Translate your WordPress website (plugins and themes) for free using Loco Translate.
This is mostly (but not necessary) an add-on to Polylang plugin that we used in another video to translate our website. • Free Multilingual Word...
You can use this plugin to translate your plugins and your theme.
If your theme has content that are not in a page builder then you can use this free plugin to translate all those strings.

You don't have to create a multi language website to use this plugin. If you are creating a website in a language different than English you can use this plugin to translate the fields of the theme and plugins that you cannot translate in their settings.
After the translation you can delete the plugin and all the translation words will remain as long as you have selected the location of the po files to be "Author".
Highly recommencement plugin that is free and does exactly what you expect.

Probably you havent find the correct word. You have to Search all the plugins or theme to find it cause it may appear 2 or more times in different locations

Hey! what should I do if I have a child theme and a parent theme. Will the translate still remain after updating the parent theme if I translate the parent one?

Depends on where did you save the po and mo files when you start using the Loco translation. I would suggest the system location

Hello, i have done everything you showed in the video and in the other locations as well. Everything went accordingly, but when i see the frontend nothing change after i refresh the page. The leave a comment in comment section form is still in english, what should i do?

Try these steps. 1. Disable all plugins and see if the comment form is still there. If the form is still there, then it is from the theme. If not a plugin is responsible for the form. 2. If the form is from a plugin, start enabling the plugins one by one, to identify the plugin that pulls the for. 3. If it from the theme then try also to save the translation to another location. 4. If it from a plugin, then check if the plugin has options to create another form.

Don't be too hard on yourself Stratos. You did just fine explaning everything. You walked it through well enough to convenice me to do my next site your way instead of TranslatePress. Hi, this is very useful, but all the translations of strings that I made yesterday (and saved inside "author" as you suggested) disappeared when I updated my plugins today. How can I avoid all my work being overwritten?

Hi. Select the 3 option it will be saved within wordpress/languages. It will not be updated with the plugin but you aslo have to take a backup to be sure it will not be updated with WordPress update.Keep in mind that there are some plugins or themes that will not work. If you find that it is also the case for you the best practice is to export the po file once you are done and keep it for any case.

Thank you for this video, there is a question, how did you add the language switch to your menu? did you install another plugin for the language switch? as this option is not with Loco plugin

I would recommend to disable all the plugins fist. If the string can be found on the front end, then it is from the theme. If not then start enabling the plugins one by one and check every time if you can see the string. When you can see it then the last plugin that you enabled will be the one that has the string. Backup fist.

Καλησπέρα Στρατο και συγχαρητήρια για τα βίντεο σου! Εχω κατεβάσει το Loco για το Woocommerce και δεν χρειαστηκε να κανω κατι μεταφραση γιατι η μεταφραση υπηρχε ηδη μεσα στο Plugin, το προβλημα ειναι οτι για να ενεργοποιησω την μεταφραση πρεπει να αλλαξω γλωσσα ολοκληρο το Site και δεν θελω το Dashboard να ειναι στα ελληνικα. Υπαρχει αλλος τροπος για να μεταφράσω το Woocommerce στα Ελληνικά χωρις να αλλαξω γλωσσα στο Site? Σε ευχαριστω προκαταβολικα και ευχομαι να "ανεβει" γρηγορα" το καναλι σου!

Καλησπέρα και σε ευχαριστώ πολυ. Άσε τα Ελληνικα από τις ρυθμίσεις του wordpress και μετά πήγαινε στις ιδιότητες του χρήστη σου και επέλεξε Αγγλικα στην επιλογή της γλώσσας. Αν δε σου δουλέψει, στείλε μου να το ξαναδώ.

Do you mean yo have to use Polylang & Loco together ? They don't work separetly ?

If you want to translate your website to your language you can use Loco. If you want to have 2 or more languages you might need both. But they do work seperatly.

