👍👍 i live in Ohio, used to deliver mail on a rural route. the town was under a level 2 snow emergency and there was a huge, enormous mountain of snow piled up on the tracks on both sides of the road where plows and city vehicles had placed it, it was on a very remote road and it had snowed on top of the piles, they were about 10-15 feet high covering the entire track in two spots. i was the only person around and i heard a train coming, that train was cruising around 50 mph at least and when it hit those piles, WOW, it was one of THE COOLEST things i’d seen out on my route!! thanks for sharing your experience,,i found it very exciting to watch!! 😊

Hey Matt that B&O line on top of the other line how often do trains run on it and how long does the line go and is this part of the line that used to go from Mt Vernon through fredericktown and Mansfield and Willard Ohio I figured I'd would ask

Do you happen to know what’s happening on the CL&W? The tracks just north of the W Liberty St crossing seem to have been tidied up and it looks like there was some grading done to the left of the tracks

As a kid, me and my twin brother and a few pals of ours loved to go up and down the tracks next to the Military Depot we lived on back in the day when our Military Family got stationed at D.C.S.C in Columbus, Ohio! As an Adult kid Trains still have a pull on my Soul and like The Sailors when they hear The Siren from the Seas calling them....I too have that feeling when I hear Trains and their wailing HELLO to all as they swing by! Any good reason why you did not try to warn the train crew before they hit the tree..............?

Great video, glad no significant damage to train, I'm surprised it didn't come to a stop after hitting the tree. I know a little about railroading, but as far as collisions go a train usually stops so the conductor and engineer can examine the train for damage, with this video it surprised me to see the train keep going. Be safe recording videos out there.

The engineer I work with hit a huge tree a couple years before I hired on. He said it was pretty fun at 60mph. Didn’t even spill his beer. (Jk)

Nice looking EMDs ,seen a big tree get hit on SRF channel awhile back,they do a number on th,some of those GEs and EMDs 6 axle can weigh up to 250 tons per engine. I bet Shoestring would have liked to have been there for that!🛤🚂
