black tap underneath how do you pressurise it without a filling loop ?
Excellent video, I applied all of this to find my fault I used an old style ignition timing light from the garage then tested ohms and had O.L as you did. Next tested power input just as you did. Couldn't have found it without your vid thanks very much 👍
Fantastic help. My boiler is now fixed thanks to your help. I’m gonna start charging my neighbours hundreds of pounds for something a Luddite like me can do!
Absolutely stupid design. Just have a colourful screen with what each thing is rather than a bunch of codes. The new Worcester for example, u dont need to read manual,u can jus do whatever u need to rather than spending ages finding manual, looking thru manual for what each code is. Also, make max n min burner easily entered,so that engineers can get their job done quicker. Terrible so called “new” model. Take a look at vaillant’s menu. Ditch the “new”display that looks like 70’s calculator
I had this exact issue. Boiler worked to heat house, but turning hot water tap wouldn't turn boiler on. A plumber Came, saw and said new boiler for £2200. Next plumber came, saw and said £400 to replace diverter valve. I got another plumber, who came and saw and then wouldn't tell me what was wrong, but quoted me £300 to fix the problem. Another two plumbers told me something similar. They wouldn't tell me what the problem was, what they would fix, but apparently they are guaranteeing that it would be repaired. Then I found this video. Parts cost me £4, job took me a handful of minutes, and all I used was a screwdriver. Thank you for this, it's saved me from getting fleeced by a string of sly plumbers.
There's a theory that the seals in the divertor valve are being compromised by inhibitor in the heating circuit. 4 year old Baxi 830, onto its third cartridge, leaking up through the plunger pin, same issue every time.
i am replacing mine with baxi i had sales agents trying to sell bosch after review i choose baxi they kept there proven technology brass hydro lock divert valve brass baxi always
I’ve got a stuck float switch on my Platinum, I’ve had to removed the Hall effect sensor so we can have heating as I can’t get the cartridge out….its seized in the manifold. Any tips?
No it isn't. Range rating to keep (the kettle from boiling) or gettingbto hot to quick it has to kill the flame. The room thermostat is what takes care the heat loss of the building, not range rating. Range rating can be though of as being gentle on the accelerator. If range rating there to match the builder thermal loss, (u valve) you'd ba able to tell me how to measure the U value. But you can't measure it, all you can do is guess/estimate the value based on largely untestable building fabric.
@@markjones1337 range rate is to adjust the appliance to match the maximum heat output required to match the heat loss of the building What are you talking about?
No it doesn't, when the flow and return temps INSIDE the boiler are getting closer to equal the flame will shut off. All condensing boilers work best with a 22 degree difference between F and R. I bet you tell customers than the heat in the condensate is transferred back into the rads, because that's what all muppet heating engineers incorrectly think. It's modulation than make condensing boilers more efficient NOT recouping heat from condensation.
I changed a spark generator on a duotec today, it was sparking nicely but the boiler would not light. Replaced spark gen and it worked a treat, I guess the spark was too weak?
Do u know which model can replace that one on ur video. Mine has hot water no heating. The heating light is not on. It used to work well. After the technician replace the mother board or electronic board, then it is not working for the heating. We did not check , now heard the company closed business, people are replace it with other brand. I cannot find a baxi technician so far.