Hi ! When I'm on the pages of Loco translate for translate my word, I have like you the "Source Text:" part and below, there isn't "Greek translation" but "Context". Do you have any idea where this comes from?

Hi Saad. To go in the page that says "Source Text" you have to select first a theme or a plugin. So if you find text in there it must be from the theme or plugin that you have selected to translate. I hope I understood correctly your question.

Buttons are usually made from the page builder so you can write whatever you want.

Thank you for this video, but what happens when I update the plugin which was translated by the loco translate? will I lose the translation because of the new files of the update?

When start translating choose the save location inside wp-content/language i think it is the second option. Then you will not have a problem with the updates

Have you try all the locations? If yes then try from the start. And be careful for the updates. Take a backup so you wont loose your translation

Καλησπέρα. Αν θέλεις μόνο μετάφραση και όχι 2 γλώσσες τότε μπορεί να γίνει με το loco plugin που είναι δωρεάν. Έχει αρκετή δουλίτσα στα υπόψιν. Αν θέλεις να το κάνεις δίγλωσσο πρέπει να αγοράσεις το wpml plugin μιας και δεν υπάρχει δωρεάν plugin που να υποστηρίζει WooCommerce

Θα πάρεις το πακέτο των 79$ που έχει όλα τα plugins που χρειάζεσαι μέσα στο πακέτο. Υπόψιν είναι κάθε χρόνο αλλά η ανανέωση είναι πιο λιγα

Everything that is not build inside the theme or plugin can be changed in wordpress normally. The title of the article can be changed in posts, edit the post and change the title

I made a mistake trying tranlate a word with % (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6qLkdl97PU0.html ) and i can not make a restore. How can i fix it ? I didn't made a significal proggress and i don't care if i lose all trasnlationed words in order to restore that error. Thanks

I am guessing the mistake was on the source filed. I would suggest, disabling - deleting the plugin and re install it.

For multilanguage you have to use Polylang. As for the WPBakery, yes it works. I have another video in my channel that is a more recent tutorial with solution if something is not working

Polylang is a little faster, but it is a minor difference. I use Polylang mostly cause it is free

Καλημέρα Στράτο, πραγματικά πολύ καλή και αναλυτική η παρουσιασή σου. Ενεργοποίησα το loco αλλά μου βρίσκει μόνο 7 strings για τη μετάφραση. Το ανανεώνω (sync), ξανά τα ίδια, ανανεώνω τα templates, καμοία αλλαγή, δοκίμασα να ανεβάσω και το Extracting strings από τα settings αλλά τίποτα, το έχεις ξανασυναντήσει?

Αν το plugin η το θέμα δεν έχει από φτιάξει po αρχεία τότε ναι είναι πιθανόν να μην μπορέσεις να το μεταφράσεις με αυτό τον τρόπο. Ποιο plugin η θέμα θες να μεταφράσεις?

@@stratos-tutorials Είναι το θέμα June από την code-less, το είχα ξαναδοκιμάσει σε άλλο site και δούλευε. Μοιάζει λες και πέρνει τα strings από το codeless που είναι το builder του θέματος (είναι σαν το bakery builder) και όχι από το June που είναι το ίδιο θέμα.

Propably you have not found the correct word that you are trying to translate in the loco plugin. Try disabling one by one every plugin until the word disappears. That way you will be sure that you are looking in the correct spot. But if everything else fail then you can use another plugin to replace the word you want

This is the free plugin Loco that can translate every theme and plugin string. It is easy to use and as can see from the video you can translate almost everything. It is a must have for those who are building a non-English website.

nice tutorial. Therefore I have a question. I try to translate the title for the woocommerce shop that says PRODUCTS LIST in French but I don t see the sentence in English anywhere. I went to woocommerce, also I went to wordpress and also I went to the theme to see if I could see PRODUCTS LIST as the theme does not allow me to edit the page. What will you recommend to me to find where this sentences belongs to. I mean theme, plugins or woocommerce.
